Hi

All works fine after update to Beta 5. :) Except: eficheck dump files generated by macOS, like Beta 4 update. What is it? Any solution. Please.

eficheck.dump

I have been using EFICheckDisabler.kext for a long time.

I have never had any problems with eficheck since I used EFICheckDisabler.kext at all.

The system did not generate any popup messages or dump files related to eficheck.

I have never used EFICheckDisabler.kext and don't have this popup issue that others are having.

in your ioreg, doesn't eficheck load under LPCB?

There is not always a popup for eficheck. I do not know the exact rule.

There was a pop-up occasionally. It is part of the kernel log based analysis that eficheck kext is loaded.

It doesn't matter. This is the user's choice, so if you have a pop-up or dump file, you can use it.

thanks

Updated to macOS Mojave 10.14 Beta 5 (18A347e) successfully (sig), uhmb.. but there's issue with my GF119 as usual:

1. Vanilla /S*/L*/E*/GeForce.kext (v12.0.16) won't loaded, so I got only CI w/o QE Enabled

2. Using GeForce.kext (v12.0.14) from Beta 4 it's just loaded, but there's problem with WindowServer

3. Then finally replacing "/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreDisplay.framework/Versions/A/CoreDisplay" from Beta 1 did the job!

Hmmm. Seems like opening App Store KP's the OS.

P.S. Seems like enabling Intel HD graphics with the GTX660 will cause the App Store to freeze the system, but without Intel I can't get the Quicklook and Preview to work with JPG's.

What a strange issue.

thank you so much. I used it for applehda patching and it works.

If you have MacOS Mojave Beta 5 installer app already downloaded, you can extract it yourself pretty easily with Pacifist. :)

Also, if your hardware supports it, I would recommend trying AppleALC instead of patching the actual AppleHDA kext. It's better for updates.

It seems like its a new feature in clover configurator because I never used this method and my config.plist had never this entry before.

However even with set to enabled it just don't work.

I can't make an update, again? This is definitely RX560 problem, I know it, but I don't know how to pass this. Here is the verbose screen; its stuck there and after waiting monitor going to sleep. I know the update process and this is not a regular sleep issue after waiting too long on the update process. I also attached my Clover folder. Could you please tell me why this happening?

Your HPET device uses high IRQs, because HPET does not share IRQs, they are not free for other devices. Try the clover FixHPET.

Next time If you want Vanilla kext Simply go to Install macOS Mojave Beta.app /Contents/SharedSupport/

Mount the BaseSystem.dmg/System/Lybrary/Extensions/AppleHDA.kext

Copying the kext on Desktop :wink_anim:

Tried WhatEverGreen?

Doesn't help stuck in the same place. RX 560 working out of the box but when try to update its stuck and going to sleep in the first stage of the update process and I don't know why doing that. I will try with different SMBIOS, @arsradu and @Cyberdevs mention about SMBIOS on the general transparent issue in the other threads. Maybe it can help.

Edit: SMBIOS changing didn't work.

Try this EFI, you had a few things in your config that you didn't need and I also converted all your DSDT patches to single SSDT patches, which will allow you to be able to update your motherboard firmware without having to rematch your DSDT every single time. Also on the phase 1 of the updater if you have multi-monitors connected it will give you a black screen, known issue with RX 5xx series.

When you get the gIOScreenLockState, message, it means that your video drivers could not load.  That can happen for a variety of reasons.  It happened to me on my laptop because I could not find a way to disable my Nvidia GPU and my laptop does not support dual graphics.  Others have had different reasons.

If you suspect the problem is with your video card, you might try to disable it in BIOS and use the GPU that is onboard with your CPU just to install the update.  If you can then boot, you can try to install the video drivers you need for your RX 560.  Once they're installed, you can try to boot with the RX 560 enabled.  It wouldn't surprise me if your video kexts aren't loading because they are not within the prelinked kernel for the update.  It's worth a try at least.

Thank you @Pavo it is worked. Finally, I passed gIOScreenLockState and update successfully but no sound anymore.  Could it be that you removed layout-id from config.plist?

What is the CodecCommander.kext? I never use it before.

I am usually keeping my kexts inside L/E? What should I do move to kexts to L/E or leave it Clover/Others folder?

You should put all 3rd party kext in EFI>Clover>kexts>other, helps with updates and not having to reinstall kexts all the time. Mybad about the audio, I forgot to change the layout-id in the SSDT for HDEF, replace with this one please.

Somehow, the eficheck driver seemed to be loaded properly under LPCB, but I never see that pop-up too  :D
