installing osx on AMD X2+dualbooting with windows

im new to mac osx, i do some video editing and i have heard numerous times mac is much easier for video editing and other media creation tools. im set up with mac osx 10.4.7 talking to a few people they say you need to do some tricks to install osx on SATA hard drives my system specs are below. im a bit lost on this forum and don't know where to start and what tutorials im going to need so can anyone help me how i can set up osx to dual boot with windows on my system?

 

 

 

system specs

CPU: AMD64 X2 4200+

RAM: 1gb corsair XMS DDR2 800

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 300gb SATA 3.0 gb/s

mobo: ABIT KN9 SLI nforce 570 chipset

sound: Audigy 2 zs

video: EVGA 7900GT

current os: windows xp pro SP2

AMD64 X2 processors are capable of SSE3, but currently have a problem on OSX. Install using SSE2.

 

nForce 570 SATA is going to be a problem. You might make this driver work, but I would look for a PATA drive. A 20 GB drive should be really inexpensive - look at doorstops. http://topmods.net/OMC/AppleNVIDIAATA_1.zip

 

Audigy 2 is not going to work.

 

7900GT will need the MacVidia drivers but won't have graphic acceleration - http://macvidia.starchaser.org

 

You have a nice system, but isn't highly compatible with the current hackintosh version of OSX.

 

Installing 10.4.8 with the latest kernel (10.4.8 only) might help your processor and video problem. Using Titan or Natit with the latest kernel might give you video acceleration.
