zerr0x22
Hi all this is my first time posting but i have been reading the forums for a couple of months now. I installed Mac OS X86 on my laptop before so im not a novice when it comes to installing the operating system. I recently used the AMD 10.4.8 DVD and it worked flawlessly on my Compaq Presario v2000. My question is whether a bare bones kit i have recently purchased would be good to run OS x86. Unfortunately i am not good at figuring out which motherboard x86 supports so any help would be greatly appreciated this machine will most likely run windows for my company projects at home but dual booting Mac OS x would be a dream. Here's the link to the barebones i purchased: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...p?EdpNo=2719473 and this is an overview of what it has: Biostar P4M800 Pro M7 Via Socket 775 MicroATX Motherboard Intel Pentium D 830 3.0GHz Dual-Core Processor Ultra 1024MB PC4200 DDR2 533MHz Memory Thanks in advance and thanks to everyone in the forum that has made my Mac OS x installation on my laptop possible

Synaesthesia
The biggest problem with that deal is the motherboard. If you search, it uses the "VIA S3 Unichrome Graphic core", for maximum compatibilty with a good price, look for a motherboard with Intel GMA 950 graphics. (945G chipset)
glassJAw
Stay away from VIA, they are garbage even for Windows/Linux use.
