Hi Taruga and everybody!!!

Finally I can hear music on my laptop :P . Before that I couldn't do it, because every time I tried the laptop just crashed (kernel panic). Wath I did was:

-Fresh install of JaS OSX 10.4.8

-Applied JaS 10.4.9 combo update Intel SSE3

-Applied Taruga's Apple HDA Patcher v1.6 with this one : http://psykopat.free.fr/apple/AppleHDA/sig...igmatel9200.txt

-Rebooted

That's all. :thumbsup_anim:

My Laptop:

-Dell Precision M90 with Sigmatel 9200

-Running over a LACIE Fw800/Fw400/USB 160GB HDD and USB mouse.

THANK YOU very much!!!

Motherboard is:

Mobile Intel Calistoga-G i945GM

My sound is:

Analog Devices [sOUNDMAX] AD1981HD @ Intel 82801GBM ICH7-M - High Definition Audio Controller [b-0]

Device ID: 1981

VEN/HARDWARE ID: 11D4

SUBSYS_11790311&REV_1002

Interesting note about my laptop...it has a wheel for sound. Pressing in = MUTE/UNMUTE, turning wheel = Sound UP/DOWN.

Native sound NOT supported but wheel functions inside OSX 10.4.8 SSE2/SSE3 AMD/INTEL - JAS.

Very interesting that the sound wheel works but no audio in/out. Fixing a kext is reported to work for audio OUT ONLY.

I'd like to help make some more success to your wonderful work thus far.

still no luck with the system in sig and osx 10.4.9 :)

I tried everything, I changed the value of muteGPIO in appleHDA.kext to 0, I inserted manually the vendor id in ALCinject.kext but nothing!

Please could someone help me? I want to hear music from my digital speaker system!!!

thanks in advance

My codec is Realtek ALC882 on a Asus a7jc

Does anyone have a luck with alc862 + ICH7? The patcher from Taruga doesn't help. Even Azalia doesn't work for me - it is loaded, it shows output and i can control volume - no output on my Lenovo c200 with I945GM 82801G. If someone can give me a hint... this is my code0 dump under linux.

Up till now, I tried to get Conexant HD audio 5045 to work:

AzaliaAudio.pkg: gives output over built in speakers, input does not work, jack in/outputs insensitive and inactive.

Conexant HD Audio.pkg found in this forum installs AzaliaAudio.pkg again, same results.

Did a Linux dump on AppleHDApatcher 1.15 an 1.16: Detected unsupported Generic Codec

Anybody did some "advanced" stuff like node renumbering with succes?

Hi all...

Seems like my audio problems are solved!

I downloaded the "Mac OS X 10.4.9 Intel SSE3 [JaS 10.4.8 AMD-Intel-SSE2-SSE 3 with PPF1 & PPF2.iso + JaS.10.4.9.Combo.U pdate.Intel.SSE3.zip]" package from the green guy's site, installed it.

1st thing I noted was that the 7600GT worked out of the box!!! QE/CI/mirroring,reschange.

To be noted that I've installed the NV40.kext at installer options.

After that I put Taruga's 0.4b AppleHDA, and the osund worked perfectly, in AudioMidi it's seeing the input sources also. Didn't had the chance to test, 'cause I was already late from work. But I think it should work!

Thanks Taruga, thanks everybody!!!

Thanks Taruga for this fantastic tool!

Unfortunately, it doesn't work for me. I'm trying to get onboard sound to work, and regardless of what I do it never works!

My Motherboard is a EVGA board (Foxconn really) and has a Realtek ALC882d chipset. When I run your tool (0.16) and give it my codec that I dumped (attached below) it states that it patches it and asks me to reboot. I follow suit and I am greeted now by this during bootup.

ALCInject: Setting built-in= <data not shown>
ALCInject: Setting layout-id= <data not shown>
ALCInject: Setting pinConfigurations= <data not shown>
4.80.460AZA family specific matching fails

So, it seems the Kext is working but perhaps my chipset is unsupported!?

Any ideas on how to get it to work?!

Thanks!

alc 861??? anyone??

Forget it. I've been waiting for a solution for my alc861, since last year. I've seen Taruga fix a lot of mobo's and soundcards, but never alc861. and now, he, and a lot of the really good specialists are gone. It seems this project is almost dead

ALc 861 seems to be a very tricky codec.

But.. hey! I received today a free, legal copy of Vista! I think I'll have to install it as my master OS. :'(

I could kiss Taruga or one of the others if they found a way to make alc861 work, and I usually don't kiss guys....

Hey jjduro,

Don't give up your hackintosh too soon. Sigh, take a deep breath, go to the computer store and get a mini usb audio card like mine (see sig) for about 20 euros ( or get one on ebay for less).

Then, while listening to a good beat, realize that your're on your own like me and a whole lot of others going without without any of our respected Gurus who understand the magic of C Programming Language to aid your kextual needs.

I'm gonna try this weekend to download the apple HD audio source code from apple (search this forum for a link) and set to work to compile something. Or do node editing. Dunno yet how to do it but I want to get the conexant 5045 to work.

My reason for aal this: To go back to the preinstalled Vista on this laptop is worse than anything, Big Bro Bill made me pay about 50 euro for an OEM license. Here it is impossible to order a laptop like this one, so close to a macbook but then with a 15 ich screen, without any MS OS. That is nagging. When I see Vista boot, I feel like {censored}.

If I find a solution i will post it here but I am almost without hope. I am not a programmer.

keep it up. do not give in to Redmontian totalitarianism.

I hear you.

I bought a 15 euro USB card... But its just stupid having integrated speakers on you laptop and not using them. And instead having to use some crummy earphones to listen to anything. I just wanted 2 channel sound! no mic, no nothing. Just some sound on my stupid alc861. It would be so great!

By the way, I've just installed Vista for the first time (yes, its a legal copy), and the sound works great on my Asus F3jc laptop....

:)

Ol'uncle Bill wins once again

Sorry to read this. I have an adi soundmax 1988B on an asus motherboard and no acceptable solution. :P

Several people have told me: "Well, you knew what you were getting into. So, now, don't be suprised".

Maybe, there's some hope with the arrival of Leopard for the OSX x86 community... Maybe...

Hi everyone and thank you for your efforts,

Does someone have a better solution than modifying azalia.kext and getting only 2 channels out?

I've read all the 88 pages and event the other topic about alc88x driver, but nothing is working for me... I can see in signatures that some of you found a better solution, but i could'nt find it myself.

Anyone can help?

first of all thanks to Taruga for the hard work.

I have ADI1986A and the last patcher doesn't work for me, it shows two output (one normal and one digital) but no sound is coming out neither from internal speaker nor connecting headphones to the Output or Input jacks.

The only configuration that gives me sound (but just from internal speaker) is AppleAzalia.

I leave the attachment the dump taken from ubuntu:

hope it helps someone.

I have a AD1986A on a P5GV-MX mobo, all I get with the others Azalia patch is the sliding volume bar, and when I patched it with the AD1986A dump from the #1 post, the sliding bar still there but it is faded and I can't change it. But still no sound.

How do you make the linux dump? never mind....

"cat /proc/asound/Intel/codec#0 > /usr/ubunto/Desktop/AD1981HD_dump.txt"

May be a n00b question, but how do you find the exact codec you're using? I've hunted around the Windows Device Manager for ages, but can't find a thing. All I can get is "Realtek High Definition Audio". Make and model of the laptop is Acer Aspire 5630, less than a month old.

// Edit: I've managed to get this, if it helps at all:

Vendor ID: 10EC

Device ID: 0833

I have output working, but no input in OS X. Any help appreciated :)

Cheers
