tuxuser33
Hi favalessa, try to manage your network by moving en3 to en1. Thats the way OSX handles the wlan-interface. Delete networkinterfaces. Make sure your first working internal ethernet and wlan-card are alone in the system. Disable others like Firewire in BIOS / remove addon-cards. Reboot let recognise interfaces again. Probably delete kextcache befor. Good luck! Edited February 13, 2007 by tuxuser33

muhammadbeig
hi guys.. this is a good software worked great at first.. you know i needed to replug after every boot but that didn't bother me much, but now... it works the first time after the boot, i have to give the WPA password and it works.. but just for like a minute.. after that.. it wont matter, it DOES NOT work.. i can do whatever, bang my head against it, doesnt work does anyone have any clue to why this is happening and what is the remedy? besides re installing osx.. and yea, my system specs are: 10.4.8 Jas, Inspiron 9300, ATI x300 mobility.. d-link G-122 usb wireless.. what else would anyone want to know? Thanks guys, keep up the good work !!
MaxL
Hi. Unfortunately, the replug feature doesn't work I have a JaS 10.4.8 installed at Samsung X11 laptop, USB WiFi is ASUS WL-167g on Railink RT2500 chipset. I've installed the v15 driver, but still should replug the device manually after restart. Then I installed the separated replug patch, reboot the machine and device plugged automatically, but the at next reboot situation became old - no automatic replug. Please, give me a hand. Thanx! BlueWing
I also have a RT2500 based PCI card. It is a Canyon CN-WF511, product description is here: Canyon CN-WF511 In Windows it shows up as Ralink RT2561 802.11g Turbo Wireless Network Adapter. ioreg gives the following: +-o pci1814,301@2 <class IOPCIDevice, registered, matched, active, busy 0, retain count 7> { "IODeviceMemory" = (({"address"=18446744073687498752,"length"=32768})) "device-id" = <01030000> "IOChildIndex" = 1 "name" = "pci1814,301" "IOName" = "pci1814,301" "vendor-id" = <14180000> "revision-id" = <00000000> "IOPCIResourced" = Yes "subsystem-vendor-id" = <14180000> "Power Management private data" = "{ this object = 044e6780, interested driver = 044e6780, driverDesire = 0, deviceDesire = 0, ourDesiredPowerState = 2, previousRequest = 2 }" "IOInterruptControllers" = ("io-apic-0") "Power Management protected data" = "{ theNumberOfPowerStates = 3, version 1, power state 0 = { capabilityFlags 00000000, outputPowerCharacter 00000000, inputPowerRequirement 00000000, sta$ "class-code" = <00800200> "compatible" = <"pci1814,2561","pci1814,301","pciclass,028000"> "assigned-addresses" = <10100482000000000080affe0000000000800000> "subsystem-id" = <"a%"> "reg" = <0010040000000000000000000000000000000000101004020000000000000000000000000080 000> "IOInterruptSpecifiers" = (<1700000007000000>) } I have tried to load the latest drivers from Ralnik's page with kextload but no luck: #kextload -t /System/Library/Extensions/RT61CardBusDriver.kext kextload: extension /System/Library/Extensions/RT61CardBusDriver.kext appears to be valid 17RT61CardBusDriver is not compatible with its superclass, 20IOEthernetController superclass changed? kextload: a link/load error occured for kernel extension /System/Library/Extensions/RT61CardBusDriver.kext load failed for extension /System/Library/Extensions/RT61CardBusDriver.kext (run kextload with -t for diagnostic output) I would be glad to see it working in OSX86, if you need any other info drop a message. chickenMACnugget
Help Guys, I would be pulling my hair out but I haven't any!!! On March 13th I installed the RT2500 Replug from the developers own link. Up until then I was quite happily using a D-Link DWL G122 USB adapter, hardware vB1 firmware v1.0 on a PowerPC 733mhz G4 (2.0). Admittedly I had to unplug and replug the device once booted but this was a minor inconvenience compared to not having wireless access at all for nearly two weeks. I am running OSX 10.3.9. I have had no joy from the developer, Thomas Walter who suggested it might be a problem with my ISP!! For two weeks I have been coming home and trying different drivers and following solutions posted above and elsewhere. I have tried so much I have lost track of what I have done. All I can say is that the best attempt resulted in a connection that quickly dropped but more often than not (and currently) the pen is no longer recognised by the System Profiler and responds to nothing, not even shouting. Previously the adapter had been working for about a year or so. I no longer have a copy of the original drivers which I had tracked down through a forum similar to this one. It is so frustrating to know this hardware worked. Oh how I wish I had never seen Replug!!
Maccidental
Oh that is so SO very very harsh. I'd love to look at the source you were working with, I've a particular USB device I need supported and I think I'm going to have to code it myself. riws
Why no use the prefPane based wifi connection tool? Its more like Airport. I have the Linksys wusb54g
macgirl
That tool is based on Zydas drivers, so maybe your USB has a Zydas chipset instead of the Ralink chipset.
riws
My wusb54g is v4 with ralink chipset, it works with ralink tool too. And the tool came with one D-Link usb wifi dongle drivers, that D-Link has rt2500 inside too.
noptuno
Is there anything for the Linksys or ralink threw PCI kexts, or something we can send you over or something to know about? yet? What are the news Is what I mean... lol, dont keep news for yourself! hehe if theres anything we can help please tell us...
chickenMACnugget
Well I would always use the GUI first if that were ever an option. However because the adapter is not discovered anymore I do not have any configuration options. I have a feeling I need to flush out the entire system in order to recover any control over the adapter. This means getting down and dirty in unknown KEXT places. I am now thinking outside of the box and will fix this another way....................ebay!! I have just picked up an original Airport Card. It's made by Apple, for Apple and just works. But thanks anyway guys.
