Franziska1993
Hello Shaneee, hello jsl2000, I have a ASRock 980DE3/U3s3 with a AMD FX 6300 CPU and, MSI GT 710 GPU with legacy BIOS. After I updatet to OC 0.60 and Catalina 10.15.6 and would like to test BigSur Beta 1 to get experience for the Final Version later. Is it possible to get a config.plist or the cpu-patches for AMD FX? For this reason I bought a new SSD, so I can't break my System. Greetings from Germany, Franziska1993

Only mouse cursor over black screen can be found. If you can change to RX-560 or 570/580, then contact me again. One reason more to send me a cpu-patch for the config.plist. Other Friends with Ryzen have no Problems with using GT710 and GT730, so something should be changed inthe config.plist. Please try 15h_16h.plist with OpenCore 0.6.0 or 0.6.1 for your FX-6300 hackintosh. 15h_16h.plist Can you provide Ryzen config.plist in which GT 710 or GT 730 was working at Big Sur for me to compare ? Franziska1993
>Can you provide Ryzen config.plist in which GT 710 or GT 730 was working at Big Sur for me to compare ? Yes, I named the config.plist "config-until-beta3.plist" and "config-beta4.plist". There is a slightly change made, until beta 3 the prelinked kernel could be used to boot, but with beta 4 not anymore. I had some minutes a chat with my Friend and gives use an Advise what is very important. If you install with a GT710 or GT730, (I think he means all Keppler Grakas!) the Beta, you can't change the Graka anymore for one and the same Installation. config-until-beta3.plist config-beta4.plist
jsl2000
@Franziska1993 Are these two config.plist for Ryzen or FX-6300 ?
Franziska1993
No, they are for Ryzen, but are configured for (until) beta 3 and beta 4. The difference should only be the CPU-Patches, everthing else is GT710 and GT730.
Franziska1993
This is the Way I (try) to go. Step 1 - I will insert the 15h_16h.plist into the OC 0.60 config.plist and start catalina 10.15.6 and see if everything is Okay. Step 2 - Then I take the Ryzen config.plist and look after the Changes to start again catalina 10.15.6 and see if everything is Okay. Then as next I will try to install BiG Sur. If the Installtion goes good, then I try to Boot Big Sur. That's the Plan.
jsl2000
According to my past experience you better use an USB installer to clean install Big Sur instead of update from Catalina 10.15.6. The best way is get installed Big Sur from a real Mac in an external HDD, then you can test it immediately via USB 3.0 port.
Franziska1993
> The best way is get installed Big Sur from a real Mac in an external HDD, then you can test it immediately via USB 3.0 port. Sorry, I don't have this Option. > According to my past experience you better use an USB installer to clean install Big Sur I agree, seems better as to install over Catalina. Meanwhile I am checking the differnecess between my config.plist and the Ryzen config.plist, after I inserted your CPU-Patch. Did you use FakeSMC.kext or VirtualSMC.kext for your AMD FX 6300 in your EFI? Until now I used the FakeSMC.kext. My config.plist seems to be pretty much identical with the Ryzen config.plist, what is good, because we both have the GT710 in use.
Franziska1993
Hello jsl2000, I got it, I can boot from USB Stick into Big Sur Beta 1 with my Nvidia GT710. I also have downloaded Public Beta 4, I will report. Then I will try to install Beta 1 first on separat SSD. Greeting from Germany.....

Congratulations for your success because my AMD hackintosh FX-6300 can not boot with GT 710 or GT 730 to desktop. If you did it, maybe I need your settings for comparison to fix it. In my other Intel CPU hackintosh GT 710 or 730 can work with SMBIOS iMac19,1 or iMac15,1, but FX-6300 seems only working with iMacPro1,1. What SMBIOS are you using now ? I'm using iMacPro1,1 , but I will try iMac19,1 and iMac15,1. On Catalina I used iMac14,2 because I use NVIDIA GT710. I get to the Installer. But after I start the Installer, after 2 Minutes it crashes with a Error Message, then it showes a Shutdown Message like when you make a normal shutdown. This happens in Beta 1 and Public Beta. By the way, what do you have for a Motherboard for your FX 6300 exactly? Is it the asus m5a78l-m, -LX, _LX3 or the Mobos with UEFI BIOS like M5a97 r 2.0? I'm asking, because I'm thinking about an AMD GPU like RX 560. But I'm not sure if it works my ASRock or ASUS M5A78L-M LX(3) both with legacy BIOS. Now back to the Topic: I will try an other SMBIOS like iMac19,1 and iMac15,1 or with later "nv_disable=1". When you start your Installer USB Stick, do you start with enabled SIP? My FX-6300 was in Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 mainboard which only provide Legacy Booting of OpenCore. Its internal GPU is ATI Radeon HD 3000 which was NOT supported by Mac OS X at all. Using GT 710 or GT 730 always got freeze during booting after PCI Configuration appeared with SMBIOS of iMacPro1,1. If iMac19,1 or iMac15,1 can not work with GT 710 or 730 means we are in the same boat ! RX-560/570/580 is the best dGPU in FX-6300 or Ryzen Hackintosh according to my test. Franziska1993
This Evening I will make a Test with my second PC, the ASUS M5A78L-M LX and AMD FX 4300 with GT710. There are two possible options. Option 1 - It is a Hardware Problem with the freezing. Option 2 - We don't have the same OC config.plist, where some settings are important for the GT710 to work. I believe in my setting there is maybe something set, that causes the crash. I testet the ASRock Mobo with the SMBIOS iMac15,1 and could boot like with the SMBIOS iMacPro1,1 into BigSur Beta without problems, but I had the same crash (see attached Screenshots from iMac15,1) . Before I forget to ask, what for a GPU are you exactly using (Company/Brand and so on)? A AMD RX 560 ist not the same, when bying other Brands, some work good in Hackintosh and some not? Franziska1993
Thank you, I will Report this Evening about the Install with my ASUS Mobo (if it also freezes or not). If not, then we should compare our config.plist next to Kexts and Drivers in OC 0.60.
Franziska1993
As I thought, on my ASUS Mobo the GT710 made it to the Installer without freezing, but with the same crash after 2 Minutes. After testing I got an Error Messages about that SIP was enabled, so I disabled it by the next booting. But then I had an other Error. That's a meant, these little mistakes in the OpenCore setting can cause serious problems.

iCanaro
on the T-RyZo I could not update with Clover, the first phase went well; the last part of the installation if it goes, I couldn't find a way to get it going, I finished with OC 062 stable then BS beta 10 starts well with Clover 5125, but not with all 5125. see here for KernelToPatch 17h for Clover

[Solved] I need delete SMCHelper.efi and add several SSDT-*.aml to fit my hardware and Clover bootloader.
