If your using a rx590 or lower then yes having igpu enabled under 19,1 will score higher.

thats usually not the case though when using a vega 56 or higher.

is Netflix etc working fine with you on Vega 56 with the iMac19,1 SMBIOS ?

for me using my vega56 or 5700xt under 1,1 I have zero drm issues and never have.

however under 19,1 it’s broken but I can make it work again by using the boot argument shikigva=80

here’s a chart for all the correct boot arguments but unfortunately this does not include Polaris GPUs

Also, is it right that HEVC is disabled and the graphics card is not shown on Video Proc ?

I just checked my HEVC, and it is unavailable as well. I'm pretty sure this was working at some point before on my same config, so not sure if 15.2 update changed it or not. Some people were able to fix this using an HevcEnabler.kext, but it didn't work for me.

@hungrywallet is your HEVC working over there on 19,1?

It was the same for me on 10.15.1, @tasc. HEVC unchecked (RED)

I strictly only use 1,1 on my own build and have zero interest of having my igpu enabled. (I hate it)

With the 5700xt my resolution from my clover bootloader all the way up to full boot up is on 1440p on my dell and stays at 1440p and never moves. However I had a Samsung 28” 4K before the dell and I got all of the problems your describing plus add to that my clover bootloader was stuck at the 800x600 and this was while using my Vega56. It was so bad and annoying that I ended up switching to the dell and I haven’t looked back since.

Dang. Well I'm stuck with this stupid LG (bought it before making the Hack). I'll try to look into it when I have more time.

I redid my system using 19,1 and couldn't be happier. The dGPU is still being used over the iGPU but everything works, even Sidecar. And the system is far snappier than on 1,1 :)

Can anyone tell me the settings required and EFI, DSDT, files to be able to use my UHD 630 IGPU with my MacOS but use the RTX 2070 on Windows. Is there a way to have MAC ignore the GPU and only recognize the IGPU? I don't want to have to keep unplugging my GPU every time I want to log into Mac. Im currently using the EFI and DSDT Files with the RX580, i7-8700k. If anyone can help me id greatly appreciate it !

All these issues (DRM content crashing, HEVC disabled etc) I couldn't stand them so I reverted back to iMac19,1 SMBIOS EFI with my iGPU enabled.

Then I found out that AppleTV was not working either (10.15.2) (player opened and crashed instantly) so what I did was I built and updated Lilu on 1.4.1 and WhateverGreen on 1.3.6 and added shikigva=16 on the Boot Arguments.

Now Netflix and other DRM content on Safari won't play but won't crash either, and AppleTV seems to be working fine. I also have HEVC activated on Video Proc and Sidecar works A-A.

Photo attached as proof (The Netflix Screen is actually the "Something went wrong" stuff in Greek)

I've gone through that same exercise and found the same results.

You can get HEVC working on iMacPro1,1 again by using either HEVCEnabler or dummy152 kexts. One targets the 580, while the other works on my 560 (they just patch different frame buffers).

I think the only benefit I see running 19,1 is the machine doesn't lock up with safari DRM and just shows a recoverable error instead. However, I see other strangeness like the activity monitor app taking a long time to launch compared to iMacPro1,1.

There is someone claiming on another thread that got FairPlay working on iMac SMBIOS by using dummy152.kext, shikigva=16 shiki-id=Mac-7BA5B2D9E42DDD94

He has an RX460 though.

As I’m not at the office I will try tomorrow morning (it’s 20:30 here) but if you have time you can definitely check it out.

I'll try once I get home and report back.

I'll also be trying this as well though I have a 5700XT.

Do you have Netflix working with WEG 1.3.6 and shikigva=80 ? BTW I own an RX 580 Pulse not a 5700XT

Yes. Netflix and TV both work just fine.

So HEVC works as normal.  Netflix also now works with shikigva=80 on my 5700 XT, 19,1.  I did update both Lilu and WEG to latest developer builds.  Guess DRM Gate is over now.

So I've tried shikigva=16 shiki-id=Mac-7BA5B2D9E42DDD94 with and without dummy152.kext / HEVCEnabled.kext.

Nothing changes for iMac19,1 RX580.

The DRMGate persists :(

This is so weird though. With my previous motherboard and CPU (z370m ds3h, i3-8350k) I had AppleTV, Netflix and Prime working with shikigva=1 on 10.15.1. (WEG 1.3.5) with just headless mode on device properties for the UHD 630.

A Note ABOUT DRM GATE

Please people go easy about the broken DRM issues, I have seen two MacBook Pro’s with the same problem using a FireWire connected GPU so the problem runs deep and it’s something that Apple and or WEG will resolve in time.
I feel like it’s getting all a bit OTT now concerning this problem and my thread is absolutely saturated with DRG GATE. Just relax everybody and chill and it will be resolved sooner or later. :wallbash:

Question, Who actually watches Netflix or any other streaming service bar maybe Kodi on there hacks in reality anyway?
