Guest BuildSmart
I have an Intel D915GUXLKR, audio is ALC860 and while audio in works I can't get audio out working and I've tried tons of kexts and edits. Does anyone have this board and have audio in/out working in 10.4.8? What audio kexts are loaded? Is the AC97 kext loaded? (for me, no) Is the HDAudio kext loaded? (for me, yes) Is the Azalia kext loaded? (for me, yes) Is the AzaliaController kext loaded? (for me, yes) Can you post a list of your installed Extensions? möbius
Thanks for posting this, but I am having some problems. I got a codec dump from knoppix, but when I try to drag it onto the HDA patcher, it just tells me "unsupported generic codec." It has done this with 1.15, 1.14, and 1.13 with my dump, and others that have been posted. I tried IRC, but there wasn't anyone there that could help me out. Any suggestions would be useful. SampAcc
I have determined that at this point, today anyway, it is impossible to get an ALC862 to work. Hopefully, someone will prove me wrong, but I've hit nothing but brick walls. Realtek offers Linux drivers, binary for Fedora/RH, source for everyone else, but NEITHER supports the 862. I have tried running the 861 dump through Taruga's patcher but didn't fly. Nor did trying any of the SkippyRetard's 888 or 883. His "Generic Azalia" did at least show up in the Sound Control Panel but it didn't actually work. No sound. Since I can't get a codec dump from a working linux driver, and I can't get source code from Realtek that supports the 862, their own chipset, I'm SOL. Someone please prove me wrong. In the mean time, I think I might grab a Griffin iMic. Anyone have luck with those?
aylamrin
Hi guys, I'm using a 946GZIS mobo. The SUSE Linux dump showed a Sigmatel 9227 card. When I patch it with 1.12/1.13/1.14/1.15 I'm getting the volume control but there is simply *no sound* output from the ports. The voume control is set at max. One more thing is that ver 1.12 & 1.13 are not detecting S/PDIF in/out while 1.14 & 1.15 are detecting 'em. I'm using 10.4.8 mifki w/out NX kernel. I'm attaching my dump here. Very slightly different from the repository version. (Doesn't matter I think). Can anybody please please please help me? Where am I going wrong? codecdump.txt Edited February 22, 2007 by nirmalya

B612
Hey, Taruga. I have an AD1986a, as integrated sound card (ASUS P5GL-MX mainboard). My Hackintosh reads it as HD Audio, only if I keep AppleAzaliaAudio.kext. I have tried to delete that kext and to install your AppleHDA v0.4 pkg, but I have had no results. Then I have tried with your patchers, v. 1.12 1.13 1.14 1.15 and the codec dump from that french website, but nothing. I drag the codec dump to the icon, and then nothing happens. Any suggestions??? (My kernel is 8.8.1 Semthex) Thank you very much

(My kernel is 8.8.1 Semthex) Thank you very much I can't believe I am replying to myself! OK, I have solved everything, and I can report it, in order for the others to feel as I do now! IT WORKS, but NOT with the 1.15 patcher. You have to use the 1.13. About the use of the patcher, I misunderstood it! I thought I had to double click on the patcher and THEN drag the codec dump on the icon (on the dock). Instead I had to drag the codec directly on the icon of the app, without launching it first. Maybe Taruga could specify it for the ones that think like me? In the end, thank you, Taruga. Now even my crappy AD1986a works well!
