Cyberdevs
@Poco Thanks man the site loads way faster than before The only thing that I have noticed so far is that the "Activity" is not working anymore. Thanks again. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/334182-site-issues/page/3/#findComment-2627640 Share on other sites
arsradu
Hi guys, So yeah, after the upgrade, the forum is probably twice as fast. Congrats for that! Still, for as far as I could see, the Search function is a bit on the opposite side of working. When you have a bit of time, maybe you can take a look at that, too. I feel like it might be related to the issue reported by my friends above regarding the Activity/Unread Content feature. Pavo
@Poco Site responsiveness is 70% better and site loading is 4 times better. Thank you for all the hard work you have put into fixing the issues. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/334182-site-issues/page/3/#findComment-2627725 Share on other sites
wern apfel
I do not know if website responsiveness is better, it has never been a real problem for me. I still miss the "new content" button, but definitely do not miss the timeline. For me, the more advanced users seem to be avoiding the forum, probably because of the annoying ads. arsradu
I don't know. I don't mind the ads that much. Although they are a bit "in your face", at least the video ones, they are muted, they don't pop-up on your screen, so it's ok. And I understand their purpose. What bothered me before was not that. It was the sluggishness of the forum. It's hard to get things done (either post something, or read something you're interested in) when it's this slooooow with so many errors. And I hate waiting for things to load. So yeah, to me, that's a big thumbs up. A lot of the issues have already been fixed. Apparently fixing them created new issues. But hey, it happens sometimes. I'm still waiting for a dark theme, though... I know it probably sounds like a small thing, but I really, really want that. It's really tiring to my eyes to stare at a white screen for too long. And of course, it would help a lot if someone could fix the Activity section soon. It's hard to keep track of your threads/posts otherwise. But other than that, I'm pretty happy with this update. By the way, accessing some threads is still a bit sluggish at times... Not sure why... It's not like it was before. And it's not all the time. But it still occurs sometimes with certain threads. Also, Tapatalk still has the issue of accessing a thread and not having it loaded on the first try. Usually refreshing the page does the trick. But...it shouldn't be like that. I still do not like dark themes though but that's not the reason to go without. 2 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/334182-site-issues/page/3/#findComment-2627845 Share on other sites

arsradu
Guys, posting seems to be really, really slow in some threads (like Clover General for example). Just posting (submitting a new post or editing an existing one). It stays in "Saving..." until the end of time. Also, posting from Tapatalk always creates duplicate posts for some reason... Since this doesn't happen to all the threads, for example doesn't seem to happen with this one, I'm thinking it could have something to do with the length of that thread....? Does that ring any bell? Does it make any sense? Meaning...the longer the thread, the longer the time spent on submitting a post...? Can anyone confirm this theory? Poco
It could be that large threads have more issues, the Clover general thread is quite impressive in length! :p I'm also running a cleanup tool in the background to prune old unused accounts so that may affect the performance somewhat Did you have trouble posting here? wern apfel
Finally, I discovered the Unread Content button, which is way better than the All Activity Timeline. It always takes a loooong time to post in that thread. That’s why I assumed it could be because of how big that thread is. However, posting here, for example, is a lot quicker. And i’m not talking about posts with attachments. Just simple posts. Cyberdevs
Hi @Poco how are you doing? Thanks again for all the hard work and your efforts the site is more responsive and as fast as it can be. I have an issue using Personal Messenger. When I click on the notification button and select the link to the new PM it will load the first page on the PMs and if there are more than one page by clicking the "Last Page" button it shows that the page is loading but nothing happens, the PM page stays on the first page unless I refresh the page and then it will load the last page. I tested Safari and Chrome and the issue exists in both. Haven't tested FireFox or Opera though. This won't happen if I click on the notification using the "Message" button. I also have a request regarding the number of the shown RECENT TOPICS and LATEST FILES which is set to 5 and with the amount of topics being created daily (considering that we have over 342,349 users or so) and the files being updated more frequently AND I know that site uses some spaces to show ads, I think that would be a good idea to increase the number from 5 to 8 or 10 if that's possible. Thanks in advance Best Regards, Cyberdevs 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/334182-site-issues/page/3/#findComment-2631157 Share on other sites

Thanks in advance Best Regards, Cyberdevs Yep, thanks for bringing this up again. It's been actually on the first page for a while now. :))) Buried between other posts. Also, I mentioned before about an issue where the user can't use the left/right arrow keys to move the cursor for editing. This happens when entering a smiley face like this one :). Could be intended... I guess. I mean, if you press the spacebar, the smiley face will get from text to actual image, and then you'll be able to use the arrow keys. But right after pressing ":)", if you try to press the Left arrow key to edit something, that won't work. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/334182-site-issues/page/3/#findComment-2631513 Share on other sites

Oh, I missed your first post about the same issue in the PM page, but I guess as you said it forgotten or just the Tech Team didn't find the time to fix that issue. Anyways that would be great if they do fix it. and about the smilies that would be nice if we can have them show up as we type them :)! 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/334182-site-issues/page/3/#findComment-2631515 Share on other sites

apianti
I keep getting errors with the HTTPS certificate, every browser randomly is warning me that the site is not secure because the certificate is invalid. It appears to be happening randomly and was not happening before a few days ago. Refreshing seems to fix the issue but its still annoying.
