cloudrainstar
Try the new alc262test3 to check if both mic's are working A new input device shows up.. Sound Preferences calls it "Built-in Speakers", while HALLab calls it "Built-in Input" it doesn't seem to be working at all with my built-in stereo microphone... The other 3 things all work normally still.
swindlerborealis
Okay I tried both other tests now even though I don't have a built in mic but no matter which one I try I can't get sound to come out of any area, neither headphones nor built-in speakers. I was using hallab2 to check if it registers when itunes is playing a song and it indeed does and if I change it from headphones to speakers or vice-versa hallab shows the running somewhere option as yes or no depending. I tried this process using no azaliaaudio, the unmodified azalia, and the azalia that is modded to make the internal speakers work, all with no success. What have others done to get sound on their 262's? EDIT: I've attached some of the screens that Hallab shows for headphones and speakers, could the be that (in reference to picture 3) Channel M is mostly grayed out? crimin3l
Maybe you have some other sound related kext taking control and preventing applehda from loadingGo to System Profiles -> File -> Save As and save a system dump and send me to check it out Ok Taruga, now it seems it has loaded applehda and alcinject in systemprofiler but of course no sound or controls. I have pached with hdapatcher 14 and ubuntu codec dump. I have reexported mylastioreg and sysprofilerdump. hope i'm on the right track ... I realy can't see anything wrong ... Somebody said something about replacing in alcinject DAAAAAA with NAAAAA ... does this makes any sense ? I'm so tired ... hope i will eventualy hear sound out of my speakers ... What am i doing wrong ? Thanks mylastioreg.txt sysprofilerdump.txt

I still don´t see on your ioreg that applehda.kext is being loaded, don´t mix stuff I say with what others say... This way I can´t help you Ok no mixing ... i was just asking ... about applehda being loaded i see in extesnions list under system profiler an entry named applehdacontroller. If this is not what should load then i NEVER had anything else from applehda loaded (except alcinject wich is loading). this means it's not loading ok ... bus as i told u if i kextload it it first sais loaded then if i do it again in sais allready loaded ... meaning it wasn't already loaded ... wich confirms what u said . but how to load it ? something must be wrong ... Please tell me what should i do or try next cause i'm stuck !

pahncrd
I am using a UX280p with a alc262. I tried the kexts contained within alc262test3.zip. I get options for output of "line out" and "Headphone", but I cannot get any output through any port or speaker. The ux280p has a built in speaker and microphone along with headphone and microphone ports. With the azalia package I only get output through the headphones. It really looks as if this is getting really close to being complete, truly amazing work.

pahncrd
If you try my posted kext´s dont forget to remove AppleAzaliaAudio.kext or whatever it is called... or it won´t work I removed it before trying the kexts. The outputs do say they are running somewhere when I run hallab2. However I cannot figure out where the sound might be going. If this gets resolved there will be a forum full of happy UX users here http://www.micropctalk.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=24 The UX is becoming a super cool platform for OS X. Nothing quite like having OS X in the palm of my hand. EDIT: Would I get better results with the patcher?
bluedragon1971
I got the following error when trying your patcher: AppleHDA Patcher - 2006/2007 Taruga v1.16 _______________________________________________________ Codec : Conexant CX20549 (Venice) Vendor Id : 0x14f15045 Subsystem Id : 0x103c30bb _______________________________________________________ * Detected unsupported Conexant Codec Here's my codec dump. Anawrahta
Hi Taruga, Like ghostparty, I tried both the alc262test2 and 3 and although it's now showing the same as others in hallab, I get no sound out of headphones or speakers. Also I get zero input on my mic port, where I was getting some before on archive.zip. With test 2 and 3, there hallab does indeed show that something is coming through when i start and stop mp3s in itunes. Here's some screens from the test2 kexts. roccotocco
new on alc262 toshiba tecra a8 Ok Now i view in the system profile my audio card. all output and input are displayed correctly but sound only in the internal speaker and nothing in the headphone. the quality of sound on the speaker is the same of other patch: crakl, pops, bad sound with the on build sound-system. I used the script in this forum for correct disk permission and all the alc262 series (1,2,3archive,etc)
matemago
first of all, thanks Taruga for your work. i have a Sony Vaio VGN-N330FH with everything working fine, only having problems with audio. If i use Azalia i have speakers sound, but no headphones or mic. if i use any of your extensions revisions, i can see in HALLAB working audio, also in control panel, but i hear nothing. by using this version: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...mp;#entry440597 i have my mic working! but no audio yet coming out from speakers or headphones. i have a ALC262 device , VendID 10EC devID 0262 susbsystem 104D1600 i know this is very close to be working, i hope with your work i finally manage to have audio on my laptop. Taruga, what can i do? should i wait a little more for your research? is there anything else i can do? thanks again
