So if you use a full HD screen then you would want to choose the 1920x1080 file, but if you use larger resolutions and utilise UIScale 2 then the filenames will be half the size you want, for example, for a 4K (3840x2160) display you will again want the 1920x1080 file. For uiscale 1 max resolution is 2560px in width. Or try to replace the Background.icns with the attached one, not sure how it will render the icons with uiscale=1 (most probably the icons will be too small?) Background.icns 6.95 MB · 7 downloads Thanks for reply. If I use any of your background images, now ranging in size from 2.7 to 3.6 to 7.2 MB, and set UIScale=1, I only see text menu log-in, and after selection of drive, a normal-sized Apple logo progression bar. If UIScale=2, then your OpenCanopy theme is used but the Apple logo progression image is large.

Does this happen with my theme only?i.e. are you able to have a working theme with a background with uiscale=1? I have no idea, sorry, but if you have a working theme I can try to figure out what's wrong...

In testing, it seems this problem began during OC version v069. With v068 or older, I have no problems with OpenCanopy GUI and UIScale=1. I'd not changed for some time from using UIScale=02 until I began using your theme, and it took me a while looking at older versions to figure out it began during the v069 release. The problem is not your theme, but I think you know more than I do about themes and icon settings in OC, so I was hoping that perhaps you might know why this is happening.
blackosx
Just a quick post to say I've added MacOS 12 Monterey and Windows11 icons to Set3 and Windows11 icons to Set5 at the OpenCanopyIcons repo.

miliuco
@chris1111 Does OpenCanopy Generator convert the images into the proper icns format or does it also resize them? I have observed that it only converts the format, the size has to be modified before passing the images to your program. Is it so?

I know that it is possible to show the icons without labels, someone commented on it months ago in the forum but I can't find the post. If I find it, I'll tell you about it. To rename the disks, I suppose you want the disk to have a name and OpenCore shows it with a different name, is that right? miliuco
@kaoskinkae From the user KapnKrunch: How do I display unique disk names in the OpenCore boot picker screen? Go here to create custom files called .disk_label and .disk_label_2x which both live in each disk's EFI/BOOT folder, using a utility called disklabel which is included as part of the OpenCore distribution. In using the disklabel utility, you can use whatever name you choose to identify your disk. Spaces are fine. In each disk's EFI/OC/config.plist change the PickerAttributes to a value of 19 (13 hex). SardusX86
Hi All, I would like to use the Set3/MiscExtras/HardDrivesWithImages icons to compose an Opencore theme for my multiboot system (separate drives for each type of operating system) that has this configuration: NVME drive with macOS Catalina and macOS Big Sur in two APFS volumes. Entries on the Opencore menu: - macOS Catalina - macOS Big Sur Hard Drive (Mechanical) as a bootable backup of the NVME drive dedicated to macOS. Entries: - macOS Catalina BAK - macOS Big Sur BAK Drive NVME with Windows 10. Entry: - Windows Drive SSD with Ubuntu Linux. Entry: - Ubuntu Linux An additional SSD drive is expected with another Linux distribution (it could be Deepin). For this reason I would like to ask a few questions, if possible: I tried to create a custom theme for Opencore using the OpenCanopyIcons/Set3/Light icons in the repository and adding the icons OpenCanopyIcons/Set3/MiscExtra/HardDrivesWithImages. So I created a new folder calling it "Set3Light" and copying the icons inside it. However, by copying the "Set3Light" folder created in EFI/OC/Resources/Image/Blackosx the new theme unfortunately does not appear among those available using OpenCore Configurator (unlike the default Opencore Acidanthera themes or some themes from the blackosx repository such as BsxM1, BsxOc1, BsxDarkSpace1 which that once copied to the EFI/OC/Resource/Image folder are available for choice with the opencore configurator). I also tried to rename the icons placed in the created theme folder (eg from "Apple10.15_M2_NVMe_SSD_Image.icns" to "Apple10.15") but it didn't solve the problem. What could I have done wrong? Is it possible (how?) To use the Apple_M2_NVMe and Apple_HDD icons, in my case, to distinguish the macOS Catalina / macOS Big Sur menu items on the NVME drive from the corresponding macOS Catalina BAK / macOS Big Sur BAK backup menu items on the Hard drive Mechanical? Thanks in advance for Your help
Anto65
Hi , Assuming that you have updated the OC binaries and https://github.com/acidanthera/OcBinaryData looking at your photo you have some missing icons that must be present: BtnFocus.icns, Dot.icns, HardDrive.icns (copy them from another theme if they are not present) OpenCore Configurator does not detect never your theme because it is customized and is not present in the blackosx repository structurally, the EFI Folder should have it so the name of the author and the theme will have to be entered manually with OCC or Plisteditor in the plist
SardusX86
Thanks @antuneddu, now, adding some missing icons (as You suggested) the new theme is evidently detected and is available in the OC configurator. However, I have not found a solution to the second problem: Is it possible (how?) To use two different icons (the Apple_M2_NVMe and Apple_HDD), in my case, to distinguish the menu boot entries related to the macOS Catalina/macOS Big Sur partitions on the NVME drive from the menu boot entries related to macOS Catalina BAK/macOS Big Sur BAK bakup partitions on the Hard drive Mechanical? Furthermore, the ResetNVRAM icon does not appear as a menu item even if the "AllowNvramReset" variable is set to "YES" and CleanNvram.efi tool is present in /EFI /OC/tools: what could be the problem? Thanks again
Anto65
Set in Misc > Boot > PickerAttributes = 144 For Catalina rename icon to Apple10_15.icns For Big Sur rename icon to Apple11.icns For Ubuntu rename icon to Linux.icns To show Auxiliary Misc > Boot > HideAuxiliary = NO

So I would like to understand if it was possible to distinguish the boot volumes of the primary system drive from the boot volumes of the backup drive using different icons. For example, the first for the APFS volume on the main drive (M2 NVMe SSD), the second for the corresponding APFS volume on the bootable backup drive (mechanical HDD).
