NemesisSheep
I'm the guy that produced the original Codec Dump for the Sigmatel 9227. I had sound working in 10.5 after running the Patcher version 1.16, but it didn't let me use the microphone. I used the 1.17 patcher last night and now I have no sound at all. Hmmmm......Kinda odd. I will update if I figure anything out.
Nummon
My sound on ASUS P5B motherboard is AD1988 (see image) I installed OSX86 Leopard by ToH RC2. The problem is sound onboard not working. and I installed AppleHDA Patcher 1.17 with AD1988B.txt after reboot system, It still no sound Need help Thank
NemesisSheep
Okay. I checked out the HDA Patcher 1.17 using the codec dump found on the codec dump website (which is my original one) and I get no sound at all. I actually had to delete everything and restore the original AppleHDA.kext from the Leopard install disc and then use the HDA Patcher 1.16 to get my sound back but without microphone use. So my specific codec dump doesn't seem to work as of yet with the new patcher. Although, you can get sound with no microphone using the 1.16 patcher. Hope this helps, everyone! And Taruga. bablefish
I have been struggling for a while to get sound working on my Asus F3 series notebook. It worked perfect in Tiger, but in Leopard I got it working but after a reboot it stopped again... Reinstalling the kext would not help, but reinstalling Leo and applying the kext from tiger or Tarugas HD Audio patcher (1.16) would give me sound, but only once... Next reboot it would be gone. I have discovered that there are cache-files stored in /System/Library/Cache and /System/Library/Extensions/Cache that in some way caches kernel extensions and for the 10.4.9 extension for audio this spells trouble :-) If I remove the files in this directory (boot with -s and remove them) and reboot I will get sound again.... My extremely quick and dirty fix to this is to simply replace the two directories with symbolic links to /tmp that are cleaned empty on every reboot, and now I got sound working.... I don't know if this causes something else to break yet, but I though I would share this info and see if anybody else gets it working... (If it breaks your system you have tried this on your own risk...) To create the links do the following (from a Terminal prompt): cd /System/Library sudo -s (give password) rm -rf Cache ln -s /tmp Cache cd Extensions rm -rf Cache ln -s /tmp Cache

Dainix
I, too, also tried HDA Patcher 1.17, and it left the sound card unheard. No input or output at all. I'll probably have to try 1.16 again to get output back.

antst
For everyone with DG965XX board and STAC9227 codec. There is my Info.plist which gives me working microphone on this board. No input level control though, but you can manually increase Boost value in plist. This is for FRONT mic. If you want to have working port on back - play with numbers yourself Info.plist.zip
