I decide to include it thinking is a newer project. I have my second ethernet disabled, but I thought that is because I don't have any ethernet connector plugged in this port. I didn't realize that is because a failed driver. I'll check this. Thanks for the notice. On 12/7/2018 at 1:41 PM, Cass67 said: Anyone able to install the recent 002 or 003 security updates ? bilbo
important Well, I did a test with ethernet. Indeed, with IntelMausiEthernet.kext, the second port doesn't work. It is shown as unplugged , but plugging the connector, it stills as disconnected. With AppleIntelE1000e.kext , everything works fine. I have just updated the guide. Thanks to pingyes for the report. bilbo
@Pingyes, my first attemp with your settings to test SLEEP, gave me a KP. The patches "rename _DSM... " and "rename HECI...." don't make sense for me. The patches ticked in clover, either. Some of them are obsolete, or unnecessary after clean the dsdt, ... honestly I don't understand anything. Anyway, as I said, I get a KP. Could you elaborate a bit the reason of those patches? Are essential all of them? bilbo
still working on sleep... I tested the patches of pingyes screens. The "fixUSB" patch is the reason of KP. Testing with the rest of options, no way. BUT, I've discovered something (I suspected of this time ago). The reason for no sleep in my case, is my raid card, exactly, the driver SASMegaRAID (developed in this forum bay dukzcry) For those are testing, try to put in sleep mode, and then write this in terminal: pmset -g log | grep sleep | tail -n 1 in my case, the output is: System sleep preventers: SASMegaRAID and then , you'll see if you have an specific hardware which is preventing the sleep. bilbo
Another important topic is bios settings: These are my bios settings: Not sure 100% . Interestingly enough until 10.13.6 i never was able to get sleep to work.. Z620:~ cass$ pmset -g log | grep sleep | tail -n 1 Idle sleep preventers: IODisplayWrangler Always had that one put down to my Nvidia GPU keeping things awake in Sierra.. I swapped out GTX970 to a RX580 from AMD and got same results .. so was not that Now under HS i can get sleep to work, its waking up thats the problem.. System powers down ok and mouse / kb lights go out but when hitting kb to wake it, system powers on, fans spin up and then nothing, blank screen and no kb/mouse lights.. Guess i never bothered trying this under HS. Using FixWAK and FixShutdown in config.plist shuts system down ok then automatically wakes it up with the same results, a bit worse than needing a key press.. Not sure if playing with the darkwake settings will make a difference. Guess thats something else to play with when i can be bothered rebooting upto 11 times to see

antonio.clb
Hello to everybody! Just a quick update to inform you that I successfully updated my Z620 from High Sierra to Mojave 10.14.3! Need to get rid of my 1050 Ti and temporary put a GT 710 in order to have a decent display. My RX 560 is on the way, tomorrow I should be able to test it. The GT 710 doesn't have a DP port so I had to force the HDMI 1.4 to 2560x1440@50Hz by using this patch: https://github.com/Floris497/mac-pixel-clock-patch-V2 PM works the usual way (patched AICPM and custom SSDT), didn't figure out how to use CPUFriend... Best regards. AC
amadeusex
That's good news ! On my end, I've replaced my Graphics card (an Nvidia Gtx 740) with an RX580 which worked out of the box without any hassle. Can't praise that card enough now that the mining-craze came to a halt. But with that being said the cover inside the z280 doesn't fit anymore. Does anyone of you guys know a hack to put it back in? (with the GPU still installed of course)

Unfortunately, the cheap RX 560 card (Asrock with 2 GB RAM) doesn't work at all in my system: I'll stick with the glorious GT 710 1 GB RAM at 2560x1440@50Hz via HDMI. Great news. Nvidia's driver issue is a shame for apple. I wish they change of policies about that. I don't think change my 1080ti by any ati card. If apple doesn't support nvida cards, it will mean the end of hackintosh for me. I'll survive with windows and/or linux. 15 hours ago, amadeusex said: But with that being said the cover inside the z280 doesn't fit anymore. With the 1080 ti, I had to leave out the bottom cover also. The card has enough room to fit, but the power connectors placed at the long side (not at back /short side) prevent close it wit the bottom cover. I don´t care that. With the main side cover is enough. Maybe the air flow is not so perfect, now, but I don´t notice wrong with temps or fans. Works 100%.
