I haven't been using CodecCommander since Sierra, I don't put my PC to sleep at all but the sound after sleep wasn't working on High Sierra when I tested it.

Anybody else unable to update or download applications in new App Store? 224936237_Screenshot2018-06-19at11_26_32.png.1015d2b875f7f83928ebe78cd0cc9ece.png

I'm guessing it could be related to my account being US, and the store being always redirected to the Croatian App Store... Or it is just a bug which happens to everyone lol. Also, don't see any option to switch the country on the new AppStore either.

It's working fine on my end

Oh, then its country related. I'll wait for the beta2, hoping they might fix it.. If not, I'll try changing the default country to US in Preferences

It probably is related to the country/region but I also get timeouts from time to time. (This only the first beta though and the bugs are still crawling everywhere :D)

Hi @Cyberdevs among Others,

Are you running 10.14 Beta right now? I wonder why when open Home, Stocks apps etc. get only blank UI (my internet connection is good though), can you check if any of MTL* or OpenGL* drivers are loaded when opening them?

Just open for example Stocks.app, then go to Activity Monitor.app, highlight it > Get Info > Open Files and Ports... and take a look for MTL or OpenGL/CL. It seems, I lost benefit from most of them since my GT 520M (Fermi GF119) is not metal capable graphics (I get no MTL* or OpenGL/CL drivers loaded on my case). Thanks.

#EDIT: My GF119 is QE/CI enabled under 10.14 Beta.

I have the same issue. In my case I guess the Nvidia drivers are buggy. I also encounter transparency issues (mostly within light mode). However, my card has Metal support.

In your case the issue might be that these apps don't have the OpenGL fallback

To make sure that you have a fully functioning GUI choose Light Mode and the see if the transparency works normally.

I have an updated and fully patched DSDT (Thanks to @MaLd0n) and everything is working as smooth as butter.

Many thanks. And are any MTL* && OpenGL/CL drivers loaded?

Transparency is working well here I guess, and I never gotten issue with my Graphics QE/CI using this DSDT Patch since early OS X versions (except Sierra-hSierra).

I'm afraid that in your case it isn't a bug... Mojave's UIKit relies highly on Metal 2 rather than OpenGL/CL

Yeah.. Not sure what we've to do about it then.

I also get no News.app with 10.14 Beta (can you send it here?), strange.. but DVD Player.app (I got it on 2nd install, but 1st I didn't) is here.

News.app isn't in the app drawer for me either, however it opens when I open a RSS. I.E. feed://developer.apple.com/news/releases/rss/releases.rss

Edit: Apparently these apps are hidden per default. (cmd+shift+.)

I still wonder a thing, just to make sure..

So, to reduce Color banding for my laptop display under mac, I usually use Display Overrides method generated from Anv's FixEDID.app with edid.bin generated from Linux's Nvidia Display Manager, placed on..

/System/Library/Displays/Contents/Resources/Overrides

But, (though it works just fine) under macOS 10.14 Dev Beta... I lost my cursor (that's why I make it bigger, better than using a hammer #LoL). Strange is when I removed (on my case) "DisplayVendorID-da9", my cursor is back. Any of you using a same method and also get similar issue? Thanks.

I usually use a display override (Sierra and High sierra) to force 1080p on my laptop but the file and folder I use doesn't work (DisplayVendorID-dae) as well. So I'm guessing apple have changed something.

What I would suggest is trying to:

1. Put Clover on a USB drive and boot from it whenever you want to test stuff for Mojave. This way, you can have your HDD/SSD Clover intact. You can boot from the USB and select Mojave in Clover GUI. That's not a problem. But the point here is to keep the SSD/HDD intact...for now.

2. Try to boot only with FakeSMC.kext (in case this could be a kext issue)

3. Try to remove the patched DSDT from Clover/APCI/Patched and find corresponding fixes in Clover config. I'm pretty sure, at least for booting up and installing, there isn't anything that can't be done from Clover config.

4. Generate a new config and only add things you ABSOLUTELY NEED for booting. Nothing else. For example, you might want to check KernelPm in kernel and kext patches. Now, since I don't know which motherboard you're using, it would be hard to tell which patches you will need to boot. But you can try.

5. Clean up your config in case it generated more things than you know you need.

6. Try to disable SIP

7. Unplug anything that's not connected via USB. And even so, try to keep it to a minimum.

8. After you get a bootable system, try to update your kexts where possible. For me, NvidiaGraphicsFixup worked ok with Mojave, so that one is probably ok. And to be honest, I've never use NullCPUPowerManagement.kext... But you might need it.

9. Try to boot with nv_disable=1. There is no Nvidia driver for Mojave yet, for as far as I know. So there won't be any acceleration anyway. But better have some sort of graphics than a grey screen.

10. Update Clover. You should be able to boot with 4542, which seems to be the version you have right now. But it wouldn't hurt updating, in case there are some changes you've missed, that could help you with this.

I try everything you suggest same result.

Before account setting gray screen mouse not moving.

I try FakeSMC.kext and NullCPUPowerManagement.kext same result.without Null make panic.

I try your clean config with nv_disable=1 with out patched DSDT same result.

Keep trying

Thank you.

Installing Mojave on my legacy rig (GA-EP45-DS3R, E8400 Core 2 Duo) is a no go, same issue as High Sierra although the GPU (AMD 7790) supports metal it ends up with the same black screen!

Since High Sierra you will need a helper GPU in order for the AMD card to work, which you do not have. Rolling back the kexts worked for High Sierra but I doubt it will work for Mojave too.

Are you able to boot into safe mode?

To be honest I don't care about installing High Sierra or Mojave on that rig because I barely use it anymore but just to confirm our previous conversation I installed Mojave on that rig anyway.

The thing is that I did another test on my Asus P7H55 machine with an AMD R9 270X which has native support and the same issue with the GUI is present. Although I have an old patched DSDT (with no iGPU on my i5 760 CPU) the metal framework doesn't seem to be loading correctly as well.

I will dig dipper into the issue to see if I can find a way to make it work or not (probably or NOT :D though)

It would be  good news if it will at least let you boot into the OS. Still no luck here on my C2Q :(

The installer runs it course with no issue but once it's done the black screen issue happens. I will test the safe mode and see if it loads.

What happens with your rig when you try to boot into Mojave? Mine doesn't freeze or reboot but just simply won't load the GPU correctly. It's a BIOS issue and I'm almost certain of it.

I get a KP, most likely on the CPU PM
