lude
Hi! I have some trouble playing uncompressed HD in fcp when zoomed 100% or in full screen. It works perfect in Quicktime player, what gives?. Also performance in after effects using OpenGL acceleration "always on" is way slower than on PC(bootcamp)... It might be because of rosetta but OpenGL shouldnt be affected right? Is there any tweaking softwares for nvidia on osx? Or tweaked drivers? I come from PC land... so I need some tweky stuff! I Have a Macpro with bogstandard 7300GT btw ... lude
Korrupted
Anything that runs in Rosetta will always be slower than native, even OpenGL. Case in point: I run WCIII on my MBP and even it slows down from time to time when there is a lot of stuff happening on screen since it's a PPC only game at the moment. lounger540
I believe in Quicktime Player some formats are set by default to not play at 'High Quality'. I know Quicktime DV files do this. Click View -> 'Show Movie Properties' Select the Video track and look for the High Quality check box. See if you get slower resaults with it checked. lude
After effects is rosetta... That is what I am talking about, I know FCP is UB. And its not a decoding setting in quicktime I think. It could be FCP doing some trying some "realtime" conversion... but this problem of framedropping is there both when playing the clip and putting it in a sequence that is HD uncompressed. Weird... shootncut
How fast are your hard drives. Real uncompressed HD requires a raid. It's not your cards fault. If you can give some more spec as to your files and mac I could help you through it. Shootncut
lude
Yeah my drives are fast enough. As I stated in my question it plays fine in quicktime player... i got around 200MB/sec sustained data rate.
