If I understand this post correctly, there is no full installer of Beta 7, it is only available as an update that came in at a size of GB 3.7 or there about. There is a possibility the next one or two will also be an update until the GM edition which will then be a full stand alone version. Of course this is pure speculation on my part going from the past previous Apple OS's.

Because the slider on my Dell laptop works just fine (and so are the Fn keys), and I was able to “reproduce” the brightness slider on my desktop computer, as seen by MorenoAV, by adding a fake ALS0 device on my iHack19.1, complete with the kexts loading and binding to the correct device. The screens are regular Dell 24” DP devices. I did made no further progress though as my PSU died and new ones are still way overpriced... so for now I’m just playing with my laptop and the real Apple gear. Correct. Notebooks support the slider as the screen is internal and made by Apple. Desktops do not unless the display is made by Apple and they no longer make any. Working as intended. Even notebooks will not support brightness of an external display if it’s not Apple branded. Technically you should be able to trick macOS if you’re running 19,1 or 1,1 as those have built in displays. Which sounds like what you did. But that is a hack. There is nothing technically wrong.

ghost8282
Anybody knows how to change the background of the login page? I changed the default desktop background to the dynamic natural one and so the login background changed accordingly, then I needed to seal the system again by installing beta 6 on beta 6 to apply the update of beta 7. From when I installed beta 6 I can't seem to change the background login which changed to the default one: changing the desktop background, rebooting and changing again the desktop background doesn't help, the background login remains to the default one. I imagine there's some sort of cache somewhere, anybody can help? Update - solved: after trying for about 2 hours without a solution and after 5 minutes after writing here I was able to fix: System preferences --> users and groups --> unlock the padlock --> right click on user --> advanced --> copy user uuid create new folder in /Library/Caches/Desktop Pictures/uuid (replacing uuid with the real copied uuid) assign proper writing permission to that folder change background from system preferences and now mac os is able to write the right lockscreen.png in the uuid folder Edited September 19, 2020 by ghost8282

eSaF
@vmiage - Explain what exactly. If you're trying to get the latest Beta 7, you need to download and install Beta 6 and then update to Beta 7 with the incremental update. Hope that is what you queried. If it is not, you need to be more precise with the question.

I used SWUSwitcher just like you, and nothing. Then I used the command below, and didn't realize he's for downloading 20A5364e version (beta 6), but the weird thing after updating I end up with 20A5323l version. Lastly, I tried Gibmacos, but the version is the same 20A5364e. So strange... 5364e goes back to 5323l curl -O https://raw.githubusercontent.com/munki/macadmin-scripts/main/installinstallmacos.py && sudo /usr/bin/python installinstallmacos.py --raw --seedprogram DeveloperSeed Edited September 19, 2020 by vmlage

I suggest you should reboot the machine and clean the NVRAM, reboot and try again. Spoiler
