vinlar
Another hopeful user groveling for AD1988B support. Robin Masters
Try my guide here> http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...c=64754&hl= Full input & output has been achieved on some systems running Intel ICH7 on ADI codec. If you are under Intel chipset, in the AppleAC97AudioIntelICH.kext you need to place two copies of the vendor ID and device ID both under say the ICH7 and Nvidia AC97 sections ie. 0x27d88086 under the IOPCIMatch sections. Read my post for more info. Thank's Middleman, I have tried your guide, but for me don't work in or out audio. I have tried also the Conexant_HD_Audio.pkg.zip but nothing. My card is AD1981HD and my laptop is HP Compaq nx9420, there is a button with a little led for 'no sound' always on!

I have tried also the Conexant_HD_Audio.pkg.zip but nothing. My card is AD1981HD and my laptop is HP Compaq nx9420, there is a button with a little led for 'no sound' always on! Robin, I found that my guide works on most AC97 setups - I got 6 channel sound, mic & line-in on one machine! If you are using a Soundmax HD chip (which in your case, you are) you then have to use Taruga's AppleHDA method. Its actually quite easy - I solved another machine with a Realtek ALC883 using Taruga's method. And if you want to know what the binary code for your codec id is for AppleHDA, use the Apple Calculator set to Programming mode. If you use the HEX calc and type in 0x11D41981, and press the DEC button it should give you the number you need.

macgirl
Today I got the Ubuntu and Kubuntu Install Disks, with these I got sound on speakers (of course they are usign the ALSA driver that patches or bridge the headphones jack to the speakers and detects when a plug is inserted so silence the speakers and pass the shout to that jack) I fetch the codec#0 and now it has another sound option I think is the Digital (SPDIF) output through the HDMI connector, I have not an HDMI cable, decoder, Display so I can't confirm this now. Anyway if anyone want the dump here it is: in Mac OS I still getting sound only from headphones Jack 1 only codec0.txt

Mohammad Porooshani
Hi, I wanted to thank everybody here for their effortss to make these Sounds working. I think finding a good match for any listed soundcard here is even harder than writing a new one! in this mess I see here (126 page!) no one can find the answer. For example me, I can't find a way to enable my Volume bar for my CMI9880 on ICH6 of my Asus p5AD2-e mobo, and of course I have only 2-ch audio (anyhow I'm using analog speakers and I have 4-ch artificialy!). HDAPatcher won't work for my CMI9880 dump file I found in the link provided in the download instruction (on first page), it says Unsupported C-Media Codec detected!. Any guide? Am I missing a point (maybe I need to create my own Linux dump on my PC - which for sure I don't know how! ). Big man taruga is missing and nobody knows how to go on this project (specially when I think no one intrested in cmi9880!-poor Sound card!). I have an Creative audigy, but as everybody (for sure) knows, there would be no compatibility for it, so I have to use my onboard Sound card, I have sounds (thanks God!) but, only 2-ch,no input(nothing important here), no volume control, lots of jitters on some bitrates and much more frustration here... I love this Mac, But I love music more, what a hard life to live!

BOL_fan
I know the Sigmatel 9200 has been discussed many times over these 127 pages, but my output is a bit different. * Patching AppleHDA.kext to 0x83847690 Done * Checking AppleHDA for patch Done 0001f4a7 cmpl $0x83847690,%eax 0002058b cmpl $0x83847690,%eax * Checking for SPDIF Out Detected * Checking for SPDIF In Detected * Creating AppleHDA configs * Using the following nodes in pathmap Back Mic: 3 10 12 15 Speaker : 14 11 7 2 Spdif In : 4 8 Spdif Out: 9 5 * Copying new config to destination Done * Repairing Permissions Started verify/repair permissions on disk disk0s1 Hackintosh HD Determining correct file permissions. The privileges have been verified or repaired on the selected volume Verify/repair finished permissions on disk disk0s1 Hackintosh HD * Deleting Extensions Cache Done ** Done patching - You can reboot now ** Everything with the sound works great in Ubuntu 7.10, so I got my own code dump from that and used it with the 1.6 patcher (I'm running uphuck 10.4.9 v1.4i). Basically after I reboot, I get no sound in/out and nothing is listed in the Audio section of System Preferences. Also, the audio part of System Profiler shows nada. If anyone has any ideas, I'd be eternally grateful. I'll attach my linux dump in case anyone wants to take a peek. sig9200.txt

_quark_
It looks like 198b (1988b) is the most wanted... Any chances for it's support?

discin420style
It seem's that there are some outstanding cards that do not work in the sigmatel 9200 line. I have a Dell D420 that I have spent the good part of 2 weeks trying to patch, reinstall, repair...etc ...etc. I have tried tarugas patcher (all version) and it seems to detect everything correctly and attempt to patch the kexts but....no luck after reboot. I have tried my own codec dump from this machine as well as many of the others posted on various threads. Here is the top info of of the dump Codec: SigmaTel STAC9200 Address: 0 Vendor Id: 0x83847690 Subsystem Id: 0x102801d6 Revision Id: 0x102201 I am usually really good about searching the forums and finding the solutions but alas I need to ask for help. I have attached the full Codec dump from Linux for this machine. Any help would be appreciated. I would be willing to test anything anyone can offer. Peace, discin420style dell_d420_codec.txt
