Can you elaborate on how you modified the BIOS settings? Set hibernatemode 0 for your Pmset,, And write detail your problem. 4 hours ago, Riley Freeman said: Figured it out. Renamed EC0 via a Clover patch instead of through DSDT (where I had to rename a stack of matching entries to get the DSDT to compile). Did anyone else lose their battery info in System Profiler after renaming EC0 to EC? I couldn't install the latest Catalina build until I did this and now my charge and cycle count values show "-1". This is in Sierra and Catalina. Rolling back my previous DSDT with EC0 untouched fixes the problem, but breaks Catalina. I'm using VoodooBatterySMC from the latest HWSensors from Slice (r241). You can't just rename EC0 to EC in DSDT only,, some SSDT OEM have EC0 in their code. This will trouble you. So Rename EC0 to EC in config.plist is best solution (clover will rename all EC0 to EC in DSDT and SSDT OEM)
Riley Freeman
I've noticed one difference here between Sierra and Catalina with the Clover EC0 rename patch. When I renamed EC0 in the DSDT AppleBusPowerControllerUSB showed up under the renamed EC in both systems. Now with the Clover patch it only shows up in Sierra, not Catalina. So...I think in your case, the source of the issue might be different...? Do you get KP? If so, can you post the report you get after reboot? It might be different. I think your issue might actually be related to the iGPU. Unless your experience says otherwise. Anyway, this is for my desktop motherboard (and probably other desktop motherboards, as well). Similar naming. 5 hours ago, Andres ZeroCross said: Set hibernatemode 0 for your Pmset,, And write detail your problem. SavageAUS
I've noticed one difference here between Sierra and Catalina with the Clover EC0 rename patch. When I renamed EC0 in the DSDT AppleBusPowerControllerUSB showed up under the renamed EC in both systems. Now with the Clover patch it only shows up in Sierra, not Catalina.I am using a fake ec device (Z170x) and am having the same issue, no more AppleBusPowerControllerUSB in ioreg on Catalina. I haven’t tested other versions of macOS as I’m only running 10.15. The EC device is in ioreg it’s just missing its entry for AppleBusPowerControllerUSB. arsradu
If this is a real MacPro 2010, for Mojave, you can use dosdude1's patcher. But...indeed, there doesn't seem to be one for Catalina...yet. Not sure if you can install Mojave and then update to Catalina. Not sure if that will work. Never used it. So...I don't know. But anyway, as Mat said, we would need to know more about that hardware first.

This happened to me when I installed Catalina. For me, I had a kext in ~/Library/Extensions that was causing the problem. I don't recall the name of the kext but it had AHCI in its name. The LATEST OS for a Mid-2010 Mac Pro 5,1 is Mojave. NOW, can Catalina be "forced" onto a 5,1??? I'm sure someone will find a way to do it, BUT will it be stable??? Take the Mac Pro 5,1 to Mojave, (sans ANY NVIDIA Cards), and be happy to get it that far. Mine is on High Sierra, AND will stay that way because of my need to HAVE to have NVIDIA Cards for CUDA Number Crunching for SETI@Home. ymmv

ASentientBot
Hey all! If you're using my wrapped frameworks on DP9 and experiencing PerfPowerServices crashes, please install the newest version here. I figured I should post this here (actually my first message on this site, I think!) because it's sort of a "silent" problem that could go unnoticed but impact performance/stability. I'll try to keep up with this thread a bit more going forward, so feel free to @ me if you notice any weird behaviors. Though I do admit I'm not really knowledgeable in the hackintosh field. oSxFr33k
AppleBacklightFixup.kext not working in Catalina any possible fix? My LCD brightness has worked all the way up to and including Mojave now broken in Catalina. The device is in my description signature below, Asus G750JX Intel integrated graphics disabled by ASus only discrete Nvidia GTX770M enabled working natively. PNLF working fine, I have the apple brightness animation increment/decrement but the display does not change brightness. Have you tried ig-platform-id 0x3EA50009? If that doesn't make a difference, try these, as well. 0x3E920009 (mobile, 3 connectors, no fbmem) 0x3E9B0009 (mobile, 3 connectors, no fbmem) 0x3EA50000 (mobile, 3 connectors, no fbmem) 0x3E920000 (mobile, 3 connectors, no fbmem) 0x3E000000 (mobile, 3 connectors, no fbmem) 0x3E9B0000 (mobile, 3 connectors, no fbmem) 0x3EA50004 (mobile, 3 connectors, no fbmem) 0x3E9B0006 (mobile, 1 connectors, no fbmem) Also, how are you adding the ig-platform-id to your config? As Device property? Or...under Graphics (+ Inject Intel)? Could you, please, upload your config? Also, for all these tests, please, use a USB drive, in order to avoid going into an unbootable system. Or use a test config and boot from that. As you wish. Just try to have a backup. It helps a lot. Edited September 26, 2019 by arsradu

May I know how can you disable IGPU and enable Nvidia GTX770M in your Asus G750JX laptop ? Is it via DSDT/SSDT ? If so, can you share your DSDT/SSDT for me ? Because I can enable IGPU with disabled Nvidia GXT880M by DSDT/SSDT only at present in my Asus G750JZ laptop, its performance from HD4600 was not so good. But Optimus Nvidia GTX880M was not supported by Mac OS X according to my knowledge. Edited September 26, 2019 by jsl2000
