The installer runs it course with no issue but once it's done the black screen issue happens. I will test the safe mode and see if it loads.

Even some real unsupported mac users, booting Clover for Mojave.. take a look ^_^ but still get no clear proof it's working on an Eight Core Mac Pro 3,1 WTH is going on?

My oldest rig which I mentioned before lacks ACPI addresses (that's what I think) to properly address the hardware resources that High Sierra and Mojave need to work properly.

Installing it on legitimate Apple hardware is totally another story. But it's impressive enough that clover will work just as fine on real Macs as well D:

@ricoc90

Send me your EFI folder via PM and I will take a look to see if I can find the cause for the kernel panic and this is the link to my GitHub repo for my working EFI folders you can take a look and see fi you can find anything interesting ;)

Installing Mojave on my legacy rig (GA-EP45-DS3R, E8400 Core 2 Duo) is a no go, same issue as High Sierra although the GPU (AMD 7790) supports metal it ends up with the same black screen!

You know, I hate to say that,

my Core2 Duo E8400 (SSE4.1 only, no SSE4.2) + GT 640 1G, after Mojave installation success, boot to Mojave system restarting on gray screen and mouse cursor. (GPT + APFS, Clover 4522. Works fine with 10.13.6)

As some people say, SSE4.1 CPU is no more support with Mojave,

but macrumors shows June 7: The crash on MacPro3,1 is not caused by lack of SSE4.2 (because Mojave works on Hackintosh core 2 duos). But we don't know what it is caused by.

You may try this #543 with Ecefour's Clover EFI, his E7500 775 socket core 2 duo work fine, mine is failed still.

Maybe you get lucky to boot into Mojave installed system.

Uhmmb, not really sure if make any difference.. but have you tried installing Mojave HFS+ using Enoch / Chameleon and got same issue as well?

Nope I haven't tried that because I didn't think it was worth to spend the time on a system that I barely use  but if I find some time to kill I might give it a try ;)

My system doesn't restart or gives me KP the installation completes with no issue but when the second stage boot starts it simply ends up in a beautiful black screen and just sits there until I gently press the restart button on my case :) :hysterical:

Same as me, Mojave installation success, after installation complete, boot to Mojave system restarting on gray screen and mouse cursor.

I'm sure, my GT640 works fine with the other CPU i3-2100, Mojave.

That means,

i3-2100, GT640, Mojave installation complete, :thumbsup_anim:  boot into Mojave system fine without issue.:thumbsup_anim:

E8400, GT640, Mojave installation complete, :thumbsup_anim:  can't boot into system, always restarting on gray screen and mouse cursor.:(

As my test, something wrong with E8400. I think.:wallbash:

Actually, since Clover is a fork of rEFIt it is not that surprising :P On my (originally late 2009, but swapped the board with the mid-2010 version) unibody white macbook I am using it to dual boot Linux

I really think it's a the addressing of the GPU rather than the CPU issue. Apple iMac "Core 2 Duo" 3.06 21.5-Inch (Late 2009) has the exact same CPU (E8400) which supports macOS High Sierra 10.13.x but it fails to load on our hacks (or at least mine) for whatever reason. (Which as I said I believe it's the BIOS or better to say the ACPI tables and hardware resource addressing)

Take a look here

My E8400 works fine with 10.13.6, but failed with Mojave.

I didn't tell you to give up E8400 with Mojave, I just show you my test result, and hope you can success with Mojave.

If you success, my E8400 will come to alive again, I think.

I think E8400 work fine with kernel, maybe some framework or kext issue cause the problem.

Good luck to you!:thumbsup_anim::thumbsup_anim:

Thanks man :) Good luck to you too on getting Mojave to boot successfully on your E8400 ;)

I just tried Enoch r2908 to boot post / pre-installed 10.14 Beta 1 on my mach (sig). Strange is, I get black screen with signal. Both kozlek's and slice's FakeSMC are well loaded, nv_disable=1 GraphicsEnabler=Yes do nothing. Ha haa, let's try Beta 2 then..

hi, can anybody share an EFI folder ? for asus hero X + 8700k + nvidia 970 ...thank you ... what I try was time lost ...

What DID you try?

Copy-pasting an EFI most likely won't solve your problem. Maybe post your Clover folder to take a look? This way you can also learn a thing or two? :)

The good news is that the direct dl link (post #1) still works fine, so you can download full Beta 2 installer.

The bad news, they didn't add more graphics kexts especially these ones for old configs. Sad.  :hammer:

I still can not understand (except force new macs buying) the fact that an old configuration no longer works under Mojave while it still works perfectly under 10.13.6  :thumbsdown_anim:

Guys, the ones of you having issues opening certain photos with the first Beta, do you still have that issue? Cause I do. I was hoping Apple would fix it. But...well, they didn't seem to. And it's kind of annoying.

Apparently it doesn't occur with HEIC files (live photos) and screenshots taken on the Mac. It does with screenshots received on iMessage for example and regular camera photos. Cannot be opened either with Quick Look (endless loop) or Preview app (app becomes unresponsive).

Well I guess apple is going to completely ditch the OpenCL and replace it with Metal and that's why all the AMD GPU generations prior to 7000 series are not supported anymore and yes they want to sell more Macs!!!

And another good news is that the transparency issue is fixed on my R9 270X GPU as well :D
