KasperNL
A prepatched .kext would be wonderful if anyone has it or could make one for me, because "AppleHDAPatcher_v1.15" gives me a kernel panic. Dear SuperHero, I had the same problem (a kernel panic when launching AppleHDAPatcher), this problem is related to your kernel. I had the problem when I used the 8.8.1 (10.4.8) Semthex kernel, I crossgraded to a Deameos 8.8.1 (10.4.8) kernel and it worked perfectly, now I'm using the NetKas 8.9.1 (10.4.9) kernel and it also works fine. Ropiku
Hello, I have a ALC262 on my Fujitsu-Siemens S7110 notebook. Using Azalia only the internal speakers work. When ubuntu starts it succesful detect my audio card ( Ihear sound from speakers) but when I type: cat /proc/asound/card0/codec#0 (size of card#0 = 0) i got: Codec: Motorola Si3054 Address: 0 Vendor Id: 0x10573055 Subsystem Id: 0x10573055 Revision Id: 0x100700 It seems I get sound from my modem (i search in bios setup option to turn off modem but I dindnt find). Then I try: cat /proc/asound/card0/codec#1 (size of codec#1 = 0 too) I got: Codec: Realtek ALC880 Address: 1 Vendor Id: 0x10ec0880 Subsystem Id: 0x8800000 Revision Id: 0x100800 Default PCM: rates KevinCOP
Hello! First off, a big big THANK YOU for all of you who have/are working on this osx86 thing. I have everything working on my ihack except for the USB ports and the sound card, which is a Sigmatel 9227 on an Intel d946gzis mobo. I have the Jas 10.4.8 SSE3 only installed and I tried to use the HDA Patcher with a linux dump I created using a Mandriva live cd. It caused a kernel panic. I don't remember if the kernel was indeed 8.8.1 or not, but then I installed the Jas 10.4.9 upgrade, which comes with a 8.9.1 kernel. I tried patching again, and BOOM! Kernel panic. Before I upgraded, I was able to get the audio card recognized using a dump from someone else (on the ftp) but it wouldn't output any sound no matter what I did. (I have attached my Mandriva codec dump for the sigmatel 9227 on an intel d946gzis motherboard, created in 2006/I) Hope this helps someone. If you need to know more, ask away! 9227__G946GZIS_intel_board_.txt

If you need to know more, ask away! it seems semthex's kernels do that to hda patcher. you sould get another kernel, such as netkas'. I've used one of those and had no problems.. and no sound, but that is because my soundchip is not support by hda patcher - old ALC861. and you should really get a dump from your own system using ubuntu live CD or other distribution. the way how is a few hundred posts above this one. omass
Hello, I have tried lots of methods to make my sound work, I made only my Headphones work with AppleHDA Patcher using alc883ich8.txt dump file. Other problem is that sound is not clear (possible to listen music, but no way to see a movie). Anyway, I would like to ask if I can do something to make normal sound and also to make Internal speakers work? My system preferences shows: Output: Internal Speakers - built-in speaker Headphones - buit-in headphone Digital Out - built-in Digital Output Input: Internal microphone - Built-in Line In - Audio line-in port Line Out - Audio line-in port I am using Kernel 8.8.1 Ven 10ec Dev 0883 I would appreciate any help. king chris
Thanks for all your efforts, here are my results. I have working sound through the Azalia kext but this did not provide sound through headphones. Trying this it patches OK and reboots fine but no sound now, but does list a sound device in System Profiler and the sound control pannel. Attached is my dump for my 1986a. (which is in my Samsung Q35 laptop) Keep up the great work. 1986a.txt

Dainix
it seems semthex's kernels do that to hda patcher. you sould get another kernel, such as netkas'. I've used one of those and had no problems.. and no sound, but that is because my soundchip is not support by hda patcher - old ALC861.and you should really get a dump from your own system using ubuntu live CD or other distribution. the way how is a few hundred posts above this one. I don't know what exactly causes that, but on my Core 2 Duo, disabling 64bit mode did the trick, even with the Semthex kernel. For everyone that has a 64bit processor and the Semthex kernel, please, try the "-legacy" flag (sans the quotes) when starting up. This is most likely what's causing it to crash. jedavis1
I am having trouble with the infamous Sigmatel 9200. I have dumped my codec with a live Ubuntu CD. When I apply it with the patcher 1.5, nothing changes. If I use the 1.4 or 1.3, I get the volume in the menu area and it shows sound out in the preference panel, but I don't get any actual sound. I have tried the headphone jack also. I have tried with the -x boot option and the -legacy when I apply the patch, but I can't get any sound. Any help would be appreciated. I can post the codec dump if it would help anyone help me.
SLml2
Taruga Hi! I tried an "experiment" with your patcher I have conexant HDA audio. When i drop my codec dump in the patcher, i get the unssuported codec message. So i thought to try the following. I renamed the vendor id in my codec dump from 14f15045 to 10ec0883 so i could trick the patcher into thinking i have a realtec 883 codec. Then i droped the dump in the patcher and it patched the appleHDA kext. Then, following your AppleHDA Guide, i hex edited the patched AppleHDA binary to much my layout id (14f15045). I did the same with ALCinject. Then i edited the nodes in AppleHDA plist to match my codec dump's nodes. The result was the following. Upon reboot in -v i heard a popping sound indicating that AppleHDA loaded successfuly! On the desktop i saw the volume bar, but there was no sound. Neither internal laptop speakers neither headphones. Are there any directions you could give me so i can make this work? I'd really like to make this work. Speakers, headphone, and mic. My laptop is an HP Pavilion DV6000. Any help from you is greatly appreciated! Congratulations on your good work Thanks!
