I already use them, I use the same kexts as yours... May I join you both config.plist (USB2 only and USB3 only)...

config USB2 only.plist

config USB3 only.plist

@Charles375

Try different SMBIOS, maybe iMac 18,3 for High Sierra. I never tested my Aorus Pro Z390 Hackintosh build with macOS High Sierra, so unfortunately I'm not going to be able to advise.

Aorus Pro Z390 Hackintoshers can update to Clover r4934  and  WhateverGreen.kext v1.2.9 ( NoVPA.Jpeg.kext no longer required with the latest version of WhatEverGreen )

I updated it all with no problems what so ever, thank for your help as always.

I used kext updater to upgrade whatever green and I notice there's a SSDT along with the kext. should I use it or ignore it buddy?

kext updater also updated my lilu and applealc too. :)

Then I won't use it either.

Something I have discovered is I've got a load of rgb corsair bits and I have found that having erp enabled in the bios is much much better as when I power off the system it cuts the power to all USB devices properly enabling all my rgb {censored} to shut off and my USB audio device to shut down, however if i have it disabled then my keyboard and mouse's rgb lighting freak out after shutdown and my USB audio device stays on.

Same thing in windows so I think erp enabled is defo the correct choice of the two buddy.

Definitely sounds the better option then, will update guide. Will also test later that it does not interfere with MacOS installation.

Cheers :thumbsup_anim:

@AudioGod

Hi, seems that having erp enabled on causes problem when turning Aorus Pro on at the mains socket.

Problem

1- When pressing the wall ac mains socket from off position to on, the Aorus Pro briefly powers up and then immediately powers down.  ( this happens without pressing power button on case / chassis )

2- Hackintosh resumes normal startup when pressing the power button.

Ah yes the white mains power up flash. That's normal with asus and gigabyte boards. I've been seeing that for many years now. I don't think it's a fault of any sort though. Il double check but I'm pretty sure it's a little power on self test of some sort.

Update - what's happening is when erp is enabled and you power up from the mains for the first time the psu is briefly allowing power though the system before the erp kicks in and shuts everything off. The reverse effect is too have something that lights up hooked into a USB slot and shut down the system with erp off and the lights will remain lit up in the USB device because erp hasn't kicked in and shut off the USB power fully. If you like to charge stuff with the system off via USB then leave erp disabled but if like me you have loads of stuff hooked up via USB and more so if it lights up or is rgb then leave it enabled or power keeps going to the devices even though the system is off.

I hope that helps buddy.

I've followed this guide a month or so ago and got my whole system up and running flawlessly. Thanks @glasgood!

However, yesterday I've updated from macOS 10.14.4 to 10.14.5 and now I have a problem. When booting the progress bar underneath the apple logo gets to around 75 percent, but then my monitor loses signal. It takes 20 - 30 seconds before the monitor gets a new signal with the login screen being shown. Other than this everything works perfect.

My system specs are:

Motherboard: Gigabyte Z390 AORUS PRO

Processor: Intel Core i7-9700K

Graphics: IGPU (UHD630)

RAM: 16 GB

Storage: SAMSUNG SSD 830 Series

SMBIOS: iMac18,1

Do you guys know, what the problem could be? Of course the Framebuffer patches are in my config.plist, I didn't change anything there before or after updating to 10.14.5.

Oh, and something funny I've noticed: Since updating to 10.14.5 in the About this Mac section it says I have a 3,6 GHz Intel Core i9, but as you can see in my specs list, it's an i7. I guess that comes from the new iMacs not having a 9th gen i7 but an i9 instead.

Hi, not sure what is causing monitor to lose signal briefly. Maybe updating to latest Clover version could resolve this. You could try testing SMBIOS 19,1.

Thanks for explaining, I decided to keep erp disabled on my hack :thumbsup_anim:

I don't like power running though the system while in an off state as it will be pushing a min of 1amp and a few watts though each USB output maybe slightly more. If you plug your phone into the system while it's off does it start charging? if so and it's a modern phone then you know its pushing out more, I don't like the thought of that.. lol

Thanks! Switching to iMac19,1 did the trick for me :thumbsup_anim: Changing the cpu type didn't do it for me, but that's okay, it doesn't bother me as it doesn't affect the performance in any way. Thank you!

Hello again, changing SMBIOS to iMac 18,3 and removing USB kexts lines was the solution thank you! :)

Now I'm tryin to setup the on board audio...

AppleALC.kext and realtekALC.kext are installed in kext->Other

There is Audio category with output list in System Report/Audio/Intel High Definition Audio but no Output device on System Preferences/Sound... Any advice?

Hey @glasgood I've just tested the new EFI folder and I'm having problems with Final Cut Pro again :( I'm sticking to the older one.

One tip: It would be nice if you posted all the old EFI folders of every update you make. Maybe someone can learn something or just finds it useful.

Thank you very much! I've followed your guide and everything is working like a charm!

This is my first desktop Hackintosh and with your guide it was pretty straightforward :)

My build:

- Gigabyte Aorus Z390 Pro

- Intel i5-8400 (leaving space for future upgrades)

- 2x Crucial Ballistic Sport Lt 8GB

- Kingston A400 SSD Sata3 (Hackintosh)

- Adata XPG Gammix S10 M.2 PCIe SSD. (Windows 10)

- Thermaltake Tt V200 and Thermaltake Smart RGB 600w PSU

- TP-Link AC1900 Archer T9e Wi-Fi

- Using iGPU because I'm still waiting for the GPU to arrive (Sapphire Pulse RX580 8GB)

One comment: The XPG Gammix S10 M.2 PCIe SSD DIDN'T WORK OK for MacOS. After installation (that took a while) my mouse was laggy every time I copied a file. Did a Benchmark with Blackmagic and found that the SSD was running as low as 40 MB/s for reading...

Tested with another partition in Windows and was working correctly (like 1500MB/s), so I changed the Mac installation to the SATA drive and the Windows to the M.2.

Second comment: I've tested FHD video editing with integrated graphics and was pretty surprised how well it did to manage everything.

Big thanks from Argentina!

@mfortuna What EFI folder are you using, intel or RX580, and does your machine now have RX580 ?

Here it is, I removed Firmware.scap to save space

EFI Charles no sound.zip

@Charles375

Realtek ALC1220-VB has layout-id 1 (Audio Inject = 1) on Aorus Z390 Pro.  No need to use realtekALC.kext and AppleALC.kext at same time.

EFI Charles no sound.zip

Best!

Thank you, I've tried all layouts (and the EFI you re-sent me) but nothing works, I still have only HDMI Output in Sound Preferences
