greenman100
I downloaded Natit, dropped it int eh extensions folder, and rebooted. I get resolution change, but no QE/CI. VasH
I get resolution change, but no QE/CI. I have a Sapphire x1600Pro. bighoffa
I have been following this for quite a while. The only thing that has prevented me from completely switching to OSX has been the inability to use dual monitors. I have the following setup and cannot for the life of me figure out how to get a second monitor recognized: AMD Sempron 3100+ with 128mb nVidia Ultra 5200 FX AGP running 10.4.7 JaS + 10.4.8 JaS AMD combo update from beta AMD install dvd. I have put K19-rc12 Semthex kernel and Paulicat's SMBios.kext in. I have installed Natit, Natit_edited, and Natit_auto hoping that one of them will help me. I have placed the EDID values obtained from SwitchResX of my monitors into Info.plist for Natit.kext using Plist Editor Pro (It swaps byte order when I paste it, though --- not sure if this is normal). I have tried using AGPGart to make the card recognized as AGP and without AGPGart. I am able to get full support (QE/CI + resolution change) of the vga connector, but cannot get the DVI port to work at all. I have tried using straight DVI, and a DVI to analog connector without success. The screens are mirrored during boot, but the DVI port goes black at loginwindow. -EDIT- Using the Nvidia Accelerated Kexts from the demon (See later post on page 13), has allowed me to use the DVI port if it is the only port plugged in. I still cannot get both ports to be recognized at the same time. I am just not sure what else to try -- are there anymore edits that I need to make with other kexts? Thanks in advance for any help. joblo10
This works great on my 7600GT AGP! Thanks for your work! I only have one problem, dashboard crashes whenever I try to drop a new widget. Instead of making the ripple effect, the whole dashboard freezes for 15-20 seconds, in the better scenario, but most of the time it just crash the windowserver and I have to reset the computer. etc
I can't install Natit =( (tried Natit.kext and Natit ATI auto) When the system boots up it throws an error message "System extension cannot be used", "The system extension "/System/Library/Extensions/Natit.kext" was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product's vendor for an update" What's wrong? Also i've enabled QE/CI by editing AtiRadeonX1000.kext (but mouse tearing ) How i install Natit: 1) Copied Natit.kext in \System\Library\Extensions\ 2) Removed 2 kext cache files 3) Repaired file permissions (but it displays nothing repair information - only that disk check and repair completed) 4) Reboot Anything is wrong? What i missed? Some Terminal commands? My system configuration below in signature.
Guest bikedude880
Yup, there are a couple terminal commands (well, one really) that you missed. They are listed on Omni's site. Go into the terminal, browse to /System/Library/Extensions and type sudo chown -R root:wheel Natit.kext Remove Extensions.kextcache and Extensions.mkext and reboot. Should work. VasH
I do this, and get a blank blue screen. grrr. Have you a x1600pro? If yes, you have to use ATINDRV.kext and IONDRVSupport.kext from version 10.4.5 You can download the 10.4.5 update (the one for intelmac) from apple and extract only those 2 files. etc
greenman100, i do this and get it works! =) bikedude880, big thanks! But, i get a black screen (can't plug external monitor right now), but system works fine - power off button, then enter and system shuts down. Now, i'll try to use ATI auto (right now i've tested Natit.kext, that's maybe a mistake) Oh, don't want to offtop, but, how i can remove not empty directory with BSD commands? I'm a little bit noob (Before this post i deleted Natit.kext only after deleted all dirs and files in them)

greenman100
Have you a x1600pro? If yes, you have to use ATINDRV.kext and IONDRVSupport.kext from version 10.4.5 You can download the 10.4.5 update (the one for intelmac) from apple and extract only those 2 files. did this too, and it hangs on loading the LoginWindow screen. do I need to change anyting in the kexts? or just copy, and repair permissions? Yossarian
I recently installed 10.4.8 on my system and intended to try getting titan working. Since then I decided to try using Natit instead. After placing Natit or Natit-edited into my Extensions folder, removing the System/Library/Extension.* and rebooting, I get an immediate kext loading error that recommends reinstalling the kext or contanct the system admin. I own an nVidia graphics card, specifically eVGA e-GeForce 6200 LE. Looking at the info.plist I found the following code... <key>0x0221</key> <dict> <key>name</key> <string>GeForce 6200</string> </dict> Which I tried changing the Natit-edited to... <key>0x0222</key> <dict> <key>name</key> <string>GeForce 6200 LE</string> </dict> When I corrected the permissions and rebooted I got the spinning Grey Apple screen, then the monitor went black. Is are a different kext that I should be trying? Is there another step in the install process that I'm skipping? Any help is appreciated. Thanks. Atmosfear
@dm_webd: Please fix X1900 in Natit_auto to Alopias. I can successfully report full Dual-Screen support on Sapphire Radeon X1900 XT 256MB using either DVI-I or DVI2VGA on both DVI-Ports (all possible combinations, DVI autodetected, DVI2VGA after "Force Detection" or at bootup). Used JaS 10.4.8 reseed WITHOUT 10.4.4 loginwindow or borisbadenov X1000 packages and Natit_auto kext modified to use Alopias for X1900. Thank you so much, 1920x1200 on my Eizo 24" WS LCD looks so much crisper now, than via DVI2VGA needed with boribadenov!
etc
I've plugged external CRT monitor - nothing result (black screen) - system hangs up or simply ignoring my commands when loginwindow (possibly in that moment) show. Maybe i should remove card id from ATIRadeonX1000.kext?
