RePete222 Posted October 30, 2019 Share Posted October 30, 2019 After applying the Mac OS 10.11.6 combo update, I have been having hit-and-miss success booting. It will boot all the way to the desktop 75-80% of the time (although it puts out way more messages along the way than it did for 10.11.3); at other times, it will either stall after putting out a screenful+ of "[MSR_64} detected invalid rdmsr( ..." and "[MSR_64} detected invalid wrmsr( ..." messages (and stopping mid-message) or take a KP for "spin lock acquisition timed out." I can usually reboot after either of those errors, but sometimes have to revert to my 10.11.3 partition. Any ideas as to what might be needed to get this system booting more consistently?
