JeroenJ
Thanks for the patcher! Been using it for some time now since 10.4.8 though, I still have some problems: - is there a way to automatically switch the sound output ? If I put in my headphones on my Mac, it bypasses the speaker so I have sound on my headphones without doing anything. If I unplug it I get sound again from my speaker. (normal behaviour for windows ). I don't have it on my hackintosh (see sig). Any way to enable it ? - I have a docking station which has a headphone jack too, but I don't get any sound of it (not on linux too). On windows I don't have sound too with the standard driver.. I need to downlaod Sony's, so I guess there is something special for my dock, any way how to find out what it is, so that I can try to integrate it in my codec dump or something ? - Which files get modified by the patcher ? It would be great to backup them before patching while testing Thanks in advance and thanks for your great work! You've helped a lot of users here already
roneil4
Thank you so much man - this worked perfectly with the sigmatel 9200 sound card on a dell e1505 laptop. I thought the sound quality would be bad, but it sounds even better than on my windows partition!

Etherealed
Well I installed all the required stuff and then it asked me to reboot. After I did that now everytime I start up I get a freakn Please Reboot Message. Is there any way to fix this? Insert your OSX install disc and run the Disc Utility (under the Utilities menu bar) once you're at the install screen. Select the hard drive and click "Repair Disc Permissions". If that doesn't work, I'm afraid you may need to reformat.

jjduro
Well I installed all the required stuff and then it asked me to reboot. After I did that now everytime I start up I get a freakn Please Reboot Message. Is there any way to fix this? If you're using Semthex's 10.4.8 kernel, you'll have to chenge it for another one, like netka's. IF you're using the 10.4.9.. try the same. it can't hurt. i almost have alc861 working(used the dump from the site on the first post)...the patch says it detects spdif out but when i restart there is no device deteced. what am i doing wrong? EDIT: i just took a look at the info for appleHDA.txt and its all in there, it just fails to load. is there anything i can do about this? you're not doing anything wrong. Taruga's patcher simply doesn't work with alc 861. I have the same problem and the same "no sound" issue.

YoMuS
Hi all! I've just updated to 10.4.10 and lost the sound devices... I have an asus p5ld2 with ALC882 and was using the 0.4b package...(I see this package files in the Extensions folder, but the new kernel doesn't appear to load them) Thanks in advance... Edit: Ok, I've used the 1.16 patcher instead the previous package and now works. But I've got swapped the line out and the internal speaker jack, any solution? Thanks again! DavidAZ
Mac OS X 10.4.9 (Build 8P2137) Kernel Darwin 8.9.1 Dell Dimension 5150 Sigmatel Stac9220 When running the AppleHDA Patcher (1.16) with the appropriate codec_Sigma9220.txt file it seems to run normally, however, on reboot I get nothing more than a blue screen. Booting to single user (-s) mode and manually removing the AppleHDA.kext file and rebooting allows the system to boot again normally however without audio. Please advise... MrDabada
Hi! I have a SoundMax 1986HD audio device in my laptop with Mac OS X 10.4.9 and kernel 8.9.1 I tried the AppleHDAPatcher v16 and got no sound, however, with AppleHDAPatcher v13 i do have sound. I got sound in my internal speakers and in my headphones when I plug them. However, I have no volume slider and the sound comming from my speakers/headphones is too loud and I can't get no control of it. I've also noticed something strange, when i play a youtube video in safari, i get no sound, however, i do hear user interface sound and can hear videos in VLC player. I have tried to change the values of DefaultAudioVolumes.plist, changing all of them to -20db but nothing happened, still the same loudness... Does someone know how to change those parameters? It would be almost the final step. Thanks for this great job guys!!
