I am certain I am just missing something rediculously simple. It's probably also already been covered, but this post is 121 pages long.

So here it is,

I have OS X 10.4.8 with 8.8.1 kernel

I have the patcher..v1.15 & 1.16

I have the Sigmatel 9200.txt (do I have to do anything with this)

I attempt to drag it into the Patcher Window, but nothing happens. I also tried dragging it onto the patcher icon in the dock & on the desktop.

Nothing happens

I think I've done everything right to this point, but I have no sound.

Any help would be great, I am almost giddy at just the thought of having sound.

I have a Lenovo 3000 N100 and I'm very new to hackintosh. Everything seems to be working except for my sound. In about this mac all it says is Intel High Definition audio and it shows me I have audio out but I don't have any sound. I took this pic from windows and hopefully someone can help me figure out how to get sound.

Any help will be appreciated. Thx in advance.

Hi Taruga, I try the ALC862 test on the Biostar 945GZ Micro775SE mobo, and it give audio output ( no controls in System Preferences ) and Line in ( Internal Microphone ), see attached picture; but the Microphone is useless, so you are in the good track with this codec, but need more work. Thanks for your efforts, without then the Hackintosh comunity are deaf. :(

You have two options, try the ALC862 test ( first page at the end ), if that don't work with your system, go to this link: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...mp;#entry259784 and try with the Azalia package from Skippyretard, the last one don't give you line in or microphones, but you must have soun at least. Good luck. ;)

P.S. Remember to change the values in the codec for your particular one.

I tryed the ALC862 test which didnt work at all. Exactly what do I change.

"The first Info.plist still might need to be edited to change 0880 to your particular number and remove ApplHDA.kext from Extensions folder (and of course, delete the Extensions.*kext* files). "

I copied that from the link you suggested but don't know how to accomlish

this.

Thanks so much for your help.

Open the codec dump with TextEdit, go to Format menu and select Make Plain Text

My patcher works with Plain Text, not with Rich Text Format

If it shows stuff like this: \f0\fs24 then you´re got to convert it to Plain Text

Go to this link: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...4&hl=ALC880 There is a good guide by Skippyretard on what you have to do to adapt the kext to your specs. :)
