Thanks @AudioGod for EFI and explanation!

Testing whole november the same hardware as yours in two configurations - RX590 Nitro+ and Radeon VII.

In both cases i use: Aorus Pro Z390, i7-9700 (0x0705), 32 GB 3200 Kingston DDR4, Bluetooth/Wifi combo card (WTXUP). Thats all.

Clover - 5099, Lilu and WEG updated.

BIOS settings (F11): // Before making changes do the battery trick with CFG Unlock :).

IGPU -> Enabled

DVMT Pre-Aloccated -> 64Mb

DVMT Total Gfx Mem -> Max

Apperture Size -> 512 Gb

Above 4G Decoding -> Enabled

XMP profile -> Enabled // decreased DDR4 to 2666MHz (Fix problem with External USB hub, more native).

Intel Platform Trust -> Disabled

Security Device Support -> Disabled

Erp -> Disabled

RC6 -> Enabled

Clover:

ACPI -> PluginType -> Enabled

CPU -> Type -> 0x0705 // for i7-9700

Devices -> USB -> HighCurrent -> Enable

Devices -> Device properties - AAPL, platform-id -> 0x3e980003

SMBIOS:

iMac19,1 (DRM content not needed for me (Netflix and Safari), TV.app and Apple Services works without problems).

All GPUs acceleration enabled, Sidecar works, Sleep and Deep sleep works like a charm.

Sleep:

1. Remove *.powermanagement*.plist from /Library/Preferences

2. Use "disablehibernation.command" (first post) to set necessary params to 0 and lock sleeimage file.

3. Reboot.

4. Disable "Powernap", "Wake on WIFI" in System Preferences (don't need disable "wake on lan" in BIOS and disable "Put hard disks to sleep when possible")

5. Check Hackintool "Power" section for warnings. Repair if you have needed (promiximity wake for example must be set to 0).

6. Reboot and test.

My conclusion:

1. EFI RX590 Nitro+ - all works without problem, stable, (slide=0 not needed (removed), NVRAM native).

2. EFI Radeon VII EFI - all works without problem, stable, (added slide=0, NVRAM native, if you have other BIOS settings (not as above) - sometimes to able to boot change DVMT Pre-Allocated to 32Mb). Also on the same machine, I use Clover to start Windows 10. When I switch from macOS to Windows 10, I completely shut down computer before (not rebooting) and don't have problems with "slide=0" to boot to macOS.

For my config i little modifying "SSDT-6-A M I.aml" // for testing attached below who need. changed some ports from USB3 to internal, USB2 and USB-C Type.

It would be great to make the most native DSDT for Aorus Pro (I like this simple mobo without unnecessary devices). :)

I see other Mald0n EFI's for Aorus Pro, and his some changes: RTC (like FixRTC), renamed throught DSDT all keys, added in some EFIs Mickey driver propeties), USB injection and others.

A lot of thanks!

SSDT-6-A M I.aml

Hello everyone!

I'm dealing with a sleep issue for a while now.

The problem is that when I put my computer to sleep overnight, it wakes up randomly for a few seconds (leds, fans etc are working but the monitor is not turning on), and then it goes back to sleep. A similar issue could also be found here.

I have disabled wake on lan in bios, I also changed darkwake from 0 to 8 as is suggested in various sources (they suggest to play with values 8, 9 and 10 for desktops), and I also updated clover to v5099 and installed Optional RC Scripts -> Disable sleep proxy client, which was also suggested by a few people who faced similar issue.

Yesterday I put my computer to sleep and left for a few hours, when I returned my computer rebooted - it seems that it crashed, so I had to find out why.

Digging in the logs and reading the logs of latest crash I saw this:

Date/Time:        2019-12-04 02:45:29 +0200
End time:         2019-12-04 02:48:46 +0200

I was shocked when I read 45001 wakeups over the last 197 seconds

So I run

log show --style syslog | fgrep "Wake reason"

To see what was causing the wakeups, and I got that:

Many sources, including the thread I linked at the beginning of my post, blame USB for that, and they claim that the problem resolved after they got a custom made DSDT. The DSDT I have currently, provided to me by @AudioGod, works fine, but could it be that I have to compile my own for my system?

Thanks a lot!

PS1: I also attach my "Energy Saver" settings here as a screenshot.

PS2: My pmset -g  output:

PS3: In my system, mDNSResponder daemon is running, I saw people in older posts blame discoveryd and mDNSResponder for wakeups, could it be true? Is it running in your systems as well? I'm hesitating to disable it in fear of messing up my DNS or something like that.

I have the Efi set up for full native USB with no port limits at all with the pro, no edits are needed in any way shape or form to the ssdt. Your welcome to alter but it’s totally pointless and unnecessary bud. Your on a total fruitless lol

use my EFI vanilla with no edits to the ssdt and your get exactly the same results.

Also FixRTC causes issues with shutdown after sleep and that’s the reason why myself and MaLD0n didn’t use it in this dsdt.  Myself Larabee, MaLD0n and a few others have done our best to make a native pro EFI and your never get one that fits all and that’s why I have alternative dsdt for is your using a vega or Rx card etc.
The EFI has been downloaded close to 1000 times now with 99% of people happy (bar the DRMGATE crew that like to blame me for it) so I think your over thinking it bud making changes that are completely pointless but hey if it makes you feel good then who am I to comment lol

It's just for testing only, i want it to be like in the description for the mobo:). Redid while solving the problem with disconnecting the USB hub after sleep. It turned out to be necessary to lower the memory frequency to 2666. Can this be solved differently? Thanks for help.

