Yes obviously something is not present in the config.

 

 I see you have "\EFI\HackBGRT\bootx64.efi" at the end of your statements for "Path"

I made Icons Windows 10 Pro and Windows 11 Pro.icns does the dash need to be included?

Could you upload your two icons here so I can test?

ummm I created the Windows 10 icon on the fly just to try ... I've already deleted it ( I don't use win10 ) 🤷‍♂️

You can use any other icon just rename it like in the plist with or without a dash

I use both Windows 11 Pro 22H2 and Windows 10 Pro 22H2 to capture the differences.

 

I found lite versions of each, trimmed down, PhoenixLIteOS where this group has removed many options we don't use and some other nice benies.

So far these two OS's run faster in gaming mode as well as Desktop and takes up less storage space.

Runs faster FPS wise and quicker on opening apps. But has some quirks that is annoying which can be changed.

even though i have driver CrScreenshotDxe.efi and press F10 already on OC 0.8.7 with Ventura 13.0

Custom Entry works as written on the Dual Boot info at Dortania.

 

There are a few ways to do this in the Entry. What you enter into the Custom Entry 'Path' portion.

 

For Windows there are several entries that do work.

 

One is as prescribed on the OpenCore guide at the Dortania site. which is:

1  \EFI\Microsoft\Boot\bootmgfw.efi

 

Other sites are describing to use:

2  \EFI\BOOT\BOOTX64.EFI

 

Note for the latter entry: I Found that when Having more than One Windows this did latter did not work.  Strange.
So I changed one at a time for each Windows to boot to be sure using the First One.

 

As long as the boot path is entered somewhere in Windows such as the application does this for you and tells you to use it 
then it is a good bet it is what you want to use so that application works at boot.  Windows automatically uses the First One

So it is a safe bet to use.

 

One of the several most important key to this is what is in-between the statements 1) from the mapping done while in Open Shell to a text file and 2) the adding boot loader. forward slash and backslash /\

Windows uses relies on BCD so have to have a BCD file in the folder.  Windows creates this folder in the EFI with the BCD file when Installing Windows.

 

From the mapping table  looks similar to this below when Open Shell boots up.

This is the table of the map of drives on your computer is seen when you first boot into Open Shell.  However you may want to do a snapshot if your BIOS allows this function then you don't need 

to create one in the EFI partition. Then you can go the next step in finding which FSx: is the EFI of Windows and take note of it on paper.

 

To map the drives to a file using Open Shell: you are in Open Shell at this point.

To find the EFI partition:

just type at the prompt the FSx:  'x' = FS0: in this instance as an example <--designation until you find the EFI word and then cd to find Boot & Microsoft folders.

 

FS0: and hit enter. the prompt changes from Shell to FS0:  

key portion to take note:  the colon sign at the end of the three characters making in 4 characters needed to satisfy the operations success.

F S 0 :

 

Then type Dir to see what's in it. or ls

if you see the characters EFI then cd to EFI and type Dir again to see if this is the intended EFI you are looking for.

If you see the Boot & Microsoft folders for Windows then this is the one you want to map to a text file.

Done like this:

FS4: map > maptablewin.txt

this dumps a file called what you named in the EFI folder if you are in the EFI folder after typing cd EFI. You don't need to be in EFI folder or directory to map. You can be at the FS0: 

the map command will not function if there is no EFI. How's this?

FS5: is the Windows Data partition map command does not work in this parition.

FS6: is empty because it is hidden, and is a Recovery Partition. Will not work here either.

 

so here's how it looks:

FS0: cd EFI

FS0:\EFI

Or if you already know FS0: is your EFI then go ahead and type->   map > maptablewin.txt  <enter> 

But if you are in EFI then go ahead and type the map > maptable.txt 

This will then place the maptable.txt in EFI directory along with Boot, Microsoft, OC.

Or maybe you want the file in OC directory cd to OC and run the map command.

 

the > <-- is a redirect command for UNIX to redirect the output to an input. In this case to a file.

 

this > <-- can be used on the Desktop as well when desiring to create a file of the information you wish to save to a file in Terminal.

 

Whenever OpenCore or Clover is installed, and you have all your OS's installed and drives enabled

you just need to go to the Main EFI folder and do this once. Because Open Shell has all the mapping already.

Just need to find which EFI's are associated with the OS's. 

 

Lets say you have 4 OS's on the computer.

In Open Shell need to find which FSx: is the one then note it on paper saves time.

Then run the ---> map > maptable.txt <--- once it lists all the OS drives  and you don't need to  do this at each FSx:

 

But lets test to see if the system  boots from Open Shell. How to do this?

 

At the FS0: 

type the following for Windows

 

FS0:\EFI\Microsoft\Boot\bootmgfw.efi

 

if it boots into Windows at this point then your good to go.

Now enter the mapping found into Custom Entry in the config.plist for OpenCore.

 

Custom Entry: Add by using the keyboard keys -> Shift + in Propertree, In OCAT Edit > Add Item <- on the Edit Menu Drop Down.

These are the inputs to have and use and are needed to have success or else no working state: 8 total at the current time. Can change in the future as OpenCore Devs make a change.

 

1  Name: Windows 10 Pro

2  Flavour: Windows10-Pro:Windows

3  Path: PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x6,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0)/NVMe(0x1,FD-24-00-DF-67-A7-79-64)/HD(1,GPT,6EFD8171-E5FD-428A-B2E6-5E8EF3466B66,0x800,0x64000)/\EFI\Microsoft\Boot\bootmgfw.efi

4  Enabled: True or Yes or 1 <-- depending on your editor of choice

5  Arguments: leave blank

6  Auxiliary: No

7  Comment: For Windows entry

8  TextMode: False or 0 or No <-- depending on your editor of choice

 

here's where it is crucial in the 'Path' portion:  /\ which joins the two statments. foward slash and back slash

 

if these slashes are not present will not have Custom Entry Labels for your Windows OS's.

 

Lets go a bit further, if there is just a back slash and no forward slash, may have a very bad scenario where no boot happens and corruption takes place.
