Yes I boot from the same USB drve, Installer from the USB work just fine, after restart installation continue from HDD fine too, after finish installation PC restart, I boot to Clover again and select HDD partition with macos Mojave, starts booting, after few secconds grey screen with cursor appear and PC restarts automatically.

I saw your old post with ASUS P5Q-VM Intel® Core™2 DuoE8400 (6M Cache, 3.00 GHz) 4GB ram NVIDIA Quadro 600 - 1 GB

It's the same as mine, Core 2 Duo E8400 (SSE4.1 only, no SSE4.2) + GT 640 1G, after installation success, boot to system restarting on gray screen and mouse. (GPT + APFS, Clover 4522. Works fine with 10.13.6)

I think it's the end for SSE4.1 cpu now.

Sorry, I think I might have gotten it wrong. :) My bad.

Could you, please, remove all the serials in your config plist SMBIOS and RT variable, and upload your Clover folder for analysis? Looks like you might have a KP somewhere. Weird that the installation worked fine...

Also, try to boot in Verbose mode. See where it crashes.

Here is screenshot from verbose mode. After this grey screen with cursor appear and PC restarts.

I can't access EFI partition on USB drive form Windows, I'm not sure why, should try later from virtual machine and will post my Clover folder.

I'm with a little diferent configuration now, but still old. High Serra works fine.

Still the same CPU, the same problem. I didn't find anyone work without SSE4.2 now. Need next lucky beta.:)

Also to anyone else testing Mojave arr you using one of the osxwifi + BT cards? If so does it still work natively in Mojave? As I'm looking at getting one.

Thanks. I'm hoping they re add support for atheros in Mojave as the first beta dropped Atheros40 <--- i think thats the kext name i re added from high sierra. If they dont add support back for atheros then ill be after WiFi +BT for my desktop but if they do add atheros support back then ill just need native bluetooth support.

Thanks for your info, I already tried it, found nothing more than above.

I'm not sure, it's really boot into the installed Mojave system or not?

I do not have a LGA775 socket components to test it, but you have to review your config.plist and check your DSDT or graphics card, it might be a trick for that! If people not only one user, but users confirmed that it work, then you just have to check or ask for a config.plist that already working!

It's only one user Ecefer post it work without anything, no more evidence, that's why I'm not sure it's really work or not.

Not sure if there's difference between real mac and hackintosh Pc on this case. This reminds me when got same issue installing Sierra some years back on my MBP2009 with Core2Duo. It got succeeded with dosdude1 patcher, but no luck using it on pc with similar cpu. Later on, after 10.12 finally released, It worked well with same config.

Have you did this to bypass compatibility check, like dear fusion71au said?

You can clean install Mojave beta on an HFS partition with a patched OSInstall.mpkg (this starts core.pkg installation) ---> bypasses compatibility checks.  See post#258 in macrumors unsupported macs thread, credit to @foxlet.

After the package installer completes, copy boot.efi (from "Misc Files.zip" attachment or extract yourself from BaseSystem.dmg with Pacifist) to /S/L/CoreServices of the Mojave volume, and copy SeedEnrollment.plist file into the /Users/Shared folder with the "." prefix so it becomes a hidden system file eg if SeedEnrollment.plist is in your ~/Downloads folder, use the terminal command

cp ~/Downloads/SeedEnrollment.plist /Volumes/Mojave/Users/Shared/.SeedEnrollment.plist

Good Luck :)

It might work

The compatibility check is only for installation. Compatibility is not a issue.

I can boot to installation screen, and install Mojave as GPT+APFS, or GPT+HFS+J, or MBR+HFS+J successful. (will not convert to APFS.:))

My problem is,

After installation finished, it can not boot into the installed Mojave system with all the three types above.

I think, it's E8400 without SSE4.2 issue.

I can't figure out why Ecefer said it works with E7500? I already ask for his config.plist, not reply yet.

I think we need more info. how Ecefer made it worked?

Yep, also you can check at AppleLife.ru, maybe you'll find someone posted a solution!

I do not remember where i've seen the screenshot where the verbose hangs from the installed drive, can you post it again?

It finally should end up with something like that:

1162284640_ScreenShot2018-06-09at5_29_30PM.thumb.png.d389146af69e97830b233792bb67ad03.png

The thing going bad in he's HDEF patch is merging apple-layout-id with alc-layout-id, but instead of doing that he only need to put alc-layout-id.

With the AppleALC I attached on my previous post, it works without any changes except the boot arguments.

The error come from "El Capitan" volume.

You have more than one /Volumes/XXXXX/.IAProductInfo

You should remove all other /Volumes/XXXXX/.IAProductInfo, keep only the external USB drive with /Volumes/USB/.IAProductInfo and /Volumes/USB/macOS Install Data/

use the terminal commands to view and remove /Volumes/El Capitan/.IAProductInfo and /Volumes/El Capitan/OS X Install Data/

and you need to boot the external USB drive with /Volumes/USB/macOS Install Data/ to finish installation.

Thank you very much, this did it! I had the file in an old OS installation...so I deleted it  I was able to install Mojave after that and it's working great.

There's one weird thing tho... I installed it in an external USB hard drive... in one occasion I  rebooted the machine and the Mojave partition was gone... not sure if there's a problem with APFS... I had to reinstall the OS.

Cheers,

Dragster.

Yes, but not for all codecs for sure, i've tried all the things, so here's the conclusion for my codec to work:

1- use only VoodooHDA, so the audio just work fine, but Guitar Rig no.

2- use AppleALC from high sierra just work fine

3- use the last AppleALC from @arsradu post, using alc-layout-id in DSDT and putting -alcbeta -lilubeta

But from time to time when i boot using AppleALC all versions, i get audio grayed, so i have to shutdown the laptop, remove the battery, power on it, and work again for a while!

Only Sierra 10.12+ support APFS to view it.

El Capitan didn't support APFS, can't see it, unless you install Mojave as HFS+J with MBR patch method (will not convert HFS+j to APFS).

I can't, no verbose hangs, it boot system to gray screen and mouse cursor, then reboot itself.

I think, maybe some kexts or frameworks cause the reboot issue.

I may try to remove some kexts to test it when i have free time.
