Taruga: What are the differences for say different types of ALC 882 (882M, 882D, DD etc)??? If you have a dump for 882M will what ever you do from that dump be 100% compatible with 882D or would you need a dump from all types of each version of ALC chips?

Good news for christmas! I just bought myself a knew laptop with AnalogDevices AD1986A sound-chipset.

I managed to get AppleHDA loaded and having sound output from Digital-LineOut. More work has to be done now (Analog Line-Out, Mic, LineIn etc.), but I will give the stuff to taruga when I think it is worth to be released.

Merry christmas!

Max

Hi TheMaxx32000,

Is your new laptop also utilizing ICH7 HD audio?

Could you let me know how you managed to have sound output with AppleHDA?

'Cause I've tried several versions of Taruga's AppleHDA.mpkg, the kexts loaded, but not even the volume

slide icon appeared.

However, the volume icon appeared when I use the AppleAzalia instead.

Nevertheless, both methods had no sound output...

So, please kindly help us to solve the AD1986 HD audio problem!

Many Thanks!

Sunny

This is an encouraging thread, excellent work Taruga!

Looking forward to progress made with the Sigmatel 9200 hardware, and if at all possible, I would gladly donate to the cause .

All the best,

Pawel.

Sigmatel 9200 (0x83847690)

I miss my sound in OS X... anything would be great... internal speakers/headphones... anything

Everyone had the other Sigmatels working, and we, the 9200 got ignored :'(

Is there any hope for us, or this card will never work? Is it so different than the other models?

Thank you! Your work IS appreciated!!!

This works for me - P5LD2 motherboard,

however, the sound stutters and cracks for a second each time a sound is played, i.e. a new MP3, then resolves itself after a second and plays fine.

Consequently, sound effects are always garbled because they are under a second mostly.

Thanks for the good work,

Bryan
