Yes it works, as i said above, no more Lapic panics, boots 10.15.0.19A487l correctly.

No problems anymore

Also, can anyone post the fakesmc.kext that boots Catalina.

Does the Mojave version boot the Catalina or is there a new one available.

Thanks and regards

I'm using mainly the HDMI output but also tried DP and they both work the same.

Yep...I just tried HDMI...and I've got the exact same issue. :))) So...I'm back to WTF is going on here? :))

Yes.

What ig-platform-id did you set?

I'm using 0x0d220003. Same one I'm using with Mojave (no issues there). Same config, so, of course all the settings are exactly the same.

And how it is going with 0x67?

It is the same.

In fact, I realized that it fails if you're trying to use the command right after a fresh boot/reboot but oddly, it succeeds after a while. I don't really know what's going on but it seems that the system needs a moment to allow write access to the protected folders such as /System or /Library.

Again, this is non-sense to me but I'm definitely not an expert on the matter :D!

@polyzargone We're definitely up to something with that iGPU theory.

The issue does NOT occur anymore with that ig-platform-id. However, with that ID, the iGPU is not recognised anymore in About this Mac -> System Report -> Graphics, whereas it is recognised (with proper VRAM and all) with the other one. But of course, with the previous ig-platform-id, I'm having wake issues.

Yes, it's because the IGPU now have "headless" connectors. In other words, there's no video (and audio?) outputs attached to it but it's still functional. That's also the way to activate QuickSync.

This is my understanding but I may be very wrong so guys, feel free to correct me :D.

Thing is....I never needed to patch my HDMI Audio on the iGPU.... I never used it. And everything was fine in terms of sleep/wake...until Catalina, apparently. So...while there are multiple ways to fix QuickLook and Preview...I'd like to have the iGPU enabled and properly recognised, if possible.

Now, since the error seems to pertain to HDMI Audio, and since mine is definitely not configured in any way for my HD 4600, wouldn't be better (on the long term), to actually patch HDMI Audio? I know there's a way to do it with Clover's kext-to-patch. And I've already found some patches. But they're really old, so I'm not sure they're still accurate for this case.

What do you think? What would you do? Would you fix HDMI Audio for the iGPU, as well? Or would you just give up on that and simply use that "headless" connector method?

Anyway, many thanks for the tip. It was right on point. :)

When I saw the error, I thought it's because of the HDMIAudio on my RX 580, which actually works perfectly fine, with no patches. It never crossed my mind that it could actually be about my iGPU HDMI Audio instead.

First of all you have to read everything from here and compile your own OpenCore. Adapting to clover wont help. Your processor have to be haswell I don't know if it works on others, but you could try. EFI.zip
