download the latest daemonES kernel (should be the first link on google, its only about a 4mb file but i don't think we can post it here.) rename it to whatever you want, place it in the root of your drive then restart. press f8 at startup and type in the name you chose. this should then boot using daemonES' kernel and there wont be any kernel panics. it can also be altered in com.apple.boot.plist for a more permenant solution. Hope this helps.

Great thanks Mass-Face. Offcouse this is the easiest way. Stupid I didn't thought that myself.

I just booted with this kernel and did the patch. Reboot and working.

Thanks for the tip :(

And offcourse all credits goes to Taruga for all his effort. Keep up the good work buddy.

Hi gagies, I think a slender majority of people on these boards are using Asrock motherboards, mainly the 945G-DVI, which is so easy to get working out of the box. As yet though, as far as I am aware, no one has documented how they got HD sound working on those motherboards, if at all. Whoever finds a way will probably find people naming their kids after them.

Ok...now almost all is working I have the following question:

How can set de LINE-INPUT always be open. (THRU) To hear the input that is connected to it, I have to open quicktime, then select NEW AUDIO RECORDING in the file-menu and move the volumeslider to the right.

As soon as I close quicktime the slider is back to zero and sound is gone. I want it always "open", without opening quicktime first and set slider.

There is no mixer as far as I know, only the AUDIO MIDI SETUP in Utilities but that doesn't help me really.

Hope to hear your solution.

Dell D820 9200 Dev ID 7690

I did some more playing around after running the patcher. Using my codec and the two 9200 codecs for dev id 7690 AppleHDA fails to load with the not a bundle error. If I use a sigmatel codec other than dev id 7690 AppleHDA loads fine but no sound. I replaced the Info.plist on the failed package with the orginal and it loads but still no sound. So it seems to be something to do with the Info.plist file. I tried editing a codec file with my devid and it still fails. I have not had any progess with using hexedit to manualy patch and edit the Info.plist. Attached is my codec dump. Thanks in advance for your help.

Taruga, grats for the breakthrough! :police:

1.08 works very well on my D945GNTLR board using the provided 9223 codec dump.

The only missing feature is the microphone level settings (for the line-in is ok). Is there any way to change the default mic level?

Really good job! Thanks again!

Bye,

zef

ALC660 without success =/

Using mine or provided dump cause kext doesn't load =~

Waiting for a new version...

(When I delete Line In and Microphone sections on Info.plist, the kext loads but without any Input)

Well I know this is not the right place to ask but... The AppleHDA installer crashes my system (semthex kernel dec 9) so I downloaded mifki's and daemones' kernel since some people reported success with those. Problem is, I've tried to load both with no luck, always give kernel panic on boot. I've tried -s -legacy -v -x several times and still won't boot. Any ideas?? thanks in advance, i'm fearing this is a dead end

Hi,

I am using OS X 10.4.6 and my Gateway MX6446 laptop uses the Sigmatel 7634 codec. I tried installing the patcher by dragging the file for STAC7634.txt onto the patcher icon and it says that it patches AppleHDA extension but I get a kernel panic on AppleHDAController extension when I reboot.

Is this codec supposed to work ?

Does anyone know what I can do to fix this ? I'm dying to get sound working.

thanks,

JD
