I was using the layout 1 but it no longer works even with the new AppleALC 1.2.8

In the DSDT change layout-id with alc-layout-id

For {censored} and giggles I decided to install Mojave :P Made the USB and install went well, ethernet worked right away, sound didn't. After some screwing around AppleALC 1.2.8 v2 and ID-2 inject fixed it  Everything works now, but I'll stick with the 10.13 for main work.

Hi guys,

Is anyone else having issues using Preview or Quick Look (pressing spacebar) in Mojave? Works fine on my MBP, but on the Hack, the Quick Look option shows a window with an endless loading animation and no actual image. And trying to open the exact same thing with Preview, makes the app unresponsive.

And no, that's not dependent on the actual content, since I tried multiple images, from multiple sources, of different sizes and shapes. So...no, it's not the content itself. Also, this is after a clean install of the OS...so this can't be something from the old installation either.

My audio layout-id is managed in DSDT to 11 (I think), I removed the SSDT completely and set in config.plist to 2 and it worked..

Any suggestion on how I change DSDT to layout-id 2 please? I have no idea what those 0x0B, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00 numbers are :(

In the DSDT change layout-id with alc-layout-id:

"alc-layout-id",

Buffer ()

{

    0x02, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00

Mine is working fine on my real Macs and hacks

Yep. Quick preview is working fine here on my hack as well. Keychain access is laggy however. Choosing Safari -> Preferences > Passwords completely freezes safari for a while. Authentication windows also sometimes freeze for 10 seconds or so.

So.... we have found some interesting things with Clover UEFI drivers...... I only have apfs.efi, AptioMemoryFix.efi and HFS+.efi in my drivers64UEFI folder in Clover and can boot perfectly fine, so wtf are all the other drivers exactly for??????????

very good question, I tried various selections in purpose and all worked which for me looks weird, it'd be more useful if every selection had fair enough description so we know what we are doing (except reading the whole wiki), some have nothing at all.

I have installed Mojave on another machine. This one is much older and has a gtx660 in it. I get graphics artefacts after using it for an hour or so. Works fine with built-in HD4600.

Any fix? I've heard Kepler started to have problems after High Sierra.

Guys i cant seem to make my graphics work on my Lenovo V330-15IKB, i had everything running fine on High Sierra 10.13.5 but now i can't boot the system unless i use 0x12345678 ig-platform-id.

i did add -igfxbeta & -lilubeta kernel flags but still system won't boot.

Kaby Lake R CPU intel core i5 8250U

Intel UHD Graphics 620 (5917)

Someone that already succeded with an idea ?

Could it be a new DVMT Patch required or something ?

I couldn't get the installer to recognize my system as compatible (listed in sig) so I put the drive in RAW mode with VMWare and am 80% done installing so I can use it normally.

I did freah install and Mojave auto create APFS on my mechanical drive haha.. i thought only in SSD

With Mojave, Apple added support for HDD/Fusion drives, as well. :)

As for the Clover drivers available with the installer, there are a lot more discussions about it in the Clover General section. So I would suggest using that for more info on the topic.

But in a nutshell, those drivers (or at least some of them, were always there, and considered "mandatory", so they were not displayed to the user in the installer UI). Now, whether or not some of them are mandatory, is debatable, cause what's mandatory for my system might not be mandatory for yours, and vice-versa. However, some of them are (such as apfs.efi or HFSPlus/VBoxHfs.efi).

The idea is that now all the drivers are available to the user so he can choose whatever he wants. The only problem is if you're a new user and you have no idea what each one of those is doing and which ones you need vs which ones you don't. But...as I said, I would strongly suggest talking this in more details in the Clover thread. There are a TON of discussions about it already.

Now, for as far as the Preview issues I mentioned before, it seems to work for all the people with iGPUs, but the results with eGPUs are a bit confusing. Some people have this issue, some people don't... Anyway, I hope it's just a bug, being the first beta, and will be fixed in the next updates. Cause I do use Quick Look and Preview on a daily basis.

Hey guys, newbie questions here, I'm using cover R4515, I got to the installer and start installing Mojave, but when I boot to finish up the 2nd part of the install this comes up.

What am I doing wrong?

Not sure what an error -3 is but wondering if it is due to a corrupt installer? What process are you using to install it? Are you doing an update or a clean install via a USB drive?

Check the install log from installation screen top menu, you will see the error come from.

If you already have Clover 4515 installed on your HDD/SSD, you can use that to boot the USB drive, as well. Which has the advantage of keeping your USB drive untouched so you can put (ONLY) the installer on it.

So, if you previously had Clover on it I would recommend removing it from EFI and using the one on your HDD to boot. Should also be easier since you won't need to constantly switch to the USB drive in Boot option screen. Not to mention, once the files are copied to the HDD/SSD, the installation actually continues from there, for as far as I know. So...I'm not sure you will need the USB drive anymore at this point. Could be wrong though.

Anyway, what I would suggest:

1. Format the USB drive (including EFI, or at least mount it and remove Clover from there manually, if you previously had it)

2. Download the FULL installer. Make sure it's the complete one, and not just some 17MB installer. It needs to have around 5GB.

3. Wait until it pops up to install it and Quit that.

4. Open up Terminal and do:

sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ 10.14\ Beta.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/Untitled

This assumes that your USB drive is called "Untitled" (default naming scheme). If that's not the case, adjust this part in the command above and try again.

5. Wait for the process to complete.

6. Boot from your HDD/SSD's Clover installation and select the USB drive (it most likely got renamed to something like "install......10.14 Beta" or something like that).

7. Decide which partition you want to use and whether or not you want to format it and use that one for future reboots (it should say something like "Boot Install from....[insert partition name here]").

Let's see if this works.

Using the iGPU or the eGPU? Did you manage to get Nvidia driver working in Mojave...? Also, I'm not sure, but I don't think "borked" means working fine.... So...are you confirming it working or not working for you, too? Cause I'm confused.

I had to remove lpssi2c kext cause applesmc will panics with it along side my DSDT, with alc 1.2.8 and alcbetaall and lilubeta sound got fixed without changing layout id, still no acceleration despite having "patched" the web driver's plist with the correct macOS version... my 1060 is being recognized but no acceleration and lot of artifacts, btw the OS looks very good, dark mode is sweet!

Yes I'm having those previews bugs and the app crashes if I launch it...

But it's ok for a beta!
