baietas
It seems that is only working inputs on 9200, and normaly is more difficult inputs than outputs, but I think I know what the problems is, have to take a look at the 9200 specs That is excelent news.. I can't wait to get back to OS X Long Live Sigmatel 9200!!!

Ferret-Simpson
The patcher uses the codec definition you can take from a linux install or liveCD (Certain ones) and then modifies your Apple Hac's AppleHDA.kext accordingly. It's not perfect for anyone, but usually gives some audio functionality. It's getting there, thanks to wonderful Taruga.

NemesisSheep
What is the status on STAC9227 codec? Will 9220 or any other version possibly make the 9227 work?
Taruga
sorry i might be a noob but can anyone tell me what this hda patcher does? is it supposed to replace the old 0.4 package? thanks. Yes, it´s supposed to replace old v0.4. For alc882 users and some more, it also creates codec verbs. I think this one is much better that the old one I did, and the old one was made only for alc882. AppleHDA Patcher is my efforts to get most of the codecs working with a single package, and custom configs as you may compare in Info.plist´s And much, much shorter Info.plists too Funny, did anyone mencioned that my Info.plists are much more readable and shorter ?! Anyone noticed ?!
Taruga
What is the status on STAC9227 codec? Will 9220 or any other version possibly make the 9227 work? I don´t know the status of 9227, I need you to tell me. Most of codecs, I try to implement in a test base, then after users feedback , if it works or not, or something is not ok, I can see the amount of people that use that codec and I try to put it working, There are some sigmatel codecs working, but don´t know which ones. I have to search my emails and pm´s and build a database to put in online so I (and you) can check better whats the status of some codec. Thanx

macintoshy
Hi Taruga, I tried the new 1.10 patch and after each boot there is no AppleHDA.kext loaded. I can see the 71 0 0x4add1000 0x2000 0x1000 com.max.ALCinject (1.0.0d1) <16 11> loaded, but no AppleHDA.kext. I used ALC882 Sound Fix v0.4b and the 0.3b with the same result. No sound devices. My chipset is an ALC880 Realtek ICH7 southbridge (look at my signature for motherboard infos). Has anyone made this work with AppleHDA for ALC880 and Intel 945P chipsets? Do I have to take a none-882 or -883 AppleHDA.kext to patch ALC880? AIc880_dump.txt Edited February 1, 2007 by macintoshy

It will not work with anything else than Realtek ALC882 AppleHDA Patcher is the general solution for most of us, but it´s a work in progress with a lot to do. Realtek ALC880 and older will not work at the moment with AppleHDA Patcher, so , don´t even try it. When I solve this problem with ALC880 you all will know. Ferret-Simpson
Okay, rebooted with an Ubuntu LiveCD and grabbed myself my very own codec dump: Gonna try 1.10b with everything switched on. Wish me luck! Is it me or do I keep starting new pages? Anyway, I had the same results a last time. Only the default on the other codec dump works. Here's my Linux codec dump, anyway. Fernando Birra
Still doesn't work here Hope it does in the next version... Anyway, great work Taruga! Can you please check if the AppleHDA extension was loaded? Mine isn't and when I try to load it with: sudo kextload /System/Library/Extensions/AppleHDA.kext it complains with this message: can't add kernel extension /System/Library/Extensions/AppleHDA.kext (not a bundle) (run kextload on this kext with -t for diagnostic output) adding the -t switch does nothing. I also have the same AsRock motherboard with ALC888. Edited February 2, 2007 by Fernando Birra
