Have you tested the patcher with this codec ? I don't the status of it, if it works or not.One thing I will do, is to create a reference page to check codec status, it is working or not, if it need more work, if doesn´t work at all, which hardware was tested, etc. It will help us all.

yes, i have. But it show as "Detected unsupported Sigmatel Codec" :P

Please check my signature for specific hardware which installed leopard.

Thanks so much for your help.

Open the codec file with TextEdit and check if on the menu Format shows Make Plain Text. If it shows, choose it and save. If it´s already in plain text, then try moving both the patcher and the codec dump to a usb pen, to other hard disk, to the root of the disk, etc and try again. Some of you had problems with paths before.

My patcher doesn´t decode Rich Text Files and some of you are using that format.

The codec is in plain text. I have tried to move it and AppleHDAPatcher to USB pen. Run again, and it also show the same message " Detected unsupported Sigmatel Code"

Nope, you have DOS line breaks on your dump, you need unix line breaks

Here is a fixed one: (test it and report of it works or not)

Yes, now i can patch, however no sound device after i reboot. Please see the result in attachment:

patch___result_of_9271D.rtf

After reboot, i check in "Sound" section: Sound Effects, Output and Input does not change or update anything :thumbsup_anim:

It seems the sound driver is not been activated.

Does it show any sound input and sound output devices ?

Get me some screenshots of it if you can

And, get an ioreg

Do:

ioreg -lw0 > /stac9721d.txt

and send me that file

Here is the result of ioreg command.

stac9721d.txt

For the screenshot, i am sorry. I don't know how to take the screenshot under Leopard PC :D please instruct me.

Thank you.

Screenshoot

- full screen: cmd + shift + 3

- select area: cmd +shift + 4

But according to your ioreg you should not have sound devices showing up, applehda was not loaded

Maybe an error of mine in the mic section or something more.

Try this one...

Hi Taruga,

I have having the similar message as b:z when using V1.8 patcher, "Detected unsupported cmedia codec"

Wonder my dump have DOS line breaks in it? attached my codec dump file.

mine is CM19880L on board the MSI 915P NEO2 . I only have sound in line out, but the volume control is grey out. The system preference sound output show HD audio output. And the system profile did not detect and built in Sound hardware.

Taruga,

Attached is a copy of a dump I took for my SigmaTel STAC9274D on an Intel Bad Axe 2 motherboard. I could use 1.16 of the patcher to get stereo audio working under Leopard - 1.17/1.18/1.18.1 seem to patch OK but I'm left with no audio. This isn't really the problem though, the problem is that mute just doesn't seem to work for me. I've had a look around here and it seems I'm not alone in encountering this problem, and I wondered if you'd come across any sort of solution.

Thanks!
