This is a call for help to Taruga, if he/she is available:

How's it going? I have a Lenovo 3000 Y410 notebook that I've successfully installed Leopard and Vista on it. Basically, everything works except the audio and the networking. (Wireless networking is the infamous Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG adapter. Ethernet is a Broadcom 590x adapter. Can't find anything at all on that. But I digress...)

The following info is from the Vista side about my audio controller:

* Realtek High Definition Audio Properties *

HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&CTLR_VEN_8086&CTLR_DEV_284B&VEN_10EC&DEV_0262&REV_1000

HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&CTLR_VEN_8086&VEN_10EC&DEV_0262&REV_1000

HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0262&REV_1000

HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&CTLR_VEN_8086&CTLR_DEV_284B&VEN_10EC&DEV_0262

HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&CTLR_VEN_8086&VEN_10EC&DEV_0262

HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0262

HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&CTLR_VEN_8086&CTLR_DEV_284B&VEN_10EC

HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&CTLR_VEN_8086&VEN_10EC

HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC

HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&CTLR_VEN_8086&CTLR_DEV_284B

HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&CTLR_VEN_8086

HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&GF&VEN_10EC&DEV_0262&SUBSYS_17AA3837&REV_1000

HDAUDIO\FUNC_01

HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0262&SUBSYS_17AA3837&REV_1000

HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0262&SUBSYS_17AA3837

* High Definition Audio Controller *

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_284B&SUBSYS_384E17AA&REV_03

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_284B&SUBSYS_384E17AA

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_284B&CC_040300

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_284B&CC_0403

As you can see, the Realtek High Definition Audio Properties list this:

* DEV = 0262

* VEN = 10EC

* SUBSYS = 17AA3837

...and the High Definition Audio Controller lists this:

* DEV = 284B

* VEN = 8086

* SUBSYS = 384E17AA

...but in the Apple System Profiler it lists this:

Device ID: 0x17AA384E

So I've used the AppleHDA patcher and the ALC262 codec, which is what I have, right? I've also edited an AppleAzaliaAudio.kext, with no results. I see an output device in my Sound Properties, but as many others have experienced, no audio out of the speakers or out of the headphones. I've tried editing the susbsystem in the code dump to reflect the two above and still, no sound. I know I must be like many others who are just missing something simple. Do you think I could get a bit of help from you on this?

Many thanks, and have a good day!

Taruga,

Thanks for the super-fast reply! I installed it, and same thing... with one notable difference. After the installer, I have a line input! I plugged some earbuds into my Line In and spoke into the [L] channel. Sure enough, it started the blue sound VU started bouncing in the "Sound" preferences. However, I still don't have any audio out. Not through speakers or through earbuds/headphones. Argh.

Is there anything I can do to help you find a solution to this? Like I said, many thanks for getting back to me so quickly!

Hello,

I have been searching for some answers for my audio issues and I am not sure if this is the right place to post.

My Problem is this:

I had ToH 10.5.0 installed, AD1988B drivers work for audio, right out the gate, no patch needed (however I had issues with the boot patching, so I installed Kalyway 10.5.1)

When I installed Kalyway 10.5.1 the audio no longer worked. Tried Azalia drivers (chmod and chown to the files in the "extensions" folder) still nothing. I have reinstalled and tried all the audio drivers given on the Kalyway build.

If possible please send me in the right direction, or let me know what info is needed to resolve this issue.

Thanks Much

The Muse

ALC268 on an Acer Extensa 5620

ALC268 gives me fixed output headphone sound only, via headphones.

I get a loud percussive rat-tat-tat-tat-tat-tat-tat sound from the speakers.

No inputs.

But it was a thrilling moment hearing sound coming thorugh the headphones. I rewatched an entire Simpsons episode. :-)

Also using the ALC883 module here. Do any of the latest patchers work? As in HDA patch?

I've just used the latest patch with an Asus P5 K Mobo codec ALC883, and Kalyway's 10.5.1 and sound works immediately after using the patch.

I have Dell Insiron 1520 and Sigmatel 9205. It there a solution for this card in Leopard 10.5.1 with EFI and vanilla kernel? I tried patcher v1.2 with many dumps, but no luck.

Also, after fresh install i got input and output devices in list, but no sound. After applying path there are no audio devices at all. Is it normal reaction for wrong codec dump, or I'm doing something wrong?

Taruga,

Thx for all your efforts. I waited long for mic, and line out on my alc861. Unfortunately your release of alc861 on 17/12 doesn' t work for me. Azalia works only for my built in speakers. But I have faith in you, that you will succeed in making it better in the near future. I'll keep checking the forum.

Greetings Koen

P.s. I installed it using the instructions on page 155 by JJduro. Tested on iATKOS v1.0i (r1)

@huyntvn13 and other sigmatel 9205 m8s

i already made a dump of my working sigmatel 9205 under debian 4.0r1 and send it to codecs@netcabo.pt with subject as vendor id like taruga mentioned in his first post.

i tried my dump under kalyway 10.5.1 with hdapatcher 1.20 but it didnt worked. we have to wait patiently until taruga finds time to get sigmatel 9205 working :D

codec dump and hdapatcher1.20 output attached.

if somebody else have a dump please pass it as e-mail to taruga - see thread post #1 for more informations.

on the other side posting it here would also be interesting cause it would be nice to see if there are great or any differenes in the available dumps.

hope the infos helps

so long ...
