OK I've tried to check using kextstat. And only the

com.max.ALCinject (1.0.0d1)

loaded.

I also try to load the AppleHDA.kext manually but nothing happen.

And there is no sound output or input device on Sound Preference.

Can I use the AppleHDAPatcher_v1.16.zip to on 10.4.8?

Most be your chipset, send me an ioreg dump:

ioreg -lw0 > /ioreg.txt

and send me that file

Hi Taruga, for what I've read, it seems you returned to active duty on the quest for good sound on OSX, after trying to help jjduro with his F3Jc ALC861 - I have the same model - but it also seems that, after your sucess with some versions of ALC861, the work on F3Jc has stopped. Is that so? Did you managed to help jjduro?

I'm really new on this OSX stuff, but I'd realy love to have some sound comming out or my laptop. Do you need any help? I have two weeks before classes start again and not much to do until then...

There is no solution to that version yet, beta4some861_880models only works with Audio Mixer at 0x0c like this:Node 0x0c [Audio Mixer] wcaps 0x20010f: Stereo Amp-In Amp-Out Amp-In caps: ofs=0x00, nsteps=0x00, stepsize=0x00, mute=1 Amp-In vals: [0x80 0x80] [0x80 0x80] Amp-Out caps: ofs=0x40, nsteps=0x40, stepsize=0x03, mute=0 Amp-Out vals: [0x00 0x00] Connection: 2 0x02 0x0bOther variants with Pin Complex at 0x0c (like the one bellow) won´t work with beta4some861_880models kext´sNode 0x0c [Pin Complex] wcaps 0x400581: Stereo Pincap 0x0837: IN OUT Detect Pin Default 0x411111f0: [N/A] Speaker at Ext Rear Conn = 1/8, Color = Black Pin-ctls: 0x20: IN Power: 0x0 Connection: 1 0x19I´ve patched other kext for those... all devices show up but unfortunately no sound because of improper applehda.kext codec initialization for this model. It´s muted by default.

just we have to wait and cross the fingers ;)

This topic is only for HD Audio not AC97, sorry !If you have OS x 4.8 or more recent then do what I told you before. Download a 9220 sigmatel dump from the repository

Taruga I'm on the same situation my sigmatel 9220 didn't work, the only way to make it to work is using the 10.4.3 kext, but if I use your method (I did my own dump) but it didn't work using 1.16 and also I've tried with 10.4.8, 10.4.9 now I'm on 10.4.10 but I thing some 9220 works and some 9220 doesn't, also by the way I've flashed my motherboard with a different newer BIOS and It didn't work neither.

I've sent you my 9220 codec on your mail but I'll post it here later.

Sh*t! Sound is the one thing I need to have a laptop good enough to show off to all my Windo$e lover ars*hole friends.

I don't want to be very pessimistic about this, but this forum is full of devices that are waiting for drivers for about... forever.

:P

I know what you mean. The problem is that we have just one Taruga and a whole bunch of unsupported codecs.

And I stopped believing in miracles since Tuesday.

To be really honest I'm starting to wonder if I shouldn't buy another laptop... The problem is that Asus F3Jc is a really fine and compact laptop. I am at a loss here.

Don't leave your believes, someday we will hear a sound from our beloved Asus F3Jc.  :D

Hi Taruga,

Thanks so much for your effort on audio driver.

I have problem with my Realtek HDA ALC 262 on my Laptop BenQ T31.

I have test all your alc262test*.zip kext on post #1, but none of them working...

I'm using 10.4.8 with kernel 8.8.1.

I'm willing to do some test if you need.

The device does not detected.

Hey, try this and check if it loads:

Hi Taruga,

After installing kext in Archive.zip you gave, here is the result

The sound device are detected, two output device (line output, headphones) and one input device (microphone).

But still no sound come out from my T31.

And after I check loaded kext using kextstat there only

com.apple.driver.AppleHDAController (1.3.3a1) <68 16 5 4 3 2>
com.apple.driver.AppleHDA (1.3.3a1) <68 64 5 4 3 2>

loaded. While the

com.max.ALCinject (1.0.0d1) <16 11>

is not loaded. I try to load ALCinject manually but nothing changed.

Still there is no sound.

Here I send you some screen capture of HALLABS:

LineOutput.png

Headphones.png

Microphone.png

Once again thank you so much for your effort Taruga.

In what hardware did that happen ?

Sorry for the late post so many exams!

Anyways I guess that can mean a variety of things so how about if I attach my system profiler dump, if you need more info just ask and I'll search specifically.

hmm I guess I can't attach this type through insanelymac so here's an uploaded link: http://files-upload.com/files/501462/alc262-ghostparty.spx

Not at the moment, I´m still trying to fix that issue

Thanks for your feedback.

Could you give me some hints? I checked between my code dump and your file. I think the node setting shall be matched. is there any other item I shall notice? Ex. memory address, data pin assign?

Thanks,

Tesla

ALC861 (880) works on ASUS P5GD1-VM with beta4some861_880models.zip

Output:

analog stereo out on rear panel - works

digital - detected but not tested yet (no optical connector)

Input:

internal mic - works (Skype!)

line in - works

Front panel lineout/micin connectors does not work

Still 'No Built-in Audio' in System Profiler

OSX86 10.4.10 system with 8.10.1 kernel (koolkal)

Hello Taruga!

Have mobo Asus P5LD2 SE .. and so far had sound (Line Out) when installed AzaliaAudio.pkg ... so but wanted more outputs and input and tryed AD1986a.txt with AppleHDA Patch 1.16 and now I have some noise in my headphones, in audio preferences there is shown that I have Line Out and Digital Out, but volume slider is not working... and no sound...

In mobo manual says, that I have ADI1986A 6-ch Audio CODEC, Jack Sensing and Enumeration, S/PDIF out interface... So must be the right codec .. so maybe someone got it work?

Is there any way that I can uninstall or backroll AD1986a.txt with AppleHDA Patch 1.16 ?

I think the best result so far was with AppleHDA Patcher v1.13, give it a try

ps. There´s is no rollback, unless you delete AppleHDA.kext from extensions folder and then re-install the Azalia one

Thank You for so fast replay!

I allready did same, as You wrote - deleted AppleHDA.kext and reinstalled AzaliaAudio .. I have Line Out back, but will try with 1.13...

Another question - so if I will find some linux driver for 1986a, can I drop it in patcher?

Dont know if this will somebody help, but found AD1986A Functional Block Diagram and other info at Analog Devices home page:

http://www.analog.com/en/prod/0,2877,AD1986A,00.html

And found SoundMax ADI AD1986A Linux driver here:

http://files.aq.ru/index.php?link=158580&folderid=158293

Here is the latest version of that Linux driver (called Alsa Project):
