Could anyone tell me how to use these new 9228 kexts? Just replace those in system/library/extension, repair and reboot?

After several attempts, I have no idea why it took so many... it works!!... all you have to do is drag the 2 kexts into Kext Helper b7, google search it.

I installed the beta4some861_880models.zip in an attempt to get my ALC880 working and it worked.. but when the volume is all the way up I hear extreme distortion and the volume is very low.

 

I can't figure out how to get rid of the cracking and get the volume to go higher. I also tried to install a modified Azalia audio kext I found on the forum and it worked without the distortion but it still had very low volume.

 

Can anyone help me?

Taruga, kindly help me with this one. i made this dump using mandriva.

 

steps i used:

1. load mandriva create dump

2. apply dump using 1.20 AppleHDA patcher / also tried 1.16

3. reboot

 

Problem:

Leopard detects the onboard sound card (SigmaTel STAC9221 A2) but no sound comes out.

I hope you can help me on this one.

 

Specs are:

ECS 945GCT Mobo

2.2Ghz intel core 2 duo

1 ghz ram

Nvidia 7300GS 256Mbs

can anybody please help me get my audio up? I have everything else running flawlessly! This dang intel mobo

 

has the sigmatel STAC9271D codec. I've tried numerous options to no avail. HDA patching with the only codec dump I've found!! kext reader to run the kexts from this page :( I can't get it going

I just need a little help.

The new AppleHDA for 9228 works great, Mic works from Jack but inside Mic (at webcam) doesn't.

 

Taruga, what makes the mute button works, it is greyed out/disabled.

I have a Dell m1303 with 9228 audio chipset (id 0x083847616) , last night I got the sound to work correctly using lastest kexts. Onboard speakers were working, mute when headphone plguin (far left), sound go to headphone. Mic is working (plugins). However the sound is gone this morning, I tried so many thing to get the sound work again without success. Using the 2 kexts and Kexts helper, I install the kexts many times. Sometimes it gave me sound from both spekers and head phone at the same time, sometimes there was no sound at all (devices were still in sound preference. However, after rebooting the sound comes and goes randomly. One time I got the sound to work like this: Sound from both speakers and left front jack. Change the sound device to head phone (from internal speakers) then the 2nd headphone jack worked. I swore myself to keep my laptop run forever because I fear that rebooting it will cause the sound to go away. Well, I have to reboot it anyway, and the sound is off now. Now I go back with my own dump and only get the sound from left headphone jack.

I tried the same kext files over and over and got different results everytimg

Well, this really isn't the thread for that question, but I think Taruga won't mind... much... (I hope).LAN is a really nasty pain in the.. rear. The network card is made by Altec Lansig and there isn't a bug free working driver for it. I had to get a new LAN card - Realtek8139 - and got Leo's latest drivers for it, somewhere in this forum. Just searched for it. If you find a RealTek card with a RTL8169 chipset, use it! Forget the original LAN card
So, when is 2.0 planned to be released?

That is a shame, because i now use the onboard (gigabit) lan port of my Asus P5Kc motherboard...

I used acl268 patch and my sound works good. Lots of thanks for this work. Besides I have a problem related to this.

I have a Yukon2 ethernet card (88e8055; 0x436311ab; subsys 0763152d) When I look my leo, it says sound is 0x152d0763, intel hd audio. So, if I use audio, my ethernet cant initiate. When I remove audio kexts, ethernet works flawlessly. Is there anything I can do? I think there is a conflict between this devices..

I got the same problem. Yesterday my sound has gone! I tried to reboot, reinstall kexts but nothing.. I think there's some problem with the sound initialization. The sound preferences remains unchanged..

Just a quick question.

 

I can see the ALC262 listed in the attachment list, but the problem is I got ALC260 instead.

 

Just want to know whether this (ALC262) will work for my ALC260. If it is just a problem in PCI ID recognition, I would like to test it out.

 

Mine is a Fujitsu S7021 running ALC260 HD Audio codec. Sound only from internal speaker.

On a completely unrelated note. . . :D

 

The Sigmatel 9228 doesn't work on any of the leopard patchers. My Tiger patch was on v1.09. I'll attach my codec here as well as drop it in the email - but don't worry about it, I can live with switching to linux every now and then - V2 is more important than my convenience. :P

I removed Alcinject and AppleHDA kexts to desktop. After that ethernet worked. After that i recopied alcinject and Applehda to extensions. Now both of them (sound and ethernet) works. Its wierd but it works. I think before sound, yukon2 must be patched first.

The Sigmatel 9228 is not a codec, it is an AppleHDA.kext already patched :)

It's not working for me at all..

 

 

I have a Dell Dimension 5150, and I read the guide over at the Genius Bar on 5150s. I used the patcher with a Sigmatel 9220 and 9221 codec dump, and it said it was fine. I rebooted and nothing at all shows up on my input/output screen. I have A215 Dell Speakers, they come with the pc. I'm running iAtkos 10.5.1.

It worked!! Actually, it is not the lid closing that helps, but the sleep operation.
