I'm using a LG TV 4k as a monitor, vis displayport converter to hdmi.  If I use 1080p, sleep works.  If I disconnect the TV before wake, then reconnect, sleep works. But if I just wake the computer when the screen is 4k, it always freezes after sleep.  This sleep problem seems driven by the external TV connection.  Unfortunately, there seems to be no other way to connect the TV, since the nvidia driver only drives 4k via display port. Also, related to this, my TV is being recognize as an 72" LG, when it's only 65".  Also, the display connection has problem detecting, and many times I plug it in, it doesn't recognize the output, so I have to try several times to get the connection going.

I'm using 10.13.1 High Sierra

Any fixes for something like this?

I'm able to unfreeze the computer if I unplug/replug the TV.  It's clearly a problem with the external display's sleep when it's set on 4k.  I've been searching around, and others have complained about the same issue.  There seems to be no fix yet.

Correction: if I replug the displayport->hdmi adapter, it unfreezes, but if I replug the hdmi cable into the adapter, there's no change.  It looks like there's a compatibility problem with the displayport->hdmi adapter for 4k.  I tested 4 different adapters, including the club 3d, and they all have the same problem.