How strange,

I have 2 usb hubs on my build, one coming off the usb 2 hub and the other coming off the rear usbc and I’ve never had any disconnecting after sleep from them on a pro or master board and I have 32gb of ddr4 @3600mhz and it’s all fine on my end. Hhhmmmm

have you checked your ram to make sure it’s ok using memtestx86?

@AudioGod, I think you misunderstood me mate, no one blamed the EFI you made - for which me and many others are thankful - all I'm saying is that I try to find a way to stop those random wakeups during sleep and so far I haven't found something that would make them stop.

Cheers

@panosru don’t install RC Scripts when using native NVRam (Aptiomemoryfix.efi)

as for what is going on with your wakes from sleep. It does look like something connected to your usb chain is causing it. Have you tried disconnecting all your devices bar your keyboard and mouse and see if it helps so you can see if that’s the cause!

I'm trying to do that, it takes quite a lot of time to isolate such an issue; thus I thought that if I share the problem, somebody who have the same might have already found a solution. :)

Strange for me too. I have 2 similar desktops with same hardware in the signature. I use USB-C hub "Satechi All-in-one ports" and have the same problem after sleep on second desktop. You don't have problem with Corsair Vengeance Pro? May be you could show your memory steppings?

yes of course you can bud. :)

im not in front of my hack right now but once I’m back home il copy them out and send them across to you.

@artstp1 sorry I forgot to say, no I have zero issues with my Corsair pro ram. It’s rated at 3466 and I do a gentle oc on it too 3600mhz (16 18 18 38)@1.37v

@artstp1 are you using XMP enabled on your memory without any other changes  and using slot a2 b2? (Furthest slot from the cpu is b2)

if not then do so and try again, also manually set your ram voltage to 1.35v and give it a try.

AudioGod is a master. That was the easiest build/boot/install hackintosh I have ever done. I was about to give up on Hackintosh, but your EFI made it a breeze. Thank you!!!

I have a couple of questions. I have the same motherboard w/ Radeon Vii. Do I need to do the CFG Unlock (MSR) F11 BIOS Profile? What is the advantage of it? My system seems to run pretty well with your recommended BIOS settings.

Also, in order for me to get audio from the line-out on the motherboard I have to select "Internal Speakers" on System Preferences. Is this normal? There are two "Line Out" options on the preferences window that seem to do nothing.

Thanks again!

I’m glad it’s all working well for you buddy, that’s awesome :)

internal speakers is correct yes and if you running sweet as you are then there’s no need to unlock your MSR but it doesn’t hurt to do it all the same.

The only thing I've noticed is that when playing back footage in FCPX and in Resolve, the playback within the app is not smooth. It seems like it drops frame rate and there is a delay in the audio. I have my monitor connected via HDMI at the moment. When I render it's super fast though. Will unlocking the MSR help? Again, I have a Radeon VII. Thanks.

that sounds more Internet, WiFi or Catalina related then anything else to me.

if your using the kext airportfixup then try removing it and reboot and try again or if your not using it then try again with it in place.
it could also be related to the dreaded DRM issues within MacOS at the moment, if that’s the case you just got to sit tight until It gets fixed via Apple or WEG or both.

The only Benefit to having your MSR unlocked really is to give more space allocation to the NVRam. Since it’s only a very simple matter of loading in a bios profile then really you should just do it anyway fella.

Thanks for the help. Removing the airportfixup kext corrected audio sync, dramatically improved playback performance and overall feel of OS and mouse is more fluid. Playback is still not 100% smooth, but that may be because I'm using a 4k TV with HDMI. I will test later with a proper monitor via displayport. Thanks mate!

hey guys, I have two old 30 inch apple Cinema HD Monitors, and since my RX 580 only has one Dual Link DVI Output  would like to add a second GPU to my Hackintosh. I already tried with a display port to DVI Adapter (from Club 3D, unfortunately it does not work). Does anyone have any suggestions on how to pull that off? what do I need to consider when adding a second GPU like a RX 580 again? What changes do I have to make in the Clover Editor? (Sorry I am a newbie to Hackintosh)

Thank you in advance

This is the only adapter I know works with Dual Link DVI. I use it with my Radeon VII and my 30" Apple Cinema Display. Works perfectly. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003XYBA72/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_iRr6DbB3XGZ2X

well,  I already spent almost 100Bucks on an adapter (https://www.club-3d.com/en/detail/2479/displayport_auf_dual_link_dvi_i_aktiver_adapter/) which supposedly works with the apple Cinema HD Display, so I would much rather buy another rx580 which costs me 200 Bucks and I would have additional computing power for final cut and other projects...

thank you though.

you have made some strange changes to the EFI bud.

why are you using keyboard and mouse usb kexts? smchelper. audiotex. DataHubDxe, bios folder ?

you dont need any of these to use my efi. a lot of what your trying to do is already done by the DSDT and ssdt. Take your config.plist and try it in a vanilla version of my efi and see if you get the same if not better result.

Also Change your audio layout from 1 to 7 under devices

Ok man, thnx 4 the info. I will cleanup and post results.

Ever since installing fresh on an NVME, I've had intermittent problems with boot, where sometimes I get the NO circle slash sign, but then after restarting it would boot. Now suddenly it won't boot from the NVME at all. I don't have any problems with my regular SSD. The NVME is a WD blue 500GB. Just incase, I downloaded the NVME express driver but still no boot. Any suggestions on how to fix it? Thank you.

Now suddenly it won't boot from the NVME at all. I don't have any problems with my regular SSD. The NVME is a WD blue 500GB. Just incase, I downloaded the NVME express driver but still no boot. Any suggestions on how to fix it? Thank you.
