Should work, no harm in trying it ! :)

So I just converted over to the new iMacPro1,1 with the updated EFI files, but I'm booting to a black screen (I've got an RX560). Machine is working fine as I can remote desktop into it, just not sure how to get the display to work.

I do have a second card (nvidia) in PCI slot 1 for windows (RX560 is in default slot 0). I've been using the Designare SSDT to disable the 2nd slot video card, not sure if that could be causing issues now.

Let me know if anyone has ideas on how to get the display working again with the 560. Thanks!

860 Pro works just fine. Only Evo Plus has problem.

Evo plus has been fine for me after the release of the updated Samsung firmware.

I don't recommend using it because of the compatibility issue with older firmware. I don't have the chance to test with new firmware because I returned it immediately.

I always recommend the Pro over the Evo line up when you have the $ because MLC vs TLC NAND.

and... I know for the fact that @AudioGod is sitting on a pile of money as high as Eiffel tower.

I'm back up and running based on some comments from @soniferous_fox - I removed the RX580 SSDT and used clover's injectATI. When I tried specifying the Orinoco framebuffer, still got black screen, but when I remove framebuffer and let clover figure it out, my display output works again.

I also got the weird headphones output with the new audio layout ID, so reverted that back to what it was before. Now to benchmark!

Most of us are on F10. You might want to try that first and follow the bios settings in the first post.

Weird that some people are getting a headphone output with audio layout id 16. This is what I see:

although I think layout id 1 also showed similar outputs. Use what works... :)

With layout 16, the entire thing is messed up for me, so I stick with Layout 1.

Please at least update for BIOS F9, pay attention to Serial Port, it must be disabled. I had the same error before when I forgot to disable my Serial Port.

I have been looking in to this a bit more, and looking in IOReg, all 5 ports are showing, but shows NONE on the type of the 3rd port, so clearly my Graphics card doesn't't like the Orinoco Frame buffer for some reason. By the way, I was able to get the Orinoco frame buffer as well by just using the Graphics section in Clover, without the SSDT - in fact when I did that, whilst the 3rd screen didn't work, I actually got an even better score on Geekbench doing it that way (ticking InjectATI, adding the FB Name and the number of video ports). I may actually try some different FB names and see if they work.

@soniferous_fox

I did initially try specifying Orinoco, number of video ports and inject ATI and it did not work, but at that time I also had Acpi fixDisplay enabled. I just retried and framebuffer working via Clover Graphics section.

Indeed, it's strange. :) what version of AppleALC are you using ?  I'm using AppleALC 1.3.9

So while the display is working now on bootup with the clover inject ATI (and no specific framebuffer defined) - I just found out it won't wake from sleep anymore. I've confirmed Acpi FixDisplay is unchecked and I'm running the latest EFI folder (without SSDT-RX-580.aml). Getting close...

So here's where I'm at so far with regards to getting the RX560 working on the new iMacPro1,1 platform. This was all done with the SSDT-RX-580.aml patch removed.

  • The display will NOT initialize on bootup with the orinoco frame buffer and ATI inject (or with the RX-580.aml patch)
  • The display works on bootup with the acre frame buffer and ATI inject
  • The display works on bootup with no frame buffer specified and ATI inject
  • The display works on bootup with no ATI inject at all (?)
  • When waking from sleep, the monitor comes out of power save mode, but is blank

On the previous iMac19,1 setup, I was using a designare SSDT patch to disable the GPU in PCI slot 2. This doesn't appear to work anymore on this new iMacPro1,1 setup, as I can see the nvidia card PCI information in system info. Not sure if that could be contributing to the wake issues.

Make sure that FixDisplay is not enabled

Ok, I figured it out. I'm using 1.3.9 also.

Layout ID 16, for Gigabyte Z390 ALC1220 according to AppleALC, uses the F_AUDIO header for Internal Speaker and back panel Line Out for Headphone switching.

Layout ID 1 uses the F_AUDIO header for Headphone switching (more appropriate since it's connected to your case) and back panel Line Out for Internal Speaker.

Stick with Layout ID 1. I'm guessing whoever created the definition for Layout ID 16 wasn't using our Aorus Pro motherboard.

Right, it is not enabled. I'm using your latest EFI folder (with updated serial info, etc). I'm going to try a few more things, maybe pull the slot 2 graphics card to see if that is causing issues. Thanks!

Please refer to your manual for this, I will get you a screenshot when I have a chance, not in front my my Z390 board at this moment.

Oh! I see. Still not stellar like you guys. Are you guys overclocking?

uhh... glasgood is using a RX580, I'm using a vega56 with undervolting , and AudioGod is using a overclock-to-the-max rig vega56. So, the results are much higher than yours.

With RX570, your result looks normal to me.

@MaLd0n has kindly helped to transform the EFI, now with native NVRAM and DSDT. Have a look through the new EFI. Everything working great. EFI is perfect and minimum.

Uses Whatevergreen.kext version 1.3.0 and is very stable, all  port connectors on back of my RX 580 working ( @soniferous_fox ) however if updating to Whatevergreen version1.3.1 then

one of the display ports may not function.  Have not tested this out with SMBIOS for iMac 19,1.  OsxAptioFix3Drv.efi  driver now replaced with AptioMemoryFix.

Whatevergreen should detect your graphics card, see my guide on how to easily change framebuffer.

:thumbsup_anim::thumbsup_anim: MASSIVE THANK YOU TO @MaLd0n  :thumbsup_anim::thumbsup_anim:

Amazing. So, do I need to change anything for it to work with my Vega?

What evergreen should detect your Vega card. I added a section in guide part 10 detailing how to easily change frame buffer using Clover Configurator.  But try bench  marks again with and without framebuffer change.

As I mentioned, have not yet tried out EFI with SMBIOS for iMac 19,1 if you or @AudioGod have time to spare testing it with iMac 19,1 then I would a appreciate it :)

I'm changing my framebuffer in the config.plist file and the Kamarang name is not in the list, so I just typed it in. Not sure if that works or not, trying it out haha.
