Hi Taruga,

 

at first thanks for realy great job you've done here !!!

 

I've tried alc861testing (beta4some doesn't work) with my ALC861:

Vendor Id: 0x10ec0861

Subsystem Id: 0x11791205

Revision Id: 0x100300

 

and audio out works fine, but Microphone is set to full but I can't hear anything while/after recording (Skype, Audacity).

 

Any ideas how to fix this?

Hello Taruga, first thing thanks for your work, I would like to know if there is any hope for HDAPatcher to work with ALC660 codec?

It s working with Azalia but with only speakers out no headphones no inputs.

I sent a dump to the email on first post.

Hi Taruga, first of all congrats for your alpha ALC861.

This is the first time I have any output devices listed on my system properties. The volume control is grey and I get no sound, so I must assume I'm doing something wrong.

What can I do to make this work? I had a similar problem with ubuntu Linux and had to edit some files to have sound. Do I have to do the same here?

I have a Asus F3JC laptop with subsystem ID 0X10430000. Hope this helps.

You´re not doing anything wrong, there are some problems that need to be fixed regarding muted speakers, mostly affecting notebooks.

I saw people with the same laptop as mine that reported that the Sigmatel I have worked with the patcher 1.15 on tiger. I'm running leo and ran the 1.18 but the device is not working. Can I try 1.15 without messing anything ?

Anyone have give a hint ? I got my version of codec from knoppix 5.1.1 is there other preffered place I should get it ?

if you mess anything, just boot with -s and delete applehda.kext from /System/Library/Extensions

 

Try v.1.17 also.

I have 0x83847680 too... and use SigmaTelSTAC9221A1mbp.txt (thanks to ptrubert) with Patch 17, 18, 18.1. All detected (in/out), but audio not work (no device in system tools). Please help me :( (i'm sorry for my English ;) )

I'm using ToH Leopard RC2 and I use AppleHDAPatcher 1.18 to install the driver,,

 

but i can't get sound out of my speakers and earplug,,

I tried to use AppleHDAPatcher 1.16,, I can get the sound out of both speakers and earplug,,

 

but I can't shutdown properly after installing the patch,,

 

my display turns off but my power and bluetooth LED keeps on and my notebook fan doesn't stop spinning,,

 

For ur information,,

I'm using DELL XPS M1210,,

 

Can somebody help me through this???

Writing in broken english and ranting on and on about the world ending doesn't help Taruga.

Any Mods monitoring this thread? It's probably one of the top threads here @ IM!

Well, English is not the native language for everybody in the world, including me, and therefore it´s difficult for people from other countries to write or type as good as you can. It´s still not to hard to understand a person with less then perfect english.I agree that people needs to be more specific about their problem or problems, and stick to the issue or issues they have, but some are new to this, and they don´t know exactly how to give and take the information needed here. You are still a little condecending and a little respectless.

I need to fix the mic, it´s showing as internal speaker...

Is it me or it seems most people are not getting sound with v1.18 and can get with previous versions ?!

I consider myself a PRO at breaking down broken english being as I speak with people via Skype from 15 countries; all wanting to perfect their english...

 

My post (which was dually noted by Taruga himself) was to provide STRUCTURE to THIS thread.

 

Taruga, like most DEVS are INUNDATED with emails, PMs, and worse all while working on something highly technical; with $0.00 and VERY little variety in hardware...

 

I have seen this {censored} push many people away from Osx86 and only want to protect the sanity and quality of Taruga and his work.

I imagine a php template is out of the question but would be ideal. People could fill out a form and add their own comments at the bottom.

I was wondering if a blog like Netkas would suit you better? If there is anything I can do to help, just ask me.

Yup, you are right. There are dozens and dozens of posts that just say: "No sound! HELP Tortuga!"

 

A form, like the one you posted, could be the right answer.

 

And for Christ's sake, the guy's name is Taruga, not Tortuga!
