Thanks to the quick tests we (Taruga, cosmo1t and me) did at the new project channel #AppleHDA (macspeak), there's some very good progress. Sigmatel 9200 aka STAC9200_83847690 works! Internal Speakers + HeadPhones - works Microphone - works Output volume controls - works Wait for the full version of AppleHDA Patcher (1.10) by Taruga. That's all for now, c'ya all in #AppleHDA channel at irc.macspeak.net Well, that's certainly promising news. Any ETA on 1.10's arrival? Thanks for the hard work. kevinosx
EDIT: found the link that has all the currently posted codecs but none seem to work for mine, shows as having audio but doesn't play anything or let me use the slider (up down). Is the only way to get a codec dump by loading linux livecd? or could I play with nodes or something? sigmatel 9200 Vendor 8384 Device 7690 subsystem 102801cd revision 1022 4&350FOB83&0&0001 Would the Soundblaster USB support package I installed interfere in any way? CyBeRiA
So, for right now, is there any way to get sound out of *just* the headphones as opposed to getting sound out of both? Did I miss an earlier post about that? I've got a STAC 9200 Using 1.10 final Thanks again for all the hard work. It's great to have sound working. NHJ
hello thanks but this didn't work, i tried with mifki's kernel, the patcher went fine but nothing is detected in audio/midi config unfortunately while the patcher says it did detect speaker 5 14 3 and headphone 6 14 3 here's my codec in case or it can help to track the problem. codecdump.txt

OK thanx for your report, I expect some positive results from AD1986 Other AD´s I have to wait and see, I need to study better the codec specs of AD1981, they are a little different
Sunny
Taruga, Thank you so much for your efforts! But unfortunately, the patcher does not seem to work for my Asus U5F SoundMax 1986a. The volume icon appears, but the slider could not be adjusted. And no sound output could be heard at all either from the internal speaker or from the jacks. Attached kindly please find the logs and info of my system. Many Thanks! Best Regards, Sunny adi1986a.tar.gz
jjduro
hp = ALC861 ALC861 is not working yet, but the kernel problems you´re having, other users reported and one thing in common is semthex kernel, don´t know why.... I´m using Daemon´s or Mifki´s kernel OK... so, I changed the kernel from Semthex's to Mifki's and I didn't have any more kernel panics. The v1.10 patcher ran smoothly... Followed the instrutions and rebooted. Then I had a surprise As you said, the ALC861 chip is not supported yet. So.. no sound or volume control or anything... But, at least, I said goodbye to kernel panics. Keep up the good work Taruga jjduro (Portugal) PS here's what I had after patching AppleHDA.kext: AppleHDA Patcher - 2006 Taruga v1.10 * Patching AppleHDA.kext to 0x10ec0861 Done * Checking AppleHDA for patch Done 0001f2c4 cmpl $0x10ec0861,%eax 000203d0 cmpl $0x10ec0861,%eax * Checking for SPDIF Out Detected * Checking for SPDIF In Not Detected * Creating AppleHDA Custom Configs * Using the following nodes in pathmap Back Mic: 8 20 13 Line In : 0 Speaker : 11 22 3 Spdif Out: 18 7 * Copying new config to destination Done * Repairing Permissions Started verify/repair permissions on disk disk0s1 OSX Determining correct file permissions. SkyZ
Okay, today's a day to remember, Sigmatel 9200 is working!!! Thks Taruga!!! However, there's something I wanna report, unlike 1.10b, 1.10 give me built-in speaker working, but built-in headphone is now gone (but when I plug in a headphone, it does produce sound). For input, there's input but built-in mic is now gone, as I don't have a mic around, can't really test the mic jack..... Anyway, thks again Taruga, I can almost claim my Latitude D620 a MacBook Semi Pro now~~~~ BTW, here's what I see when patching: AppleHDA Patcher - 2006 Taruga v1.10 * Patching AppleHDA.kext to 0x83847690 Done * Checking AppleHDA for patch Done 0001f2cb cmpl $0x83847690,%eax 000203d7 cmpl $0x83847690,%eax * Checking for SPDIF Out Not Detected * Checking for SPDIF In Not Detected * Creating AppleHDA Custom Configs * Using the following nodes in pathmap Back Mic: 3 10 12 16 Speaker : 14 11 7 2 * Copying new config to destination Done * Repairing Permissions Started verify/repair permissions on disk disk0s3 DellMac620 Determining correct file permissions.
