fraz7
Hi, This is about asking about a real Mac (I'll have another go at Hackintosh later)_late 2013 Mac Pro - & - The Samsung 970 Evo Plus - I got a 500 GB drive which does work if you are using High Sierra or higher and the new APFS file system for partitioning - So with this drive I didn't have many problems with the "adapter" to fit it to the MP 2013. Also I got a 1 TB (same drive)_that I'm convinced does not have the correct firmware on as I've tried without success so there is a difference compared to the 500 GB drive that did work. What is needed is a USB >> to nvme (M.2)_enclosure that 100% works without any conditions. OWC have something called "ENVOY" - Are there any other options? Samsung use Magician software that I've tried on the PC test bench _(and new firmware ISO)_to create a USB bootable but this is where I'm a bit confused. What is the best cheapest USB >> nvme M.2 converter to use with Mac? - And how would I exactly update the firmware on the 1 TB Samsung 970 Evo Plus SSD? Simple steps would be best here - Any help with this appreciated - Thanks (to make the device discoverable)__ I can run any version of OS X / Mac OS - So with some assistance this should be OK to do (but the confusion)_has struck which isn't good - Thanks Edited September 7, 2020 by fraz7
