ok, did you installed any kext for your sound card? if so you need to download AppleHDAPatch 1.20 and extract the folder but don't open it just drag and drop your code to the patch and wait until you see the message it till you to reboot your mac. reboot your mac and see if you have and sound...

Of course I did so :)

I mean there was no result.

I gave STAC9271D_0x83847627_testing a try on my Intel Bad Axe 2 (D975XBX2KR). It has no Sound Output, but it does let me adjust volume and use the mute function. I tried all of the ports and none had sound output. Using the Linux codec dump, I get stereo output but no Mute or Mic Input.

what do you see when you drag and drop you code to AppleHDA patcher?

That's probably because I don't have SPDIF :(

I did the dump myself from Ubuntu linux.

Hello,

First of all please excuse me for being so noob in Mac, It's my first time on an OS X, I'm using Linux/Unix since 5 years but I just don't know Mac enough yet.

Anyway I have a Toshiba Satellite A135-S4427 It has an Intel 82801G (ICH7) Sound card, But I am unable to get the model number in the format ALC or AD... As I said I'm new to Mac I couldn't find the command to dump hardware info, but on the GUI I only found this:

Device ID:	0x1179FF01
Audio ID:	12
Available Devices:

Here's some more information but taken from Linux

lspci -vvv

udevinfo -a -p /sys/class/sound/audio

I'm currently using the driver AzaliaAudio.pkg.zip The audio output works nicely I can Increase/Decrease the volume the sound is recognized well but I have 2 problems, The headphones jack is not working, the sound just keep coming from the speakers, and the audio input is not working, there's no input device.

Thanks guys and keep up the good work.

Need your help.

ECS 945GCT-M/1333 V3.0 mother board, E6750 cpu, 1GB memory, running on board G950 video with Kalyway 10.5.1. The docs say it has IDT 92hd202 6-channel Hi Def Audio Codec (good sound in XP and Linux), the attached Linux dump indicates SigmaTel STAC9221 A2. I have tried your patchers from 1.15 to 1.20. I see internal speakers and digital out in the setup screens but no audio output. Here is the last patcher run:

here's my Conexant Cx20551 (waikiki) audio dump from ubuntu.

a lot of ppl with conexant have gotten it to work with hda patcher but when i insert the dump file in it and reboot, i have no sound device. with azaliaaudio i have the icon and the line out/headphones always works. 2ch output from speakers only works if i restart from vista and boot into leopard. if i reboot from leopard and boot back into leopard it wont work...its really weird. i hope someone can help me out here.

thank you devs for getting us all this far..

ALC889a

Hi everybody,

Thanks again for the great work everybody is doing on getting OSx86 as native as possible!

I am running OSx86 on GA-EP35-DS3R board natively, with AppleHDA Patcher and EFI string (without ALCinject) but don't get any output conrols in Audio/MIDI setup (to change 44.1/48/88.2/96kHz). Since this is a very common Codec (almost all GA-P35 boards run with the same ALC889a) has anybody had any success with muliple outs and higher definition?

I'll keep trying,

:D

ALC889a: <Audio/Midi Setup> all working

Here is how I got my codec dump (thanks to jedavis1):

1) Got latest Ubuntu from (http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download) and burned to CD

2) Boot from CD; start <Terminal>; cd /proc/asound/card0/; ls -l;

3) Look for used Codec#nr (nr=2 for my setup), cat codec#nr; copy and paste into Text file editor, Save to USB stick or such (Ubuntu mounts HD in read only)

4) Boot back into OS X and then use this file for patching

dragged and dropped codec dump onto AppleHDAPatcherv1.20 and got output working. I can now change the Input/Output sample rates (44.1,48,88.2,96kHz all working) in <Audio/Midi Setup>, built Aggregate Devices for 7.1 Output etc. Very cool for entry level Logic Pro & Garageband users!

Thanks for all the help and support to

Taruga and all of his testers!

I just wanted to add that HDAudio.kext v3 - It just says that kext loaded successfully. v5 and v6 cause a kernel panic.

My spec

Toshiba Tecra M9 Core2 Duo running Kalaway 10.5.1 updated to 10.5.2

Sound card: ALC262

I'm new to x86 so this is all confusing to me.

I have a BFG nForce 680i SLI mb. It uses the Realtek HD Audio controller in WinXP home. The first page of this shows a lot of stuff but I have no idea which one to use. Can someone point me to the right one to try?

Check this post, follow the instructions and you should get something like this, this should give you all the information you need to start, for example I know mine is ALC862-VD once a patch is made I'll just run it with the AppleHDA patcher...

Hope that helps

Ok, I have been reading through pages fo posts, so if someone knows the answer to this, I missed it. I have an Asus p5l-mx MB that has the ad1986a soundchip on it. I can get sound by using the azalia out coded can the olume slider works perfect, nut no microphone or line in are available. If I use the ad1986 applehda patcher I get line inputs but the volume slider is greyed out and volume can not be adjsuted.

IS THERE A SIMPLE SOLUTION TO THIS I MISSED? Or a way to fix it?

(I am a newbie to linux and MAC OS, but I am an IT person in windows and I have another gigabyte MB running leopard perfectly with sound, lan, sata, usb, dual screen video and een hardware RAID, so I am capable of doing simple things to fix an issue.)

Does anybody know how to get the VIA VT1708 Vinyl Audio working? I found Linux codecs but don't have Linux to make a dump to find out whether or not it's compatible with AppleHDA (which I'm not even sure it would be).

Here's a link to the Linux codec in case whoever is reading this is a hero and decides to make a dump for me.

http://driverscollection.com/?H=VT1708&amp...IA&SS=Linux

Other than that... any other solutions for the VIA VT1708? Haven't found any solutions on these boards.
