Better wait for the OC 0.5.6 release , you are fiddling with an "under development" software.

Everything changes daily and you keep running after it ;)

Wise words brother that I’m sure I’ve heard before from somewhere... ;)

If I keep pressing the ESC key in the GUI interface, this will happen!

Icons not named correctly causing an OS not to boot due to a critical error sounds like a potential bug to me, IMO. At the very least if an icon is missing or not named correctly the OC fork should ignore it and allow it to boot without the critical error.

Both problems has been fixed with latest commit.  Thank you all for reporting these bug!

@n.d.k This morning, I use latest commit : I forgot to rename my windows icons to os_win10.icns for my entries. When I boot: no icons in GUI + 'Halting on critical error' message.

I think, I am gonna release the binary for this fork starting when OC 0.5.6 release. It would eliminate some of the trouble with compiling against outdated source code, and potential bugs with new changes.

However, I alone will not be able to test and find all possible bugs with new changes, so anyone who don't mind being the testers and reporting bugs will be much appreciated!

Did i say it's fixed? It will display a blue square icon if no icon found now.

- Ability to change entry name found by auto scanner by adding custom entry with the exact same device path, this will give users the option to complete change how all boot entries listed in Boot Picker.

What does this mean? Can you give and example please?

I know how entries work I mean what is auto scanner because it doesn't find anything by default I have to add windows 10 and other OSes. By default it only shows WINDOWS bootcamp and macOS. If I add a custom entry named Windows 10 with the correct path and I know is the correct path and the correct syntax because with the previous versions of ndk OC it works, it doesn't show up. Oh and when I select Windows bootcamp I don't know why but it boots my linux partition with Pop OS on it. I don't know if it's a bug but trust me the syntax in config.plist is the same that I used before the GUI update.

Honestly, i didn't get boot chime with builtin picker too

As Andrey has already written, you shouldn't get the very last thing out of the GIT just to get a few unfinished lines of code to function, especially not if there is no documentation or approval for it right now ;)

The audio stuff is in the upstream OC Sample.plist file but it still hasn't been documented yet. Until documentation is added, it probably isn't a good idea to try to get the audio stuff working. In fact, I personally wouldn't recommend trying to get it to work until 0.5.6 final is out.

Russian saying: it isn't necessary to run ahead of the locomotive.

I am not sure that you understand this saying, but ndk runs ahead of the locomotive.

Nonsense, pure nonsense. NDK has only made changes for himself and to help people who want to use a dsdt etc etc and not be affected by it when using other OS plus other small changes that he wanted in Oc but weren’t there. He then changed the boot picker to make it less like the original OC and keep the devs happy and now he’s moved into a graphical interface and it’s a work in progress and again it keeps it different from the original and very good OpenCore so to say he’s running ahead of the locomotive is just simply wrong really.

It’s great we have a choice now instead of clover only and I have nothing but love for everybody’s work but it really baffles me to why there has to be a intel/AMD style battle with tons of trolling. Can’t everybody just be happy for all the hard and very awesome work going on by everybody out there?

All I have is ultimate respect for all you so please don’t be offended by my words and just try to see the good hard work going on by everybody instead.

i am fully agree with you ,you describe exactly that what i want to say every time  and another thing is that the community already lost so many great Dev people because just thing like that happening every time

So if you are a  Devloper  and  a good person and you want to do somthing for community  and share your work  with us and there is someone just like you wants to improve or make it better  then we have to say very welcome and  appreciating his work but not discouraging

and the last thing what i want to say if you as a developer give us something so let me decide i want to do with it after when i have it

Bootloader can be critical but as Dev you have to help the community but not harm

as developers you have to decide weather you want to deliver your work as open source or you want to keep it secret as a close source

My highly respect  to all of you dev guys

Take it easy, guys. Let's focus on the good work that is being done here.

If all collaborators claimed copyright, the hackintosh would not exist. ALL inside bootloaders, patches, etc is a hard work from many many people for long years.

Just Enjoy!

In the GUI interface, if you press the right cursor key continuously, the hidden item content will be displayed, not corresponding to the icon, but if you press the left cursor key, this problem will not occur!

"Mac-data" is a hidden entry that is in the first entry if you press the space bar!

In the case of the original OC with scanpolicy=0, the Bootcamp Windows entry is always in the first entry, even if the custom entry is set, it is always in the first entry, so there is no way to determine if it is the same problem as the fork version!

So I only see this problem in the FORK version!
