Natit new development version with ATI and nVidia dual screen

Here are my experiences/problems:

My MSI RX1600XT card is fully recognized and everything, both displays. No kernel panics or failures. But the GUI won't open at any driver combination! OK, with one I got a blue screen with some moving waves on the main monitor with an older Natit.kext. Without patches I have full QE/CI but no mode selection.

I tried every combination of Natit drivers, the new ATINDRV/IONDRVSupport.kexts, NeoPheus' installer... no problems at all, but always no GUI anymore. Tried with standard and patched ATIRadeonX1000.kexts. I'm using Myzar 10.4.7 on AMD 3700+ SSE3, card is dual-DVI PCIe but using 2x CRT via DVI->VGA adapter.

Could it be a manufacturer's problem that the MSI X1600XT is some kind of $%&§!! card? It's really frustrating to have a great system with only the mode selection missing thing.

I've dropped out of this thread for a little while and this is what I realize: we need a definitive wiki page with guides. Otherwise, a lot of people are only going to get even more confused.

Not to pick on anybody, but here's an example: toca1979 has a x1600 and wants to get dual displays working. Guedes Jr had a good intention to help him, but he's using a x1900. But what they don't realize is that Natit has very different results for these two different cards. What toca1979 should be using is the "dualx1600" kext on the first post of this thread. As the name implies, it's for a x1600 card with dual-displays. As long as toca1979 tries to use Guedes Jr's kexts and plists, he will never get dual displays working, and thus he'll just become more confused.

So like I said: we need a definitive wiki with well-written instructions. This Natit project has gotten a little on the sloppy side. Unless it's coordinated and clearer, we can't hope for many improvements to be made in the future.

I think you're right.

I am not able to make a guide, i am too noob with mac os to think i could help someone.

I also asked for a guide myself several times but have no response.

Hope to see it here soon.

i have installed natit for my new Ge Force 7300 GT.

card is recognised and QE, CI support..

but i have new problem with my usb sound - strange "clicks", hindrance....

after some tests i can conclude:

this happen on my usb audio after enabling QE/CI.

if natit kext disabled - sound playing well.

if i get natit working - i get sound hindrance......

also i test my build-in audio and it worked fine.

so this is a problem exactly with my usb audio (it's aiwa bmz)

any ideas ???

my new audio card is on the way ... and it's usb too (but with it's own drivers) ... hope it will work w/o problems fro me.....

using natit 0.02 on AMD X2 3800, nforce 410/430, GeForce 7600GT DVI+VGA+s-video

dual display extended works for VGA + TV, not DVI + TV. It takes some time to activate both screen at login windows (both stays black for about 20sec) then activate. If I hit detect displays, both screen just stop working. I need to unplug VGA and plug DVI to recover display on DVI only, but VGA and TV won't recover.

Newer natit kext from this topic never worked for dual display for me...

Don't know if it's been done before, I just made 2 scripts for those who often change natit/titan version manually.

So you just need to put the titan or natit kext in your extension and run the script.

then open a terminal window and type :

sh (sh + space)

and paste the script

so it looks like this :

sh /Users/gotoh/Desktop/natit-update.txt

this will remove your kext caches, remove natit kext if you installed titan, or remove titan if you installed natit, and set the correct rights to natit or titan kext...

just to make things a little easier and avoid typing each command every time...

EDIT

just realised I made a mistake with the part which should remove the titan or natit kext. So you still need to do it by hand, or correct the scripts... Sorry about this.

I'll fix this later...

EDIT 2

Fixed, added full recursive delete commands so the scripts are now safe to be used when you put a titan kext when you had a natit kext before... It should delete the one you don't want to use anymore (you have to make back up yourself)

so titan script will delete natit kext and caches, and set correct permission, natit script will do the opposite.

so just copy the one you want to use in your extension folder and run the correct script as described...

Sorry for the first with errors...

EDIT 3

little update, removed unnecessary lines for recursive delete...

natit_update.txt

titan_update.txt

Hi friends,

Neopheus, in my experiences with natit, I noticed that the same

only the ATI in info.plist make referencies, and that in the binary one

it does not have nothing I specify for the ATI.

When using natit with my FX-5600, I have both the outputs

working (DVI/VGA) and or values of the EDID in my displys are

recognized automatically, tested with two VS. in natit.

natit_dual_v0.02: only for the Nvidias:

I have dual, but not mirror my had DVI and as port 2, does not

function with my X1600.

natit_auto: for ATI and Nvidia:

I have dual, but not mirror, my had DVI and as port 2. and functions with my

X1600, but only with VGA port.

I noticed that valore EDID of the ATI is not read automatically, and

if I to place them in info.plist, in the maximum have mine displays in

clone, and I cannot make one outo detect of the monitors, therefore I

lose the sign of the DVI.

ja I tried with the DVI2VGA, but the results are the same ones.

Another information that perhaps helps, when using fx-5600 I do not

have dependences of kexts.

I have hope that this can help!

Thanks and sorry my bad Inglish.

Hum...

That´s interesting. Other day I asked about these dependencies.

I'll give a try on NATIT on my x1600xt to see what happens.

And as you asked, when I uninstalled Neopheus ATI 3.x package (single user, mounted the volume then ./uninstallscript), after the reboot I got stuck on the bluescreen. Two times this happened. Why?

Once I thought the original KEXTs weren´t copied to the original place, but I don´t know if I´m right.

Ok guys I hate to be a pain but I can't get this to work so I would really appreciate some help. I haven't been using OS X on account of not having my graphics problems sorted out with the new 10.4.8 install. Now I know you're prolly going to say something like, so use 10.4.7 and I would except I noticed such a big performance increase using .8 that it is what it is.

OK that said, here is what I did to make things easy, clean install of Jas' 10.4.8 CD, the reseed one that is currently on Demonoid. I haven't added any new kernels. Do I need to? Or does it even matter?

What I need for you to do. Please run through what Kext I need to install, how I need to install and what editing (if any) I need to do to get this working with DVI. My card is a Sapphire ATI X1900 XTX which I understand a few people have got working correctly with DVI, QE and CI. I DON'T need dual display, but if I can get DVI that would help immensely because having to keep a VGA cable around and swap between inputs is a pain.

Ok that said I hope you guys can help, cause I loved OS X when it was installed but not getting these things to work is a pain.

Thanks
