I would be happy if I could just get some sound out of my headphones jack! Are you sure it doesn´t have spdif out ?! The codec dump show it has, and the red light thing is other sign of that I have a lot of work left to do with those codecs....
Xavior Penguin
I hope this may help out a little bit... I decided to download Ubuntu 7.04, latest version and when I got my codec dump, I got the following...(see attachment) I was able to use my front audio jacks with no issue, of course, I used the LiveCD to do this. I tried using .12 all the way to .16 and I still get an "Unsupported Conexant Codec" error message. Here is that output: AppleHDA Patcher - 2006/2007 Taruga v1.16 _______________________________________________________ Codec : Conexant CX20549 (Venice) Vendor Id : 0x14f15045 Subsystem Id : 0x103c30bb _______________________________________________________ * Detected unsupported Conexant Codec Let me know if this helps at all. cloudrainstar
I installed using uphuck's 10.4.9 install dvd 1.3, with the 8.9.1 kernal for intel - 3 on a Fujitsu T4220 (with ALC262) With the Azalia driver on the dvd, I was able to get sound through my built-in speakers, but nothing else. After using Taruga's AppleHDA.kext and ALCinject.kext from Archive.zip of this post, I lost sound to my speakers but was able to get sound through my headphone jack, and was able to input sound using my microphone jack! I have attached the HALLab screenshots of both before and after. Hope that helps! If there's anything else I can do, let me know.
swindlerborealis
Taruga I just ran through your alc262 test and I believe I can report good news! First off I'm running on 10.4.10 with the latest kernel (by the way if you need any more info on my config just ask). After inserting alcinject and applehda (I was not sure if I needed to remove azaliaaudio from extensions so I did for this one) and ran the permissions fixer and such. After rebooting the audio icon showed up in the upper right where it normally does and, unlike most times, I was able to change the volume slider up and down without it disappearing altogether. The first time I tried to move it up and down there was about a 5 second lag where it seemed all processing power was going to it and then it snapped out of it and I'm now able to do so without any delay. No sound is coming out of the internal speakers as you expected. Unlike what normally happens though, under audio in system preferences there is one output (as normal) AND one input, internal microphone. I have no way to test if the microphone works however. System profiler appears as it always did only stating Intel High Definition Audio with no available devices. The only thing that's left to say I guess is that I'm able to play a song in iTunes just obviously without hearing it (the timer for the music shows that the song is playing but I don't think it would normally attempt playing if no audio device was detected so all in all I think this is a step in the right direction). ----------- by the way this all showed up under the standard os x tools, I am unaware of where to get Hallab, can someone throw me a link? Anawrahta
Hi Taruga, I did as you told me with applehda and alcinject, but got nothing from hallab, so then I saw cloudrainstar's post and tried to reproduce what he had. I installed azalia, and got sound through speakers as expected, and as I've experienced before, then I installed your alcinject and applehda again. I've attached the pics below, there was no output sound, even though I could still control volume and the system preferences knew there was device there. Also input worked through the microphone jack and audio control panel showed input, but I couldn't actually verify a recording i made because there was no output. by the way this all showed up under the standard os x tools, I am unaware of where to get Hallab, can someone throw me a link? http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...;p=440597

cloudrainstar
With ALC262test2, I can now choose where to output the sound -- either speakers or headphone jack. Input is still microphone jack only. Now if there was a way to get my built-in dualchannel mic to show up too!

crimin3l
That ioreg dump doesn´t report a loaded applehda.kext, are you sure you did this ioreg dump after applying the patch ?! I'm sure ... after applying the patch applehda doesn't seem to load anymore in system profiler. I can kextload it manualy but no sound and, at next restart, still it doesn't load. Might it be a "next step" for me or am i stuck with a dead end ? Do u think at enything else i can try ? Thanks P.S. As i told u i have osx 10.4.8 and i have used applehdapatcher v 16 as u instructed me to do. Have allso tryed other versions like 15 and 13 but no luck. I will try again but i don't think it will make any difference.
