this is my codec dump from linux can someone help me i have tried patcher 1.20 and 1.19 with no luck azaila works but i want headphone output

any help is apreciated ... :( ...(codec DUMP)

Hey Datriad, can you tell us if you could hear any sound from the internal speakers or another kind of signal??, the Azalia ALC861-VD (known in Windows as Realtek ALC-862) Owners is growing, so is good to know ANY info about your experience installing this codec.

all we know (so far, at least myself) is that the codec 'runs', is recognized by the system (System Preferences, Speaker icon on top right taskbar), but we can't hear anything from any route or signal source.

Cheers

I have ALC268 and patched with HDAPatcher 1.19. All goes well but in the readout it says nothing behind speakers:.

In Leopard I have volumecontrol and iTunes is playing but no sound. There is also no sound detected in "more info".

In preferences it says Realtek HD Audio in Output.

I am very confused now. Any Help?

Hi,

I have also tried Patcher 1.20 with ALC268 on hpdv6251 laptop, everything goes well but when I try to load appleHDA.kext I am getting following error:

can't add kernel extension AppleHDA.kext (not a bundle) (run kextload on this kext with -t for diagnostic output)

I've tried this both on leopard and on 10.4.10 with the same result.

Any help?

I am attaching my codec as well

Which one of OS lines Tiger Panter Leopard subversion will do with driver if so?

Thanks for any response.

Im using leo from ToH final release kernel 9.0.0 and the only patch work for my realtek ALC882 is v1.20

Other version does not resurect the front panel. One problem is

I cannot shutdown my laptop (MSI megabook 1022) with the patch installed (1.2)

Restarting is fine but when i go poweroff from menu my LCD got blank,

the disc indicator went off but my power button still shine-- waited for 3 hours but still.

Others patch or without patch it doesnt have any problem of shuting down.

but again...dos not have front panel.

Any idea ? Why is that o0o mighty Taruga...?

What have i done...?

thanks taruga

Hi i've also posted in another thread, but i have problems with my audio out. I have a alc889a it was working wonderfully but i broke it by pluging the output from my monitoring speakers in the stereo output. So i broke the left channel... :D

Does someone know how to change the mapping? I have 6 stereo plugs on this motherboard and only 3 are used, maybe if i change the stereo output to another plug it could work.

I have a Dell 1505 with the Sigmitel9200. I run the applehdapatcher and drag the sigmatel9200.txt file to it and nothing happens. is it suppose to make an output file that I can then install on the PC? what am I doing wrong??Thanks Merlin
You dont run the HDA Patcher you just drag the Sigmatel 9200.txt file onto the icon that you would use to launch the HDA Patcher and it will run then prompt you for your password then patch your sound drivers.I have an Acer Aspire 5720 notebook which apparently uses the ALC268 Codec. After installing leopard i could see the volume control and my device was listed as HDA Audio But i had no sound so i have tried to patch it with HDA Patcher using several .txt files including my own Ubuntu generated one to no avail. Is this Particular Codec supported?

I'm in desperate need for some help. As I am 85% on my Alienware m5550. Currently my sound is not working completely using the beta4some861_880models. For some reason my internal speakers showed up in the input section rather than output, stopping my sound from working, as this is the last thing I need to complete before I buy my Dell 1500 to finish the system off, I am really trying to push getting this done and am getting frustrated with no improvment. I have the 945gm ALC880 ICH7.

Subsystem Id: 0x8800000

Thanks

After countless reboots I've been able to reproduce the odd behavior I was having.

Using my Linux codec dump and HDApatcher v1.13 I get a working audio system. (Digital Out, Line Out, Mic all good)

If I reboot audio no longer works or appears in sound preferences.

Rerunning HDApatcher v1.13 again doesn't help.

Heres the weird part:

If I now use my codec dump with HDApatcher v.120 and reboot, i still don't have audio, but by doing this, if I try HDApatcher v1.13 again i get working audio once more.

Of course the cycle repeats and if I reboot I lose audio again.

Taruga, can you list the non-patching operations that v1.13 and v.120 are doing. Hopefully that might help in narrowing down what the real issue is.

(non-patching operations = repairing permissions, deleting cache files, erasing Extensions.mkext, for example)

You can run the patcher over and over again because it always creates a new ALCinject.kext and AppleHDA.kext

obs: The patcher deletes azalia if it finds it.

Oh, i see you edited my post in response to it. You want to keep your post no. down? Anyways, can i run different version (e.g. 1.12, 1.15, etc.) over again or just the SAME version? Also, how would i restore everything back to default? (i.e. the way it was before i used AppleHDA).

Can anyone comment on the best version of "boot and run from CD" Linux to use for getting a "Linux code dump"?

Maybe I did something incorrectly, but Linspire 2.03 didn't work for the purpose.

Followed the instructions here:

http://forum.insanelymac.com/lofiversion/i...php/t44972.html

I've used Ubuntu and Knoppix before. Would either of those work, or is some other Linux version better?

Since the target system is a P35 Intel chipset system with ALC662 audio chip, would only the "very latest" Linux version do what I'm looking for?

Thanks in advance.

Is there a solution for this?...

" *Detected unsupported \f0\fs26 Codec "

Version 1.20

Thanks

You´re using a file with Rich Text format and it needs to be Plain Text. Read the FAQ for more info

Thanks, the ubuntu 7.10 Live CD worked.

However, instead of:

"cat /proc/asound/card0/codec#0 > /Desktop/[codec dump filename].txt"

I needed to use:

"cat /proc/asound/card0/codec#2 > /Desktop/[codec dump filename].txt"

++++++++++

Edit: sound is now working in Leo 10.5.0.

Used the v. 1.20 HDA patcher & attached codec dump from Ubuntu 7.10 (re-done as a unix file using BBE).
