all right. HD 3000, now, get black screen after pass verbose screen.

i tested all graphic files of High Sierra in 10.14.

My Sandy Bridge laptop issue in 10.14

1. CPUPM

2. HD 3000 Accelerator

except list above, all is good.

if someone find some solution, it's best. or give up 10.14 in sandy brigde laptop.

i think users of 1st generation laptop have been experienced since long time ago.

hope they find some solution. i will return High Sierra on 4230s.

thanks.

I don't think it's same case as 1st Gen Intel HD that need to just enabling QE/CI features, AppleIntelHDGraphicsFB.kext is still found on SLE under hSierra and prev. macOS. But on Mojave as we've talk earlier, AppleIntelSNBFramebuffer* has gone. And even if it's still there, not really sure it'll be loaded bcoz Metal incapable.. or you found a way to force loading 10.13's kext under Mojave?

The Problems are HD3000graphics and CapriFB kexts. All others are loaded. Mine is not 3000 one is a 2000 with 106 ID. I have minor issues but all important works as all pervious versions the differences only noisy thing is flickering on boot and launchpad not fluid.

Very important I don't use any DSDT or SSDT and all kexts are on S/L/E. I use a manual customized config.

What is Mojave file size after downloading? Mine has 5.71GB, but everyone mentions around 5GB... I cannot install Mojave no matter what I do, now I am wondering if the file size is correct.

I downloaded from the App Store using beta access utility. How can it be different? :blink:

Good news is my GT 520M (Fermi GF119) works OOTB under macOS 10.14 Beta with native NVDA driver, with fully QE/CI enabled I think I'm just lucky with my 2nd Gen CPU that doesn't use IntelHD3000. :P

I was using the layout 1 but it no longer works even with the new AppleALC 1.2.8

Normally I do not use AppleALC, but I've compiled the latest revision and it works with layout-id 1. Have you tried it without any DSDT changes?. AppleALC 1.2.8 should set the layout-id to 7, if not, add the following code to the HDEF device in your DSDT.

                    "alc-layout-id",
                    Buffer (0x04)
                    {
                         0x01, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00         // existing layout-id from AppleALC resources folder
                    },

                    "apple-layout-id",                       // existing layout-id at AppleHDA resources folder, default is 7
                    Buffer (0x04)
                    {
                         0x02, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00

Just a heads up, do not update Clover to 4522, it can not boot Mojave.

Uhm...it boots Mojave just fine on my side...

Maybe some of those drivers actually do matter? :)

Well guess it was just a glitch, now its booting. Even with only apfs.efi, AptioMemoryFix.efi and HFS+.efi

Yeah, might have been something else... By the way...did anyone try the Messages app yet? Do you see the phone number instead of the name of the person messaging you in the notification pop-up (assuming you've got messages forwarded from your iPhone tot the Mac)? It's fine within the Messaging app itself.I It's just the notification pop-up when receiving a text message that displays the phone number instead of the name.

Weird thing is...I don't have this issue on my Mac, with the same contacts and everything. But it is on my Hack. :)) Kinda weird, I gotta say.

Yeah, also....about the previous issue with Quick Look/Preview....if you upgrade from High Sierra to Mojave, without making a clean install, chances are you're not gonna see this issue. I actually had Mojave installed on another HDD, as an upgrade to High Sierra, and I didn't have this issue. Clean -reinstall, and the issue re-appeared. So...I'm guessing some data was kept from High Sierra.

Also, I checked using my iGPU and indeed, it does not occur. So it's only eGPUs...and probably only after clean installs.

Anybody try with a old system? like Q8300 + GTX 560 ti? After success install and booting for final step, System immediately restarting on gray screen.

Try first to check config.plist settings, boot-args, graphics settings injection.

@wern apfel I've modified my DSDT as follow but it still doesn't work. Here are the modifications I've done

Method (_DSM, 4, NotSerialized) // _DSM: Device-Specific Method

                If (LEqual (Arg2, Zero))

                Return (Package (0x08)

                    Buffer (Zero) {}

How do I set the layout-id with Clover Configurator ?

You'll have same result, i suggest to rollback to AppleHDA from 10.13.4 or 5 with AppleALC 1.2.7 and normal use of HDEF=>_DSM, i mean: "layout-id", no more than that, i personally tried it from a user suggestion, and it worked in Mojave just like for Atheros AR9285.

If you prefer to try Clover Layout-ID, here's:

Same here,

Core2 Duo E8400 (SSE4.1 only, no SSE4.2) + GT 640 1G, after installation success, boot to system restarting on gray screen and mouse.

GPT + APFS, Clover 4522.

Works fine with 10.13.6.:thumbsup_anim:

I think, it may end of hackintosh(10.14) now.:angel:
