I will be receiving my final part in the mail tomorrow and will begin the process of setting up the Hackintosh. I bought a lot of the parts described in this thread with some minor differences. - Motherboard - z390 aosus pro WiFi - intel i7, 8700k - Corsair H115i pro - G.skill tridents rgb 32gb - sapphire pulse radeon rx580 - hp ex950 m.2 2280 1tb nvme - Broadcom bcm94360csax with pci-e adapter Im hoping this install goes smoothly especially since I’m using the Z390 WiFi version. Thank you for all the time and resources you have put into this thread, it is so well put together! I will keep you updated in the process. I will be starting it tomorrow! Follow BIOS settings closely, keep XMP disabled and don't overclock CPU until macOS is installed and running smoothly. When macOS is installed and confirmed running stable then proceed with overclocks, enable XMP etc.. if needed. Best!
glasgood
@AudioGod Looking through your Log, I noticed you have different defaults: My Gui section in config.plist is minimal. SetMaxResolution: 2560x1440 is auto detected for my Dell U2715h monitor.

Can you attach your EFI, mind remove serial numbers etc.. The Clover default ( white-ish ) colour can be changed to dark charcoal-ish colour by removing "random" from Gui. Here you go buddy, I changed my theme over to a new one last night called neon so no more tonymacx86 theme here...lol I got to the bottom of the random boot freeze at startup though, It was my SSD drive, In windows I had Samsung magician installed and it had turned on its ssd boost feature in windows and it was freaking out clover I think as the second I turned it back off it hasn't froze since so fingers crossed that's that sorted. Also fingers crossed you find something a miss resolution wise. If the EFI folder and my changes are good then your welcome to list it as an alternative EFI for people with a 9900k and Vega 56 Thank you for taking the time out to look at my problem bro, Your a top draw good guy. What is the screen resolution of your monitor ? Its 2160p (4k) I used the neon theme instead now as it looks great even at my stuck resolution. I'm thinking it's just the way it is with my vega 56 as researching it online last night I found a good few other people with the same problem using a vega card. Am I correct in thinking I should deselect dark in enbedded theme mode under gui in clover and make it blank as I'm using my own theme? I'm going to reinstall mojave later on to my spare ssd to play with your alternative way of installing macos so I will stick my efi inside it and see if it does the same thing resolution wise as a test to see if its something to do with me changing over my GPU. TBH I doubt it's that but il try anyway otherwise I give up! LoL If I was too put my efi onto my usb mojave install key as a resolution test would that work too? Just as a test. Can you try the following, if 3840x2160 does not work then try 2560x1440 : Reboot and test. If still same then enable Patch VBIOS.
glasgood
@AudioGod Another thing to explore . would be to test the change from other OS to Windows 8/10. 190624103518.BMP
glasgood
@AudioGod You could also try Windows 8/10 WHQL, though it might cause problem with unsigned windows drivers used in Windows ( if any ) . Test with patch VBios off . Edited June 24, 2019 by glasgood

Theres no bios update for the card that I can find either. Hmmmmmmmm Also I noticed that as you.know I have erp enabled on my system as standard and when my system is sleeping in this mode it will wake it self up for email or notifications then go back to sleep and downloads will also continue all as it should do but yesterday I switched erp off and didn't turn it back on just seeing if it was causing the res issue (yes I was clutching at straws...haha) but what I did notice while it was off is that sleep and wake behaviour that I just mentioned doesn't work in the same manner if at all. Check that one out for yourself and your see what I mean Edited June 24, 2019 by AudioGod

Please go back and change DVMT pre-allocated to 256 and disable XMP if enabled.... have same settings for BIOS as shown in guide. The EFI is attached, I'll revert the bios settings back to a bios screen dump you sent me earlier. Like before, using the pre-install EFI on my rescue usb gives me no problems during boot. I found a new bios for my Pulse Vega56 and in the notes it mentioned it resolved random boot panics that was something I was seeing but thought I fixed it by updating my ssd bios as it hasn't happened since but anyway I updated my bios on the vega 56 and then rebooted and had to go into my motherboard bios after that and turn off CSM Support (that I prefer off anyway if not needed) and BAM the clover boot screen popped up in glorious 2160p. What a process to get it too work though but it was defo the bios on the vega 56 that needed the update. Everything is looking spot on now and I've run out of things to do to my setup at long last...lol @larabee Could this be why your also getting random boot panics too? I can attach a copy of the bios update and updating tool for you if you want buddy? It's easy too flash. Just let me know and il upload it for you straight away.

Archive.zip Check BIOS settings are same as guide and replace your old EFI with ==>EFI inside Archive.zip then shutdown and restart, if you get a kernel panic then shutdown and restart. You will need to import your PCI info from hackintool After importing PCI info, ensure you have following CPU properties. I've had random boot panics with ATI Frame buffer. Will that affect its performance in windows? Performance has gone up in windows with the new bios. I just scored 7562 in timespy using a voltage of 1075 on p7 and 1025 on p6 1582, 1637 frequencies and 920 on the memory. That's nearly 100 points higher then before I flashed it. Try those settings on your vega56, it's a nice balance I think. I have posted the bios and flash tool plus a mini guide if needed. Let me know your results when you do it. Can you provide link to firmware update and some details for others with your card, I will link from guide to your post. If you own a Sapphire Pulse Vega 56 and your having problems with the clover bootscreen resolution or getting boot kernal panics at start up then the chances are that your graphics card is using an old bios that conflicts with macOS so all you need to do is flash your GPU bios using the new bios, flash tool and GPUZ that I have provided. If you don't know or are unsure on how to flash your GPU bios then here's simple guide to walk you though it and you are going to need to use the windows 10 side of life for the bios flash. https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/amd-ati-flashing-guide.212849/ After you have done that go into your motherboards bios and Disable CSM Support, restart the system and your clover boot screen should automatically go to your monitors default resolution and the random boot kernal panics should be gone. If your resolution is still stuck at the wrong size after that then all you need to do is set the resolution within your clover config.plist using Clover Configurator in the GUI section.
