Anyone else having Lilu+AppleALC issues? kernel logs says its loading with the flags but still no audio.

Hi Pavo I also have a couple of MacPro's like yours except the graphics card is either a Nvidia GT120 or the stock AMD card.  I read that with the right metal supported graphics card MacPro5,1 will be supported in Mojave.  Did you flash Mac EFI firmware onto your Sapphire Nitro+ 580x?  Do you think its possible to get the Vega to work on the real MacPro with Mojave unless the PCIe slot/Power supply may not handle it?  I have seen on EBay graphics cards flashed with Mac EFI like the Nvidia 680 to support MacPro 2010 through 2012.

What I do is add the application folder (of the other OS) to Privacy list in Preferences > Spotlight... This implies that you want be using the other OS lol

then run this terminal command

/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -kill -r -domain local -domain user;killall Finder;echo "Open With has been rebuilt, Finder will relaunch"

I've followed these steps but it seems doesn't work on my mach. I'm running Mojave now, El Capitan is on another partition.

Is it only me that get no blurry background on login screen? Or, this is how Mojave's Login screen looks like?

Also, anyone has DVD Player.app installed on Mojave? Thanks.

well, you only have one Notes.app and one Safari.app.. maybe the TextEdit(1.11) is in an different location, also the icon seems off, so I don't know what to think about it..

Ooh, OK.. I got it, so I misunderstood.. I thought that steps above are to prevent whole /Applications from another macOS to be listed on Open With... sorry my bad and thanks for correction anyway. ^_^

Its X5460

10.13.4 worked well.

I try this bios install fine. Finally grey screen.

iMac PRo 1.1

iMac 10.13

MacPRO 6.1

Could you, please, remove serials from SMBIOS in config and upload your entire Clover folder for analysis? It could be that there is no support for your hardware...yet. Or could be something else.

Also, please, add your hardware information to your signature.

So I'm gonna guess the correct one is Core 2 Duo P8600, not the X5460. :))

And yes, it might have worked fine with 10.13. But I wouldn't be surprised if Apple removed the support for Intel Core 2 Duo processors altogether starting with 10.14.

Have you tried changing your SMBIOS? Which system definition are you using?

Officially that's exactly what's going on; No support for C2D anymore. However from what I've read over at macrumors, people successfully installed Mojave on their C2D-based hacks.

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/macos-10-14-mojave-on-unsupported-macs-thread.2121473/

I did not succeed installing it on my C2Q though

What I would suggest is trying to:

1. Put Clover on a USB drive and boot from it whenever you want to test stuff for Mojave. This way, you can have your HDD/SSD Clover intact. You can boot from the USB and select Mojave in Clover GUI. That's not a problem. But the point here is to keep the SSD/HDD intact...for now.

2. Try to boot only with FakeSMC.kext (in case this could be a kext issue)

3. Try to remove the patched DSDT from Clover/APCI/Patched and find corresponding fixes in Clover config. I'm pretty sure, at least for booting up and installing, there isn't anything that can't be done from Clover config.

4. Generate a new config and only add things you ABSOLUTELY NEED for booting. Nothing else. For example, you might want to check KernelPm in kernel and kext patches. Now, since I don't know which motherboard you're using, it would be hard to tell which patches you will need to boot. But you can try.

5. Clean up your config in case it generated more things than you know you need.

6. Try to disable SIP

7. Unplug anything that's not connected via USB. And even so, try to keep it to a minimum.

8. After you get a bootable system, try to update your kexts where possible. For me, NvidiaGraphicsFixup worked ok with Mojave, so that one is probably ok. And to be honest, I've never use NullCPUPowerManagement.kext... But you might need it.

9. Try to boot with nv_disable=1. There is no Nvidia driver for Mojave yet, for as far as I know. So there won't be any acceleration anyway. But better have some sort of graphics than a grey screen.

10. Update Clover. You should be able to boot with 4542, which seems to be the version you have right now. But it wouldn't hurt updating, in case there are some changes you've missed, that could help you with this.

Anyway, what I would tell you is to start small and add things one by one, if you need them.  Right now, the priority is to get you booted, not sound, ethernet or other things. And I'm pretty sure some of the things in your config are already fixed/covered by the kexts your using. So...as I said, start with only the minimum necessary to boot and build from there.

I uploaded a cleaner version of your config. Which, admittedly was pretty clean to begin with. :) So, if you wanna give it a try, again, I would suggest doing this on a USB drive so you don't mess other things.

Hello Guys, installation went without problem i installed it as soon as release came, i had problem with the acceleration (coz of Nvidia -__-) and i abandoned it (were up to it for a long time, from the time Nvidia had problems with drivers) soo i got RX560 and that's fixed a lot of problems for me kinda.

so this is my build. (Z270-K, i5 7400, as for bluetooth i got Apples broadcom)

everything works except front audio panel of my Case (my mother is Z270-K (ALC887)) i'm using layout 2 aaah and monitor sometimes goes black its not frequent but it happens from time to time, anyone had problem like that on Mojave with Radeon card ?

I have an AMD RX 580 and I have no issue with my displays going dark.

The front panel audio is also working on my end.

I'm will send you my config as soon as I'm done installing macOS on that rig, but in the meanwhile it would be helpful if you update your signature with your hardware specs so we can help you easier ;)

One question about Amd RX560 : are WhateverGreen.kext or RadeonDelnit needed ?

Nope they are not needed since macOS High Sierra 10.13.4 but using WhateverGreen has some benefits regarding the correct GPU layout detection by macOS

best not to offer that as a option WEG slows down the gpu by alot we and pavo found this out the hard way 10.13.4 just needs a simple name patch if you have a r9 200 card the rx cards dont need renaming

I know that the WEG is affecting GPU's performance, but do you care to elaborate on what do you mean by "found this out the hard way"? What happened?

For my RX 580 I just need to use the patch for AGDP otherwise I get the black screen. (Just to clarify I don't use WEG myself)

actually i've come across  someone saying similar on tonymacx, after that i removed WEG.

ah btw guys what layouts are you using for ALC887 ?

Try using layout-id 2 for audio.

WEG was doing wonders when there were no other alternative but ever since 10.13.4 came out it is no longer necessary and there are at least 3 other options that I know of such as DSDT patch by Mieze or the SSDT patch to achieve the same result and RadeonDeInit that will have the same result for macOS Sierra and High Sierra prior to 10.13.4.

The sleep works without any issues on my hack (the SkyLake rig), I even have sound after sleep without using CodecComander unlike High Sierra

Same thing here, no sleep/wake or other issue at all, laptop work great with Mojave.

I don't think I'm using Codeccommander.kext on my skylake build.

If i don’t use it, sound will be poor and some scratches will appear from time to time
